Survivor Season 43

After the first stage of the immunity challenge, when they were having the kumbaya moment, I fully expected Jerry Lewis to show up and start a telethon.

Looks like Dwight left with Jeanine’s idle. Someone on reddit said Probst confirmed that, saying you aren’t allowed to trade advantages while the votes are being read.

I guess that’s the risk you take when playing musical idols to avoid the Knowledge is Power advantage. I hadn’t thought of that.

I honestly can’t figure out why Dwight was the target. Of the three who got votes (The three black guys? Did they not watch last season?), he seemed the least likely to be a threat in the game.
Although, I haven’t really figured out all the alliance dynamics in play yet. Everyone still seems kind of all over the place.

Yeah you could see Jeanine keep reaching behind her hoping he would hand it to her. But I seem to recall that isn’t allowed at that point (confirmed above apparently).

Very fun and exciting reward challenge. Too bad it wasn’t for immunity.
But they were right; if Noelle made it to the end, no one would beat her.

Jesse seems to be getting the winner’s edit. We’ll see.

I love the edit of his “blindside checklist.” The editors have been having some fun with that and Owen’s list of advantages.

So to be clear, Dwight didn’t leave the game with Jeanine’s idol, but instead gave it to Jesse before being voted out. And nobody knows this. Do I have that right?

  1. Interesting contest. Enjoyed it a lot.
  2. Dagnabbit. Sammy was my favorite.

True.

And they have dumped all the Survival stuff in favor of 100% plotting all the time.

Is having a tattoo now a requirement to be on the show?

Yep.

I hope not. I mean Noelle gave him that wonderful reward, and then to engineer her getting voted out is a dick move.

Winning an individual reward is pretty much a direct ticket to getting voted out.

More often than not, sure, and going along with the majority would have been okay, but engineering the take down? That is a dick weasel move.

I don’t see engineering a blind side against someone who took you on reward as a dick move any more than I see bluffing in poker as lying. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

That was some next level Survivor this past episode. If anyone is fading on the season and has it sitting on their DVR, it’s well worth watching.

It was pretty impressive. I’ve not seen a contestant stand up after being voted out and act like the wind was knocked out of him as much as we saw in this episode.

I’m still finding this to be the dullest season of Survivor in a long time(ever?). The game is mainly the same, but cast is just not that interesting to me.

Heard in an exit interview that Cody gave the HII back to Jesse voluntarily.

But Jesse might have gaslighted Cody into thinking the knowledge of Power was back in play.

Jesse might be the most heartless and impactful villain since Russell Hantz. It might be because he was a former gang member.

I don’t think Jesse has been portrayed as a villain. He’s likeable and seems to be getting a winner’s edit to me.

I really did not think that Jesse was going to pull that off. I thought he would wuss out. Absolutely dead-eyed ruthless, but he has made it clear he is playing for his family. This move really raised his profile, which is both good and bad for him.

Karla was looking good early, and I don’t think she is completely out of the running.

Dalton Ross agrees with you and so do I.

What is worse is that the show now consists entirely of them talking about who to vote off and challenges. The survival aspects, the “desert” island life, etc aspects are gone.

I do not find that weasel to be “likable”- in fact the opposite.

Everyone is playing for their family.

Yeah, until the fake tears started, she was one of our favorites.

I think the show needs to go back to 39 days and the regular format. I don’t buy creative changes as much as I buy reducing their budget for some of the changes.

I’ve never skipped through conversations, but I do this season.

Last year was great and the all-star year before that was great, but this season is a low point.

Cast never really has risen up to be as great as they probably seemed in auditions.

Yes, only the NFL players and other rich people they have had on have ever made me think, “They don’t need this money.”
