I’m just relieved that there’s no way for Jason to win!
I could stomach any of the remaining ones winning. Even Joe, though he’d probably be the least deserving ever, at least he’s not been repulsive.

Not that I’m upset he’s gone, but I was puzzled by Jason’s vote for Joe. I know he didn’t trust Tai, but if there was any chance at all that he could have helped himself stay in the game by taking his advice, I’m surprised he wasn’t all over it.
Of course it didn’t matter in the end, but if Tai had gotten one more person on board with his Michelle plan, Jason would have essentially sent himself home.
its wide open…anybody’s game. whoever steps up, gets the million.
I loved those challenges. I continue to lament the fact that no one has created a theme park where you can go try your hand at *Survivor *challenges (the fun ones, that is–not “stand in an uncomfortable position until you collapse”).
Well not Joe, but yes, I could see any of the others winning.
I thought maybe he was trying to force a tie, assuming that there would be three for himself, three for Michelle.
Jason stated in interviews that he knew his vote did not matter and that he voted for Joe because he felt that Joe did not deserve to be there. Maybe we’ll get confirmation of what happened from the next person out of the game.
What, another Medical? That’s no good.
Doesn’t matter now, but before Joe left, I kept wondering why Cidney, Thai and the other girl (Michelle?) didn’t team up against Joe and Aubry. The two are so tight, they need to be separated. And I’d aim for getting Aubry out first.
Most boring episode of the season. Not that there was a whole lot they could do with it.
So Tai has one last chance to use his idol next week, right?
No, Probst addressed that here. The 5->4 TC was the last chance to use it. So even though that TC didn’t happen, the idol is no longer active.
If you like crying, it was The Bomb!
Sad to see Joe go, but at least he went out on a high note, having won a challenge.
He did good for his age! Kudos.
Missed most of the episode because of tornado warnings in the area.
But I guess I missed a boring episode.
It looks like a final two this season. If it is a final three, the 2 hour finale is really going to drag on
Is he the oldest contestant ever? I wonder if his age-related issues will result in a lower max age in the future.
(I’m still not sure how one day constipation can cause your bladder to back up…or what that has to do with your prostate…but IANAD).
At age 75, Rudy Boesch was the oldest contestant ever, second run.
Trust me, it can. The Deity had a good laugh on us guys when he ran the tube thru the prostate.
I was watching the episode and when they were having the feast, I immediately thought “Shouldn’t they worry about refeeding syndrome?” I had recently written something for a client about it, so I realized that they fit the critieria. In simple terms, refeeding syndrome is the body’s bad reaction to a sudden ingestion of food after a prolonged period of little to none. The worst examples are from situations like POWs and Nazi death camps, but it can happen to people in less extreme situations. The solution is to slowly increase small amounts of foods and certain nutrients, while closely monitoring the body’s reaction.
Joe gorged at the feast, and sure enough, the next day Joe is in a bad situation. I don’t have any idea if it actually was refeeding syndrome or just a bad case of constipation, but it did make me think that these feasts after days of nearly starving might not be such a good idea.
Getting Aubrey out is definitely a good idea for Michelle and Cidney but Joe was the ultimate “take to the jury” guy. He’s been playing for second or third place the whole show.
Not sure if it actually qualified as that, but he sure didn’t use very good judgment here.
You probably want to eat mostly carbs because those are typically easy to digest and can be absorbed by the liver and muscles in fairly large quantities. But be very careful with from fats because you need enough bile to digest those. Not sure about protein, but I don’t think an overdose is helpful as the body can’t really store proteins.
I was thinking at the start of the challenge “this is one Joe could actually win… not that he will, but he could.” Sure enough… he pulled it out, at his own pace. And the nit led to him going home, heh.
Makes the final much more interesting though… I can see any of those four winning.
