I thought it showed that she still would’ve lost. Didn’t only two people raise their hands?
Yeah. And I noticed in the voting montage, you only saw one person (Bruce) actually write her name down, and that’s one of the two votes for her that were shown on the live show. The other one was Shane’s, since she “won” the number challenge. I guess we’ll never know, but I wonder if those were the only two votes cast for her.
So it seems there was no way in hell she would have won. But don’t the top 3 or 4 still get a pile of money? I wouldn’t feel too bad about that if I were her.
So, what we saw was BEFORE you knew for sure whether or not Aras had won? That’s pretty lame (not on your part, I mean on the producers part for making you fake it). How hard would it have been to simply film your real reactions? I hate TV.
I was browsing through the CBS website, and found the “real time” recap of the finale. I love how they distill the TC gabbery to its essence. For example:
:snerk!:
Yep. To be fair, we were told to basically just go crazy for the camera, as if Aras had won. I didn’t know that this was actually when they’d be showing it. I thought they’d have footage scattered throughout the reunion episode of Terry’s finale party and Danielle’s, as well.
We were told afterwards that, over the past five years, we were the most vocal and energetic group they’ve had. So I’ve got that going for me.
My only left over question is: Did InShane go back to smoking?
…well…Two questions…
- Didn’t anyone teach him how to dress. Ever?
- The only survivor competitor who looked Worse in the Reunion show.
Where Do you get a haircut like that? State Hospital? I was enjoying his rendidtion
of a young Rev. Jim, tho.
I shall miss Shane.
Okay … I will admit that I didn’t watch, but I do have a question: Where are they going next? They usually do the reveal at the end of the reunion show. Please, oh please, tell me it isn’t another “recycled” location. I really want to like this show again …
Hmm. Sounds interesting and perhaps promising. Looks like Burnett is heading back towards home. Fun Fact: According the the CIA World Factbook entry on the Cook Islands, the country’s entire annual budget appears to be less than what I spend in a year on Mountain Dew alone.
There’s actually a Survivor item on their news page.
Yeah, butter face…
I loved the Rev. Jim mugging he did when he was voted off. Priceless!
I was just glad to see Aras w/o that stupid faux-hawk.
Don’t know why that bugged me so much that he would peak up his hair immediately every time he got it wet.
Barely recognized him on the reunion - looked babyfaced, and a little pudgy.
And Danielle decided to go all matronly after weeks of flaunting her extremely Playboy-worthy assets.
Which issue do you think she’ll be in, and how much do you think she’ll be paid?
I actually forgot to watch it. I remembered this morning in the shower.
That worked for Jenna and Sondra. It’s a valid strategy.
Dude, these people were eating snails, worms and raw fish like corn on the cob. If they had a disgusting food challenge, they would have fought harder to win that than they did the digging-bags-in-the-sand challenge. They learned this lesson last season with the baluts, because Ian kept asking for more of them in future challenges… and those people were actually eating.
Also, when the heck did they get that hawaiian sling?
I notice that Terri didn’t have any words of mature wisdom about how the love of a parent and child pales in comparison to that of a husband and wife while they were letting Tina talk about her son.
Oh, and I never made the Reverend Jim connection. It’s been bugging me all season, wondering where I’ve seen him before…
“whaaaat…
doooooessss…
a yellloooooww…
liiight…
meeeeeeannnn!”
Makes perfect sense now.
Sadly, she has a pretty face except for the prominent gumline.
At every tribal council I remember, they show all the votes cast for the loser, as that heightens the drama. You don’t think he’s picking those votes out of that jug at random, do you? They’re stacked in such a way to let Jeff say,“Two for Danielle, two for Aras.” Also any votes they show people writing down during the vote are the first ones picked out of the jug.
Yeah, that was a highlight of the season, except I never thought for a moment that they were real.
Does anybody else think that the final immunity challenge wasn’t fair across the board?
It was totally skewed depending on how much you weigh. All 3 people had pretty much equal balancing skills, but Danielle weighed the least, so her platform was above water and Terry and Aras’ platfroms were under the water.
I think a traditional pure endurance challenge would have been better. Then we would have seen a Terry/Aras final two. It would have been interesting to see how the voting would have went there!

Well, I know that Aras is planning on paying off his dad’s mortgage with his winnings, and getting his brother a car. Think he is planning on investing the rest (the kid does have his MBA).
Also, he’s starting up his own online business, based on his final MBA marketing project: www.tundragear.com (not intended to be marketing spam, honestly).
The fact that he actually started this up before winning last night made me think he hadn’t made it to the final two…
