Survivor 4/15: After the Merge

So, what is going to happen tonight?

Are they keeping dual immunity? Will Bahston Rahb and Ambuh be split up?

I am a huge Rupert fan, even after the boneheaded moves he has made, and I want to see him go far in this game.

For the love of all that’s holy, somebody please wise up and vote Rob’s ass out of there!!

It seems Kathy or Shii Ann will be doomed tonight, but hell, it’s Survivor, anything can happen.

You know, as much as I don’t like him, he keeps things interesting on the show, so I’d like to see Rob stay around for a little while longer just to stir things up. I’d rather see Shii Ann and Jenna go, and get rid of some of the deadwood.

My current thinking:

Rob - I love this man, in a distant, “I don’t have to deal with him” kind of way. His pompous, arrogant, chauvinistic attitudes, combined with oh-so-yummy physique are most entertaining for me. Is he a prawn? Of course! But he is so good at this game!

Amber - Eh. Getting involved with Rob was shrewd, sticking with him will keep her around.

Tom - Love him, love his commentary. He hasn’t set himself up as a threat, so if the Rob-Amber-Rupert-Jenna-Tom alliance holds (and I think it will), I think he will be F3. I think, actually, that he might swing in line with Rupert and Jenna, in which case he could end up F2.

Rupert - Still love him for his Hagridness, but I wouldn’t call him the smartest Survivor player. Still could come out the winner on this one, though.

Jenna - I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her, since I have her in a Survivor pool. She’ll definitely be in the final five, could possibly win if she makes it to F3 and wins the immunity. She hasn’t been impressing me though.

Shii Ann - Interesting how she is not being shown much. I think the sole reason she was picked for All Stars was her facial expression when Jeff said “This wasn’t a merge”

Kathy - Depending on her attitude, I can see her doing one of a couple things. She could try to get with Rupert and Jenna, and convince them to vote off Shii Ann. She could try a real power play, trying to turn R&J against Rob, pulling Shii Ann in as an ally. This would be good for Shii Ann, as it keeps her off the radar.

Alicia - Where is she in all this? If she doesn’t antagonize anyone, I think she will be forgotten for a bit longer. She’s not proven to be a physical threat, but she does seem to work a little.

SO, My guess for who goes tonight? Kathy. I don’t think she’ll pull it together in time to save her hide, and I don’t think Rob will want to keep someone around who would stage a mutiny.

Again with the big black box. You’ve been warned.
This week’s boot appears to be Kathy. Of the two remaining Mogos, she’s the one most likely to compete, and it appears that her earlier hobnobbing with the Chaperans won’t play any role in keeping her around. It’s business, and simply put, she poses much more of a threat than the Shii-Devil.

Too bad, too. I was rooting for Kathy because she reminds me most of my mom-in-law – a middle-aged realtor who says what’s on her mind.

If you think Kathy’s departure this week is no surprise, I’m sure I won’t even have to think about mentioning who gets next week’s vote. Let the Pagonging continue…**
I think Kathy goes tonight. She has played stupidly since the merge, and her weepy act about Lex and convincing win of immunity last week should get the foot applied to butt this week.

I expect much plotting and weasling, and a straight-tribe line vote at TC. If Kathy gets Immunity, Shii Ann goes.

BTW, it’s not exactly a spoiler, per se…

But tonight is the annual “Messages From Home” episode. And I’m not ashamed to admit that I fight back tears every damn time they do one of these.

Bring it on, Burnett.

Can you imagine how awesome it would’ve been if Shii Ann would’ve scrambled around making new alliances when they were supposed to merge only to be told they weren’t merging again? Or if they got out the new buff colors and moved to the same beach, and then Jeff trots out the old “in Survivor, anything can happen” line and tells them to split back into teams? Maybe I’m just evil…

I cry like a little girl, every damn time. Let’s hope Jenna’s family got it together and remembered to send something. Does anyone else remember the first season, where everyone but Jenna got a video?

Yes. And I was happy to hear prior to the beginning of the season that it was confirmed that Jenna lasted long enough to get a video.

Mrs. Chastain and I are such saps for the Family Reward, but it’s so hard to watch.

I think Kathy will go if she doesn’t win immunity. I will continue to hold out hope that someone will wise up and get rid of Amber. But I am almost always wrong about this stuff.

We also love the Weep-And-Blubber episode. Rob ought to be interesting tonight. I mean, for Pete’s sake, he cries like a girl over stinkin’ Amber!

I also expect to see Kathy to go. Unless she wins immunity, then it’s anyone’s guess. Hopefully Shii-Ann. I don’t like her, never have.

I will be sitting there with my box of Kleenex and crying like a baby during the family thing. Always do.

Count me in, too.
I felt so bad for Jenna when she didn’t get her video the first time around. She has two little girls (twins) and you know she had to be missing them like crazy.

Topic? Yeah, I think the Pagonging will continue with Kathy or Shi-Ann. Probably Kathy. I’d really like to see a couple of them get it together and get Rob outta there. I wish Kathy and Shi-Ann would approach Rupert and Jenna and get them to swing over with them and dump Rob like a bad habit. I think Rupert could be swayed, and you know Jenna would follow his lead. They could probably get Tom, too.

At this point, I’d be happy with anyone else but Rob winning.

Kathy, being pissed over Lex’s ouster, will try to organize the girls (except Amber) to get rid of Rob. If she’s smart, she’ll get Rupert on her side, and if he’s smart, he’ll agree. Rupert should know that job 1 right now is to get rid of Rob. And if Rob gets immunity, they go after Amber. You cannot allow an ironclad, obvious alliance like they have to exist in a merged situation.

I think Tom will stay loyal to Rob, but that’s a big mistake.

This should be a really, really, good episode!

I like Rob, too, although his physique has nothing to do with it. I like his audacity and his honesty. Honesty with the camera, I mean. Obviously, he lies in the game. The best liar has a huge tactical advantage. But anyway, his physiqueI? Rob is like a Gumby with baby fat. Why do you find his physique attractive? I would have thought Ethan or someone like that would be more the model physique.

So far, I think Rob’s the best person to take to the finals. If I remember right he’s going to have to break deals with everyone else that’s left in order to get there, isn’t he? I wouldn’t be surprised if Amber screws him over. Watch her body language when they’re together. She’s not into him at all. Poor Rob.

I’m not sure who I’m rooting for. The only Survivor I saw was Pearl Islands and I don’t like Rupert this time around. I guess I’d like to see Kathy win but she’ll probably get ousted tonight. Or Tom. Tom would have some fun with that kind of money and I can appreciate that.

You know, I’ve been thinking the same thing. I can see Rob sacrificing himself to save her (sort of like when he tried to throw the IC the week before last), but I can totally see Amber screwing Rob to get ahead.
For example, I can see Rob volunteering to be voted out instead of Amber, or giving her his Immunity if he thought she was going to be the one to go… but if Rob was the one with the target on his back one week, I don’t think Amber would do the same.

Damn, I hate it when I’m right. What is wrong with these people? Why won’t they get rid of friggin’ Amber? Did I miss a memo or something? I really loathe her.

Figures!:frowning:

Before the show started I picked Kathy as the one to go tonight. Sorry to see I was right. She’s been one of my favorite players.

At least she went out fighting unlike so many recent outsters. She was right when she said that the other players who are feeling safe now should be thinking about their future while they still have options.

A prediction for next week based on nothing but a hunch. They’re due for a “player’s choice” immunity challenge - one like the slingshot breaking plates challenge where an individual who’s been winning immunities can be overwhelmed by the other players ganging up on him. If so, Rob will be the target and will find himself in danger.
