I agree that Genevieve played it very well. But tricking Teeny is like faking a Labrador Retriever puppy with a fake throw.
And speaking of dogs, Andy really screwed the pooch with his talk with Rachel.

But from going what he actually knew, it was a very, very good attempt at jury management. If Rachel didn’t have the idol, it was a valiant try at getting out of bittersauce in the jury.
That’s why I always ask - Why are you telling everyone you have an idol? Keep it to yourself!
Rachel deserves to win. Saam kinda does. The two goats- Sue and Teeny- do not, However, I expect Teeny to win.
Yep
Right.
It’s funny about her, we started out liking her but she has become so petty that really starting to abhor her. That and the fact that she’s wrong about almost every vote. I don’t tolerate short sighted players very well. Even after Genevieve told her the idol was fake she still didn’t believe her. I don’t mean to be harsh, but she is one of the stupidest players I’ve seen in a while.
I think Rachael deserves to win and probably will. Playing that idol really hit home with the jury. But a jury can award the money for any reason they want to and I think on a daily basis, Sam has been the nicest to people around camp. I can see him pulling it out but my money is on Rachael.
But oddly she is still getting the winners edit.
Why do you say “ALMOST”? Teeny voted for Sam. Genevieve did trick her. She just didn’t trick Rachel and Sue. (assuming the Wikipedia entry is correct - it matches what I think I saw).
It’s all very weird, because at the TC you had Rachel seemingly trying to convince Teeny to vote for Sam, by saying “if the idol is real it will be you”, but then Rachel voted for Genevieve (even though most of the previous conversation indicated she thought the idol was real, after being told by Teeny it was fake).
I’m not entirely convinced that what we were shown accurately represents what the people on the island actually believed. Rachel and Sue voted for Genevieve, so they clearly either (a) thought the idol was fake or (b) didn’t really care because they were both immune. But if so, why go to the trouble to convince Teeny to vote Sam?
Oh well, we have one chance for a good winner and one chance for a tolerable winner. But even the “good winner” has the caveat that Rachel is only still in the game because Sol randomly saved her ass.
I don’t really know why you think she’s getting the winner’s edit. She’s getting plenty of screen time becuase she’s a pretty good audience surrogate, but she’s had less confession time than Sam and Rachel (and Andy and Gen!)
And her screen time, especially this week, was basically “let’s recap all of the ways I’ve been fooled”, followed directly by her getting fooled again. Maybe that’s a winners edit, but I don’t think so.
Now, they have moderated that by allowing her to explain that she’s just a trusting and open person, which can be admirable qualities in a human being. But they aren’t qualities of a game winner.
I find it very hard to believe anybody other than Rachel or Sam are winning this game.
Well, that ending surprised nobody.
Good season. Not phenomenal, but entertaining.
Eh, I think Rachel would’ve beat him on the puzzle even if he got there first. And she would’ve won fire too.
It’s pretty common for one two people to fall into the “firemaker” role at camp. You don’t want to be going off into the jungle with the machete and flint to practice or people are going to start looking at you as a threat.
So, it went down like I predicted it would and Teeny’s edit (what ever that is) didn’t help her one whit.
I have to re-post this because it confused the shit out of me. I was raving about this to my wife who didn’t seem to understand. It makes NO sense that Rachael would try to convince to Teeny to vote for Sam and Rachael then voting for Genevieve. Especially now that we know Racheal was wanting Sam out. That whole thing is just too weird.
Yup.
I was literally yelling at the TV, “Stand the fuck up!”
I have a suspicion that Sam knew how and that whole thing was drummed up for drama’s sake. Up to that point, Sam hadn’t even hinted at crying and the boo-hoo’d about not making fire? Color me skeptical. That whole conversation about it in the water didn’t ring true either.
Thank you for that! I thought I was the only one
Yeah. I was expecting the boo-hoo story, and then a cut back to the beach, and Sam lights a fire with one expert swoop on the flint. Ugh.
They had months to learn this skill before Survivor!
I really wonder why none of them laid the puzzle down on the ground, assembled it there, then hung it up. I really would have thought it would be easier that way.
They might not have been able to. Remember that the overview we get of the challenge is much shorter than what actually happens live. There was a puzzle earlier this year where Jeff mentioned that they couldn’t lay out the puzzle pieces on the ground. They have to keep them all on the little table and grab one at a time.
Not to mention all the time they had laying around camp. And lets be honest here, it’s not that hard to do. It wouldn’t take that much practice.
I mentioned this to my wife while we were watching - I told her they should take them out of that bag.
I remember what Colby said once in an interview. He asked Jeff before a challenge is something was allowed (it wasn’t), and Jeff said it’s better to just do it, than asking ahead of time.
It’s pretty obvious why they wouldn’t allow it. They need to build tension by showing where everyone is on the puzzle and Jeff needs to see it to commentate.
Oooh. Yeah. This makes more sense.
Sue and Teeny never realized they were goats.
No, even if Sam won the challenge, he wouldnt have gotten the votes to win.
Hell, a smart player practices for weeks before even getting on the show!
Still 4th place which she didnt even deserve that. But yeah the editors fooled me.
Teeny is not the sharpest knife in the block.
