No Survivor thread yet? We don’t already hate this season that much, do we? I mean, some of the people are questionable (Jonathan) (also, Ozzy), but they’re not all despicable. Then again, it is only Week Four. We still have nine weeks or so to go.

Anycrap, info from our good friends at Yahoo! TV:
One tribe is divided by gender; Candice’s tribemates want to know why she thinks the other tribe sent her to Exile Island; J.P.'s dominance angers some of the women in his tribe; the fourth castaway is voted off.
Here’s hoping for a good episode tonight … even though we know the previews and the spoilers are, as per Burnett’s usual, pretty much useless.
Despicable would be interesting. So far, they’re all pretty boring. But it has been only 3 episodes so far, and with all the attention paid to the “race” thing, we haven’t had much time for character development. So I’m holding out hope that things will get more interesting.
Actually, I am fairly curious to see what Perverti does next. “Oh, look. I dropped my coconut! Let me just bennnnd over and pick it up!”
Holy crap! Actual intrigue! That was a darn good episode. Way to turn it around and not be boring, you guys!
My patented Random Useless Thoughts:

[li]Ozzy is kind of a tool, but he’s still pretty. And he has a lovely freestyle, too. Hooray for surfer boys![/li][li]Poor baby boobie! I fear for the poor wee critter. And I don’t understand Jonathan and the teary eyes.[/li][li]WHALES!!! w00t! I think I love whales more than monkeys, if you could possibly imagine.[/li][/ul]
Man, I hope that mama bird accepted her baby back. I was really surprised by her behavior-- I can’t believe she sat on the branch through that whole thing.
That was an excellent booting! I love a good blindsiding. And it was interesting that although they thought Parvati would run tell Nate and then vote with the guys, she voted for JP while Nate voted for Stephanie, while the other white guy (anyone remember his name?) voted for JP along with Brad. I haven’t sorted out the alliances/lines of communication yet, but clearly things are not as obvious as they might seem.
And what on earth was Cao Boi doing to start that fire? And why did it work?
I’ve been drugged up and facedown on my couch for a couple days, but I finally dragged my broken ass to the computer.
Pretty good episode, indeed. As rockle said, I love me a good blindsiding. I was surprised to see Adam vote for J.P. I’d like to know the story behind that one. I’m guessing either Parvati or Brad tipped him off, and he jumped into the majority, rather than make himself even a little bit of a target.
Historically, women’s alliances always seem to fail, because one of the women just changes her mind. Makes me ashamed of my own breasts, but it’s true. I’d like to see this one work.
Thus far, nobody really sticks out for me, with the exception of Cao Boi. There are a few people I like a little (Stephannie, Rebecca, Brad), but nobody I’m really rooting for. Except maybe Baby Boobie. I hope Mama took him back.
I really enjoyed Ozzy’s running on water - I rewound both runs a lot! Glad his little hissy fit about losing another Latino didn’t last. I wonder how he’ll feel about JP’s ouster when he finds out.
Candice almost had me in tears with her “realization” of why she was sent to Exile Island. “Oh, wow…I didn’t even think of thaaaaat? In my miiiiiinnd?”
Cao Boi was giving his little spark lots of fresh air by waving it around instead of blowing on it. Would never have thought of it myself, but now that I see it, it seems like a no brainer. Esp since it worked!
I love Candice. She so stupid. I’m starting to have fantasies about leaving something sticky on her wide eyed face.
Pavarti is positioning herself well, I think. Time wil tell…
NEVER take a leadership role. Happened to that first guy on the black team, happened to JP. Happened in several other seasons. People resent being ordered around.
The losing team lost 3 challenges in a row with their buff 4 intact. Not sure why we should expect them to perform better after booting 1/4 of their brawn.
It looked like the one chick really sliced her thumb with the axe. Even tho she later acted as tho it wasn’t that much, I wouldn’t want to have a gash on my thumb in a wet, dirty environment like that.
I just read a novel The Secret River set in early 1800s Australia, where an aborigine used a spinning technique when starting fire. When I saw Cawboy do it, I wasn’t surprised at all, tho until just now I couldn’t remember where I had encountered it before.
Tho I dislike Parvati, I was impressed that the beef wasn’t able to unite and convince her to vote against her gender. Stephanie’s admission was stupid enough that it should have earned her an automatic trip home.
I liked that they showed the Aitu fishing bit, where Ozzy caught all those fishies, and the tribe suggested calling him Poseidon / Neptune. Because in both challenges this week – for both Reward and Immunity – his swimming abilities played a key part in the wins. (Of course, Becky and Candice weighing approximately 80 lbs. combined didn’t hurt, either.)
Oh, and Ellis? You can watch the entire Survivor episode on Innertube for free, at www.cbs.com. Which is nice.
More to the point, he used the edge of the axe to shave a little pile of magnesium filings off of one side of the flint, then stacked up some tinder next to it, and struck sparks off the flint side of the flint, so the magnesium went fwoosh! and lit the tinder on fire.
as for Candice’s acting job: She seemed to be in danger of being booted. Instead of letting it happen, the other tribe sent her to E.I., thus forcing her tribe to vote off a stronger (better?) player. When she came back, someone mentioned they saw that as a strategic move by the other guys. Then Candice gets all wide eyed and awed voice sounding saying, “Ooh! I hadn’t thought of that.” Either she is a terrible actress, fooling no one with her surprise at that idea, or she really was surpised, making her seem rather stupid in either case.
Good thing the Buff Boys tribe lost immunity last night; from the previouslies, it looks like Flicka might have strained something with all the serious thinking Johnathan made her do, and she needed a break.
I’m glad they voted JP out-- he was getting annoying. The shocker was that the blond guy voted for him, too! Looks like the girl alliance is going to rule the roost from now on.
