I think Candice is a hero(ine) for switching teams. Penner joined her. I don’t get it. I heard they flipped her and Sandra, actually.
I only remember Danielle for her buggy eyes. No idea what’s up with her.

I remember that awful, awful pink and white KC Chiefs straw cowboy hat she wore the ENTIRE DAMN SEASON!
Probst’s blog is up. It seems he, too, didn’t think Sugar was up to doing Survivor again.
I think Candice is a villain, but she’s so damn good that she’s got the producers thinking she’s a hero!
I loved Parvati calling Russel out on his strategy. She has him cold, but she should use it earlier rather than sit on the information. Russell’s strategy is to convince everyone that they are his final 2 dream and she can blow the lid on that one at anytime. Of course I’d love to see him be final 2 and then lose again.
Remember, too, that he doesn’t really know yet that this (and his sharing of his general opinion of his tribemates at tribal) wasn’t a winning strategy. The outcome of his season wasn’t revealed until after this current HvV season was already over. He doesn’t know he lost. He doesn’t know WHY he lost. I don’t think he made it to Final 2 in the current season, because he was really, really upset when he didn’t win Samoa…more so than if he thought there was a chance of him still winning HvV.
Of course, this is speculation, not spoilage.
UFR, It was Michelle in the Fiji islands and she used glasses, not brute force.
I believe that first incident of anyone on survivor making fire w/o flint or something easier.
I forget - did Rupert always sound that hammered, or is he into the painkillers for his toe? He seemed totally out of it…
I never got the love for Rupert. He always struck me as delusional and incoherant. Sort of like a male Shambo.
From Dalton Ross’s blog:
I don’t know what you mean either, but I share your hope that we don’t have to witness it.
Put me down as someone who really loves Boston Rob now. He really has grown…
Basically, I hope he wins. And I think he will because his seasons of Survivor were so long ago that no one’s really paying attention to him. Plus, he’s got Sandra, Coach and probably Jerri in his pocket. Parvati probably knows she’s better with Boston Rob than Russel as well.
Russel’s little beady eyes never stop conniving.
Rob is indeed becoming quite the little butterfly. I hope he’s ok.
I thought the smear-the-survivor challenge was awesome and I was floored that Coach was able to manhandle Colby like that.
Man, I am so loving this season already.
So many great players: Russell, Cirie, J.T., Amanda, Parvati, Tom…
So many entertaining players: Russell, Cirie, James, Randy, Tyson, Coach, Rupert…
And the one I had the least interest in seeing again gone in the first episode. (Though the topless flip-off was endearing…)
I think Russell knows his old tricks won’t work again. As he’s said, he’s not with “dummies” anymore. At first I was surprised he didn’t look for idols again, and though maybe they edited it out, but in retrospect, I doubt he bothered. The players might not know him, but the producers do, and he’s smart enough to know they won’t let him pull that stunt so easily again.
Not enough snide comments from Randy yet. I hope they’ll come soon.
My wife didn’t remember Tyson at all until he said that Colby “might as well just become a woman [for being beaten by Coach]”. and then she instantly said, “oh yeah, now I remember him.” Another confessional star.
Good to see that Cirie gets some well-deserved respect from the Tom et al, even though it paints a target on her.
I love those physical challenge too, a guilty pleasure, I guess. My wife hates them.
I’d forgotten how endearing James is…
(I’m compelled to mention that Hot-Amanda is hot as ever… and it seems she learned from her past mistakes a bit. Still brought out the doe-eyes once at tribal, though.)
Ruffian, by my count, there are 4 winners (Tom, J.T., Parvati, Sandra) and a whopping 8 who were in the finals (Sugar, Amanda(twice), Danielle, Colby, Russell, Stephenie, Boston Rob, Courtney), with most (all?) of the others having at least made the jury. It truly is a good bunch of players, IMHO.
Yeah, I’m really digging this season already too. I think it’s more fun when you already know the players, and they’re all great, in their own way… I doubt we’ll be going into the finals thinking “man, I wish X would get eliminated already, they contribute nothing to this game at all.”
It’s certainly also a bit mind-boggling that Colby is a decade older from when we first saw him. I feel old.

I thought Danielle was from the Guatemala season? Won it, in fact. Different Danielle?
Danni the sportscaster won Guatemala. This is Danielle from Panama.
I don’t remember her either.
Danielle was the Panama runner-up, according to both the CBS/Survivor website and Wikipedia. (Panama winner was Danni Boatwright). According to Wikipedia, the Guatemala winner was somebody named Aras Bauskaskas, who has completely escaped my recollection.
Are we reading the same Wikipedia entry for Survivor Guatemala? I see this:
Danni Boatwright became the sole survivor by defeating Stephenie LaGrossa by a vote of 6-1.
Aras Baskauskas won Survivor Panama. I think you’ve got it backwards.
I screwed up Aras The Irrelevant, but I got Danielle right.

Wiki for Survivor:
Guatemala: Danni and Stephenie
Panama: Aras and Danielle
oh, and my guess for Rob’s injury is some sort of venomous creature bite.
