Zzzzzzz. Wake up, everyone, Survivor: Most Boring Ever is on again tonight.
My digital guide says:
The remaining castaways are divided into two groups of three and compete in an underwater obstacle course Reward Challenge. The winners of that part advance and compete for a truck. I wonder just which ugly-ass truck they win this time?
Sounds interesting.
From the previews, we see Shane becoming more InShane, playing with a rock like it’s a BlackBerry, and his teammates questioning his sanity. Yeah, I’ve been questioning his sanity all along.
I hope we get some news of Bruce. I hope the poor guy is okay.
I have lost almost all interest in this season’s cast. I continue to watch it much like I watch a cat stalking a squirrel. I know the cat won’t catch the squirrel, but it’s fun to watch the way the cat shows its frustration after it’s over.
I suspect my vote for Terry at this stage is like a vote for Wolf Blitzer for president. Therefore, I honestly do not care who wins the million. I had been pulling for Bruce, but he’s gone. Now it’s going to be a loser who wins, regardless.
I’ll take theminority position and say the season hasn’t been that bad, and has considerable potential still.
Yeah, it ended up as a boring Pagonging, but the tribe that should have been dominant pretty much brought it on themselves. Did the whole thing turn on the rocket scientist’s puzzling abilities?
At least the dominant group has enough oddballs to keep things lively (tho none of them is particularly likeable). And the first 1/2 - 2/3 of last week was among the best ever.
And Terry is the dominant competitor you love to hate, but definitely have to give considerable credit to (for his performance, at least, tho his strategizing and people skills leave something to be desired.)
I’m looking forward to some real entertainment as these idiots realize they have to start feeding on each other. And this 3 on 3 reward challenge could really get the backstabbing started.
I’ll guess Danielle goes this week. No real reason why, other than I imagine the others wanting to keep inShane or Courtney for the final 2. I would imagine Terry trying to target Danielle or Aras as his biggest threat for challenges, but I doubt he is competent enough to figure anything out.
I note the adds have been presented in a way to suggest Terry loses the IC which apparently involves kneeling while holding a suspended weight - showing him dive into the water. Of course, since they don’t show whether anyone else was still in it when he gave up, it doesn’t really prove anything. I have a hard time imagining anyone else outlasting Terry in such a challenge.
I’ll take the minority position and say I kinda like Terrry to win. Sure, he’s a chauvinistic SOB, but it’d serve the rest of them right if he outlasted all of them and walked away with the million dollars. I can’t stand Shane, I hate Courtney, Cirie is just okay. She’s come a long way since that first episode when she was afraid of leaves.
At this point, the only one I like is Aras.
The previews do show Terry falling off a platform into the water, and the VO saying something about him finally losing (not that exactly, but something to that effect), but he still has the Emergency Backup Idol. I could see him taking a fall on purpose to make the rest of them try to vote him out, make him use the EBI, and then have to vote someone else out - and it’d be whoever he voted for, right?
It would go like this: He loses Immunity on purpose, they all vote for him, he votes for Shane, he pulls out the EBI, and then it’s Shane who goes - or whoever he voted for - whoever got the rest of the votes at that Tribal Council, right?
He has to use it before the Final Four, is that right? And they’re down to six, so maybe he figures he better use it.
And the Challenge they’re showing could be part of the RC, so who knows. The Promo Monkeys would never try to mislead us, would they… ?
My vote for Most Boring Season would go to Vanuatu. At least last season we had Judd, the good sportsmanship.
And this season… eh, the people left are mostly unappealing (although I love Cirie a little bit). I’m rooting for Terry, just to see how far he can go with not a single ally.
If I had to predict, I agree that Danielle will go tonight. Perhaps we see Courtney, Danielle and Shane vote for Terry, Terry vote for Aras, and Aras convincing Cirie to vote with him for Danielle. That forces Terry to use the idol and protects Aras from getting booted, sacrificing Danielle instead.
I’m willing to bet money that, if Terry actually does lose a “real” (i.e., competitive) challenge tonight, then it is a Reward Challenge. Because he might be a Chauvinistic Asshat, but he is no Fool. You already know he knows what happens to the Guy Who Wins The Car. (And I wouldn’t bet a lot of money, either, because I just. Don’t. Care. Enough.)
I don’t know the details, but my understanding is that a major internent gambling site is no longer taking bets on who the final winner will be because of a sudden, widespread increase in betting on a particular individual. They think there’s been a leak. (Scooter Libber and Karl Rove strike again! )
Huh. I stand corrected. Terry is, in fact, a Fool. And a Goddamned Fool, at that. Jerk. I really want to like him, but I just can’t. I can tolerate creeps, but I can’t abide the stupid.
Is it too late to place a bet on Probst to go postal and slay them all?
Is this thread graded on a curve? Do I get any credit for being half right? I knew he would win immunity, I just knew it. Damned fool. He’s toast. Even if he makes it to F2, they’re not voting to give him the money, just out of spite. Damn it all to hell – this is like All-Stars, only even more boring, and Terry is the new Boston Rob, and I hate them both! Damn, damn, damn!
Seriously, whatever happened to our show? (In Spamalot, there’s a song about this.)
Oh, it doesn’t surprise me. I’m related to and work with women like her. They all need to be slapped. Sigh … and, sadly, some actual intrigue still can’t save the show. God, this is so depressing. What happened?
** adhemar**, a tentative alliance had been formed with Terry, Danielle, Courtney and Cirie. Cirie realized how many other players wanted to take Courtney to the end because she was so unliked. With Terry holding immunity, Shane was pushing to vote out Danielle, and Terry was pushing to vote off Aras as he always has. Cirie went to Danielle and Aras and organized them to vote out Courtney. As the votes were read, Terry, Shane and Courtney were all shocked.
For a boring season where I’ve bothered to watch maybe half the episodes, I thought that this one was reasonably interesting. Terry is still there to drive Shane nuts, but Terry didn’t get what he wanted by controlling his new “alliance”. And Shane who delusionally thinks he’s in charge didn’t get what he wanted either.
Oh, and Terry won a Yukon in the reward challenge, no doubt confirming he’s not going to take the million.
Cirie’s stock went up in my estimation because she’s figured out that Courtney was her biggest threat. Of course, soon people are going to realize that SHE’s actually the biggest threat because she’s so likeable. Or rather, she’s not UNlikeable, like everyone left except perhaps Aras. Her catching the fish was cute.
I felt bad for Courtney. Being told you’re the most obnoxious, etc., has got to hurt. Then she got voted off by the women she trusted. Ouch.
