Damn, I logged in to say something about how Christy’s power intoxication and delight in keeping her alliance guessing cost her the game, but you guys beat me to it.
In a way I’m torn, I loathe the boobie twins and was looking forward to one of them going, but this is definitely the most interesting “who’s going to go next” Survivor season.
I’ve given up even trying to guess who goes next. This season is completely unpredictable, and I love it.
I’ll miss Christy, but I expected her to go last week, so I made my peace with losing her. Of course, this week her leaving was the last thing I expected…
And Rob…this guy is utterly amazing! How how how can he keep screwing absolutely everybody and then somehow make them trust him the next minute? I’ve said before that he doesn’t compare to Rich (S1) or Brian (S4), and he really doesn’t…he has none of their subtlety. His plotting and scheming is completely obvious to everyone. And yet somehow, he’s pulling it off.
We’ll see how long it lasts. He’s completely flying by the seat of his pants, hanging on by his fingernails. But I’m pulling for him now. It would be just too fun if he manages to win now. Could he be the exception to DavidB’s “Don’t scheme too much” rule?
Wah, holy crap – I didn’t expect Christy. On reading the thread above, I think y’all are right – Christy wouldn’t commit to either side before TC, that’s what got her voted off.
Alas, poor Christy, you were a sweet girl but that and five cents will get you a cup of coffee. Damn, I really liked her.
So, was Jenna giving the immunity necklace to Heidi (I assume in hopes of screwing up the vote if Rob didn’t keep his word – again), the “I never thought it would happen” move that Probst had described ?
I think him and Dave are being funny. You couldn’t really see Dave’s facial hair except one closeup, but they both have the same handle-bar mustache thing going on. It would be funny if Rob or Butch was next out and they did the same thing.
Oh, yeah: Madawc, I think you’re out of line. The “evil stepsisters” treated Christy like crap from day one. It’s not about ‘deaf card’ issues, it’s about the “attractive girls” v. the everyone else, and the Twigs made it quite clear where Christy stood. Surely you remember these comments from the Jenna/Heidi horses mouths, hmmm?
Jeez, remember last week? : Jenna, the entitlement queen (and just why is your venom not directed at this little “I deserve to be pampered” prissy?), hates Christy for getting a letter from home? Why shouldn’t Christy hate her guts?
You know, it’s one thing not to learn from previous seasons of Survivor – every group of characters and every situation is a bit different. It’s another thing entirely not to learn from the previous 3 days! Christy, what the hell were you thinking?!
Never, ever, ever, ever tell Rob there’s a chance you might vote him off. NEVER. If he thinks for a moment that you’re a threat to vote against him, you’re a GONNER – evidence Alex and now Christy.
I just can’t believe that some of these utter morons haven’t figured out that this game is all about the lying! Christy should’ve just told Rob she had every intention of sticking with their alliance, assured him he was totally safe and then, if she decided to vote him off, do it at TC when he’s not expecting it.

And now there’s no way in hell Rob will be voted off next week. Every single player has him pegged as their #2 man because they’re all convinced that no one would ever vote for him to win the million bucks. He’s sailin’ now.

Oh, and I know and seen Jenna in action as being a bitch. I don’t for once condone her prissy bitch actions. But Christy isn’t a fucking angel herself. Heidi and Jenna are very easy to loathe and detest but Christy for everyone BUT me is a little angel and darling in Survivor. Don’t you notice for one bit that Burnett is force feeding you this tripe that she’s America’s Sweetheart? Gawd, I hope someone in here can see my point of view. Even if it is skewed and judmental, there is some truth to what I present… Blah, who cares if no one sees her the way I do. I’m just glad she’s out. And I’m just waiting for everything to explode in Rob’s, Jenna’s, and Heidi’s faces. Only two worthy of winning to me are Matt and Butch.

Okay, I lost interest in this season a couple of weeks ago (still deciding whether or not to record the finale), so I’ll just put up a few questions and leave it at that.
First off, why the hell isn’t anybody giving Christie any credit for making it this far? Considering her obvious handicap, that’s a hell of an achievement in my book. Keep in mind that she’s getting a lot more prize money than if the old Jaburu tribe knocked her off when I thought they would.
Second, does anyone really believe Rob has a chance? I’ll say it again; Richard Hatch was a FLUKE. He took advantage of his opponents’ TOTAL CLUELESSNESS. It’s NEVER HAPPENING AGAIN. Nobody gets that much free pussy twice in one lifetime. I can see him getting one or two sympathy votes in the final, but no more.
Finally, why are so many of you absolutely apoplectic over whiners like Christie, yet never have half as much acrimony for completely insane demented psychopaths that are also irritiating as hell (I’m talking to you, Jerri Manthey!).
Well, Madawc, my son agrees with you 100%, if that makes you feel any better. He pegged Christy as a whiney cry-baby from Day 1 and hasn’t changed his opinion once.
Personally, I liked her well enough – certainly better than the titty twins. However, I do think her freak-out after the vote was kind of… poor form. It’s a game, kids, roll with it.
Predictions: At this point, I’m leaning towards Matt and Rob in the final 2 with Matt winning. But who knows? This has been an unpredictable season, hasn’t it? I’m really enjoying this one a lot!
Perhaps because she didn’t have anything to do with getting this far? She didn’t play the game for one day while she was there. No scheming, no planning, no alliance building, no nothing.

I disagree with you completely, madawc. Jenna and Heidi alienated Christy from day 1. Clearly she wasn’t “pretty enough” (their words, not mine) to be included in their clique. And then suddenly they NEED her vote and lo and behold, who’s knocking on her door to talk to her, but the self serving bimbos.
The DEAF CARD? I don’t even know what that is, but your attitude really pisses me off. Newsflash: You can feel hurt and excluded WITHOUT IT BEING ABOUT YOUR HANDICAP. Get it? Christy was ticked because Jenna and Heidi EXCLUDED her for 31 days. That would genuinely piss me off, and (drum roll) I’M NOT DEAF.
Do you think for one second that Jenna and Heidi would have approached her had it not served THEIR end? Had Christy ever made it to the final 3 with Jenna and Heidi, what were her odds of having either of them choose HER to be in the final 2? NONE.
She had a right to be ticked. The only thing she did wrong was to not commit to Rob’s first plan to boot Heidi.
And as far as Jenna giving Heidi the immunity as a “strategy”? Puh-lease. She really thinks people are as dim-witted as she is. If they were going to vote Heidi off, they’d simply switch their vote to Jenna. Jenna is very lucky her “strategy” didn’t backfire in her face.
Rob is great. I love how they kept showing the real snake interspersed with snippets of Rob. And Matt rocks.
I was pondering that. I think maybe just to throw the few people who were going to vote for Heidi a loop. I don’t know beneficial it was to anyone - Jenna and Heidi are interchangeable to the people who were going to vote for them.
Maybe it was a reconciliation thing because she knocked Heidi out of immunity.
You know, I can’t believe they’re still playing the “only one person gets to see their family” thing and thinking we’re buying it. They have to fly everybody to the site, since there’s no way of knowing who will win, and I doubt if anyone thought Matt wouldn’t get a longer visit with his Mom. Wasn’t the first Survivor season the only one where only one person saw their family (Sean and his dad on the boat)? Rob was absolutely right about anyone giving up their visit to be canonized as the Patron Saint of Immunity Challenges, since it was pretty obvious everyone would get a visit anyways - but with one exception: I believe Jenna is so self-absorbed and filled with a sense of entitlement that it would never occur to her to give up the visit.
I don’t know which was worse-watching my sweet Christy slowly hang herself or seeing Rob in a speedo. Eeewwww…
Next week it will be interesting to see how she joins in with the Village People look Alex and Dave are sporting-maybe some new hairdo in them pits!
Both sides on the Christie issue have merit. She was often a whiney cry baby, but Tweedle-tit and Tweedle-boob treated her with utter contempt. Does anyone remember the shot last week where the fearless foursome were lounging around letting the outcasts do all the work?
ROb surprised me this week. Once Jenna tossed the imunity neckless he should’ve voted for her. Those girls absolutely hate him and he needs to break that alliance if he wants to advance.
Did anyone catch the “F” word that made it thru the editors? Can’t remember exaclty when, but it was either Matt or Rob early on when they were putting palm fronds on the new shelter.
I also don’t know why Rob didn’t come right out and tell everyone why he voted for Alex. Simple-- Alex told him to his face that he (Rob) would get voted out once they reached the final four.
I just wanted to chime in and agree with Shayna. What is with these people thinking they can tell someone “oh, I might vote for you to leave” and not have any repercussions. Alex did it to Rob, and gets sent packing for his trouble. Christy must have been sleeping, because she does the exact same thing!
I would have rather seen Jenna’s “strategy” blow up in her face, but Christy screwed herself by not telling people what they wanted to hear. She should have told Heidi that she would throw in with her and Jenna, and told Rob she was solid with their alliance. She could have made up her mind at tribal council, where the person she lied to can’t do anything about it (at least until jury day).
I’m hoping that Butch or Matt makes it to the final two, since either one of them should be able to win the whole thing. Rob may be aiming for the final two with Jenna or Heidi so he can say “yeah, I lied to you, but you knew I’d lie. [Jenna/Heidi] lied to you, and at the same time went on and on about how honest they were. Now give me my $1,000,000”. It worked for Evil Dr. Will on Big Brother, where the booted contestants can watch tapes of the show and know exactly what was said by everyone before they vote for the winner. It may work for Rob too. If not, he’s certainly made this season of Survivor very, very interesting.
Madawc - I am a little disappointed you threw in a endgame spoiler at the bottom of your spoiler box. You did not mention it outright, but you gave away more than I wanted to know.

The part where you mention a “gambling” problem affecting the endgame. I know it doesn’t mention who, what or why, but it’s something I didn’t want to know
I know that there is a huge spoiler floating around about the endgame, but I really wasn’t expecting it with mixed in with a weekly recap spoiler box. I’m really trying to remain spoiler free as this is such an interesting game so far.
