I agree. With Terry being the odd-one out for so long, I’m sure he thought that if he gave D the idol that he’d be voted off 3-1
By the way, the crap D gave Terry about “If you gave me the idol . . .” was total BS. Did she forget that he taught he how to make fire so she could beat Cirie? It wasn’t the idol but it was enough to get her to the final 3.
As I mentioned several weeks ago, I had a chat with one of the editors of the show, and he said that Terry was an even bigger asshat than he came off on the show…arrogant and a total prick…and that he and his fellow editors were all rooting for Aras to go all the way.
Yeah, I gotta agree with Lockseer on that. Editing can only do so much, and it was obvious to Mr. singular and I that the guy was a jerk. In fact, Mr. singular only strolls in the room occasionally when Survivor is on, and his standard comment for the last half of the season was “Did that asshole win again?” For that to be so obvious to a casual viewer is telling.
After shafting him twice? To Terry, Danielle was a means to an end, nothing more. ISTM that Terry at least respected Aras even if he did think that he acted like a sniveling whiny butt.
I was referring to her thought processes. We all know that she was a loser against either of the men. But given a position where Aras gurantees her that he will vote against her, she may have thought she had at least some chance of Terry’s vote.
The only way Danielle could have won was to throw the final challenge. Terry falling off first was the best thing that could have happened for her. She should have immediately “slipped” and given Aras the win. She could then apologize to Terry saying how much she hoped they’d be the final two.
Aras would almost certainly have taken her to the final two over Terry. At that point Danielle would be in a decent position to talk her way into a win with her stellar salesperson skills. She’d likely have Terry’s vote. And with that could come Austin and Sally, especially Austin whom she bonded with on Janu Island. With Bruce’s vote, that’s enough to win it.
