Post your predictions here!! Will Jon get the boot first thing and leave the 3 women going to the last IC? Will Darrah keep winning ICs, giving her control over who goes to the final 2? Will there be fistfights at the reunion show when they talk about Jon’s Big Lie? Will Osten be allowed to attend, having “quit” rather than be voted out?
You didn’t post your own predictions Jadis. They have to be better than mine, I have a horrible track record. Instead, I’ll post my wishful thinking. I’d like to see Lillian go next, and the final IC as something that doesn’t have to do with balance to give Jon a fighting chance.
I’d like to see Darrah out after that, leaving Sandra and Jon as the final two. I disagree with some who have posted Sandra finally woke up. I think she’d been trying to make an alliance with the women since before Rupert was ousted. I thought her sneaking around was risky, and whether I’d do something like that or not, it deserves a nod.
Sandra is my favorite, but I wouldn’t mind if Jon won either. I never liked him, but I think he’s done some good manoeuvering. Unless Lillian wins, I see this season as an enjoyable one. Even with the outcast stunt, I’d be okay with it. I don’t care about Darrah one way or the other, but would rather see her win over Lil as well.
My wishful thinking-- Jon gets boiled alive with the bones of his dead gramma. Sandra wins it over Darrah. Lilli will find something to smile about. Or at least get that stink out of her nose. I could understand Darrah when she talks.
chichlidiot, I didn’t post my own predictions because I’ve been reading spoiler sites and I don’t think I can post an unbaised opinion on what I think will happen. I’m looking forward to the reunion show more than the actual finale, I think.
I keep seeing people saying how well Jon has played this game, and I’m not sure I agree…IMO, playing this game well means you get to the end with a chance of winning. I think Jon has betrayed too many people and is personally abrasive, which I think is going to be his death knell. I respect scheming when its done in such a way that people still like you when it’s all over. And, as it typical of this game, there’s a large dose of luck as well…if Jon were physically strong, there’s no way he’d have lasted this long. The only reason he’s been passed up for the boot a number of times is because the choice was between the physically strong schemer, and Jon, whom many people see as having woman-like strength (note all of the times that they chose Christa to compete is strength challenges over Jon).
I don’t think Jon is even close to one of the best players ever, and I hope he gets booted first thing tonight and doesn’t even get close to second place.
Aha! Well, I’ve read a few spoilers as well, but it hasn’t seemed to help my predicitons. heh I think you make a great point about Jon, him possibly not being able to garner the votes at the end. I also agree he isn’t one of Survivor’s best players ever. I guess it is that though, like Keith, he’s been kept around because everyone hates him, he has still managed to convince quite a few people to trust him, when it was in all likelihood the worst decision possible from the other players’ standpoints.
I sort of doubted he would have taken Burton with him to the final two, if it came down to him having that option. I think Lil would’ve kept trusting him as well, if Burton had been a better liar. I think Darrah really believed him when he lied through his teeth to her as well.
That said, I don’t care much about him either. I saw more of him, and feel he did work harder than Darrah (keeping in mind her IC wins). It’s close for me though, but that’s why I put him in the final two with Sandra. With the loopy jury votes IMHO from previous seasons, I wouldn’t be suprised if Rupert came back, and Jon still won the $ over him.
I’ve been thinking about the whole “Darrah doesn’t deserve to win, she just rode coattails” objections, and I think that’s sort of short-sighted. See, I do think that Darrah did her thing around camp, as I haven’t seen anyone complain about her being lazy. Riding someone’s coattails politically can be (and probably is) the smartest move you can make in this game. If you see people scheming, allowing yourself to be carried along with the majority gets you another three days out of each round of ICs, and most importantly, you don’t make enemies.
If you pay close enough attention to how sentiment is running against certain people, and you’re viewed as politically weak, you can shift alliances to save your skin without pissing people off. I think Darrah has done this. Combined with her run of ICs, I think she’s positioned herself well for not only getting herself into the final 3, but winning the jury’s pick as well. That’s where I think Jon has failed…he schemed, but people hate him for it.
Last week I said that I didn’t want Darrah to win. I didn’t think she was doing anything to stay in the game and after reading Burton’s chat transcript I’ve decided that she has been playing the game…just doing it very subtlely. If she wins, I won’t be upset. I’d still rather see Sandra win though.
I’d love to see Sandra win, if it can’t be her then I hope Darrah gets it. As much as I dislike Jon I would be happier to see him win than Lil. Lil by far is my least favorite - she is always such a sourpuss.
How about a few spoilers (in spoiler boxes, of course).
I can’t wait for the reunion show. (I think I might take a nap to insure that I can make it that late) Jon has a lot of explaining to do, as does Sandra with the fish incident.
The line at Acme Brain Trust (and this is what I’ve been hearing since about mid-season) is that Jon gets booted out of the final four, with Darrah winning the IC. Darrah also wins the IC for the final three, and chooses to take Lill with her to the final vote. Darrah wins all.
I’m not sure anyone really knows who’s going to win. I think it just depends on the site. Survivornews.net thinks Darrah is the first bootee, then Jon, and Sandra victorious in the final 2 against Lill.
It’s pretty clear the spoiler sites are equally divided
between Darrah and Sandra
as the final winner. Personally, as long as Lill doesn’t win, I can deal with it. I hate Jon with a passion even I can’t believe, but at least he’s tried to play the game in his sick, twisted way. Poor, dear Lill has just stumbled along hanging onto some man in hopes of making it further in the game, with zero comprehension of the alliance-shifting that makes Survivor what it is.
Even though I don’t like Jon, I seriously think he has a chance to win if he makes it to the final two. If he gives his final word on how he has “played the game” I think the others might respect that and vote for him. This may only be true if he’s up against Lil or Sandra, since both of them have votes against them (for being an outcast and for being a bitch). If he’s up against Darrah it’ll be a tough call.
I’ve liked Sandra from day 1, I hope she gets it. It was nice of Lill to choose her over Jon though, but either way I think (and hope to God) Lill is toast. Outcasts - arg!!!
I agree. His best bet, if he makes to the end, is to completely come clean and hope the jury respects him instead of despises him. But I think the girl alliance will hold and they’ll boot him if he doesn’t win the IC. Sandra and Lil are hopelessly unfit, so I’m guessing Darrah will IC her way to the end, and choose Sandra to go with her. Darrah then wins.
