Lisa and Skupin really have no shot with Abi gone. With either Malcolm or Denise in the final three, they lose. Their best chance may be to end up with both Malcolm and Denise in the final three and hope some sort of split vote develops and the squeak by with maybe four votes.
No!! :eek:Not in unhallowed ground!
Jeff already confirmed that it’s a Final 3.
Shucks. I was hoping for a final 2 since it’s been a while since they did that and it might throw a monkey wrench into some of the strategizing. The producers probably figure that having three contestants in the running it promotes viewership.
Wow, one elimination in the finale? It better be a 1 hour finale (not counting reunion), because I can’t see how they’ll fill a two-hour slot with anything very interesting game-wise. A 30 minute season recap? 30 minutes of dropping torches in the water? Then an immunity challenge to the death using foam weapons?
Agreed. Especially about Lisa. She has no chance of winning. Skupin has a better chance, but who wants to give the $1M to a retread? Malcolm and Denise have been the true Survivors, especially when you consider where they came from in their original tribe and what they had to do after the merge.
I’m hoping Denise wins, but I won’t be too disappointed if Malcolm wins. My $$ is on Denise, though, if she makes it to the end. If Malcolm wins immunity, she’s toast.
I dunno. With both Malcolm and Denise in a Final 3, I’m hard-pressed to think of an argument for four votes going to somebody else. I honestly have no idea which of the two would get more votes, though, so of course the only way the final vote will have any drama at all is for them both to be there. Maybe we’ll see the first tie vote in a final and finally learn how they’d handle it!
I’m disappointed in this too, both because a 2-hour finale is a long way to go to get rid of one player, and because I’ve always liked Final 2’s more anyway.
I suppose what they wanted to eliminate was the winner of the last immunity challenge having absolute power over who else goes to the final; this way you still need an ally in the last vote. But a Final 2 seems to have an extra layer of having earned your way there nevertheless.
It’s definitely a 2 hour finale (3 hours with reunion), scheduled to start at 8:30 and will probably be delayed by football anyway.
Isn’t Sunday Night Football on NBC? 9ers play N.E. Go 9ers!!
But that’s good. We’ll watch football, and then switch over to Survivor on the DVR. Maybe enough time will have elapsed so we can FF through commercials.
This is why she’d be perfect. Can you imagine her breakdown on a team with real villains?
Yes, but CBS has the 4:25 game this week, so they’re scheduling 60 Minutes to start at 7:30, and they haven’t hit that start time yet. And yeah, I’ll be watching the Pats crush your 49ers like Malcolm spanking Abi in a challenge.
Good one!
Actually, it’s sort of win/win for me on this. Live in NorCal and have for a long time, but grew up in New England. I can go either way.
As for Abi, I think I could watch a renunion show, not of “villains”, but of clueless, social idiots. Make sure they all have ZERO survival skills and MAXIMUM complaining skills.
Made me smile!
Does anyone else think that Abi//Pete/Artiss/Carter will vote together? What I mean is that if Denise(let’s say) is harsh to Abi at the FTC, might it dissuade the others from voting for her.
The best situation is to be sure you’re sitting next to someone who is as hated by that foursome as you are. (Malcolm and Denise) But since it’s a final 3, those 4 can vote for the third option (Skupin or Lisa) and they would only need to get one more vote to win.
This could be a very interesting FTC. More interesting than the ‘who’s the most bitter’ fest it usually is.
Cite? There’s never been a final episode where there was only one elimination.
The case to be made for a final 3 is that the last chance for the hidden immunity to be played is usually two eliminations before the one leading to final tribal (i.e. at final 5 tribal council for a 3-person final tribal). However, there were three idols this season–they set the last tribal council to play hidden immunity at final 5 so there wasn’t the possible outcome of all four remaining players having immunity at final 4.
I originally got it from this tweet from Dalton Ross that says
However, the link only hints at that:
So I guess we’ll see.
I don’t see anything different about it. One hour to eliminate one player, just like always. Then you have the walk of the fallen, then final tribal council. It seems exactly right to me.
Except it’s never been done this way before, and the finale has always been rife with filler, not least because we’re down to so few people that there’s not a lot left to show or talk about. I can see your point about using one hour to sink one player, like every week, but then we’re left with a whole 'nother hour with really nothing to do except the final reverse-tribal, with the result of that tribal not even revealed until the start of the third hour. I may just stop watching after the first elimination if this is the way they go, and read who won on the internet. I don’t think I’ll be the only one who will.
Just a head’s up… 60 Minutes is supposed to start at 7:30. It is 7:20 now and the game is tied with under 3 minutes to go. Expect overtime and a delay.
60 Minutes just now starting.
Hmmm… and they just said it would be a “shortened edition of 60 minutes.” Maybe they’re going to start *Survivor *on time.
