Survivor Spoilers Thread (The Sequel)

But there’s no way to know, is there? What is to stop them from deciding what challenge to offer on what day, if they think that will affect an individual’s chances?

Re: Lindsey, I’ve known some pretty tough guys in my time, and the toughest ones had the least need to proclaim how tough they were.

My heart goes out to young people everywhere who surely must be embarrassed by the Lolos that are representing them. Stupid, lazy, and myopic are just about the kindest things you can say about them.

I suspect Theresa will play sacrificial lamb and work out a plan with Frank to slip him into the merger.

With respect to the teaser surprise, I don’t recall any mention of a rules change. Why are y’all talking about a rules change? It just said watch for something never seen on Survivor, right? Couldn’t that be pretty much anything, like maybe even something trivial like a celebrity visit or something?

Please raise your hand if you’re in complete agreement with DKW.

(Munch raises his hand.)

Please raise your hand if your opinion of Clarence has completely changed.

I think that Burnett really painted Clarence in a really poor light - much poorer than eating an extra grape and stealing a can of food warranted. Granted, what he did the first week was deplorable. But I think that Boran has really gotten past this, and he’s more than made up for his failure through challenges and brute force. Also, his friendships and communications seem to be very genuine and trustworthy. It will be interesting to see alliances form in this group.

GOD Brandon is annoying. His response to Probst was just stupid! Does he realize how unconfident he comes across with his admission of co-dependancy on his “best” friends? And not co-dependant in a “I rely on these people with my life” kind of way but in a “I’m incapable of individual thought, and rely on these people to provide that for me” kind of way.

Poor Kim.

And I think that Lindsey was brushing her teeth with a stick. I noticed many people in the tribes doing the same thing, as they don’t have toothbrushes. I bet that’s an incredibly annoying feeling, not having clean teeth.

Didn’t Probst say “They thought they knew the rules” or “They thought they knew the way Survivor worked”?
Something to that effect.

I agree that he is annoying, but to play Devil’s Advocate, I would point out that there seemed to be an abrupt cut between Jeff’s question and Brandon’s answer. It may have been taken slightly out of context. He’s still an “Amber.”

Oh yeah, the “Take a knee,” routine was priceless.

Uh, OK “Coach.” It’s funny how Silas seems to think he is a master manipulator, but then everyone sees right through him.

I agree with Fiver’s points about Boran coming together. I also noticed that Tom and Clarence seem to have bonded. Hey, maybe they’ve both grown a bit.

Still, I don’t see Clarence lasting until the merger. Did you see how he performed on the “reward” challenge? The guy would just be too big a threat in individual immunity challenges to let him stick around that long.

I got a kick out of it when Clarence was pretty much openly mocking Tome when he tried to haul his fat ass up that tree, and then they almost beaned each other with rocks.

I’m so bummed I missed the tree-climbing bit! I think they did paint Clarence in a bad light to begin with–he seems like a great, go-to, team kind of guy now. The whole tribe seems to be getting along well, they know what they need to do, nobody is lazing around…they are so much more appealing than the other tribe.

Speaking of the morons (the 4 young ones)–I hate them all. I wish a lion would eat them. Well…maybe not Kim, but just because she has annoyed me the least. But Lindsay? Come on! Stop telling us how tough you are. I’m sure it was real tough having to put up with a BMW for your 16th birthday instead of a Mercedes. Ugh. And Silas…I really wanted to like him, but he is such a smarmy, cheesy blockhead! He may be cute but there is NOBODY home upstairs. And then there is Brandon. I hate him the most. I wish a Cape Buffalo would gore him. He is such s snotty little bitch! Why does he perpetually look on the verge of tears? And in TC when Jeff tried to ask a question, Brandon just cuts him off completely and says he’s never alone. Don’t want to give your bead-mates any wrong ideas! Sheesh. Maybe he’ll fall in the fire and get taken away. Then I might be able watch a whole episode without retching. Naah.

Oh, and finally…please note that I’m WINNING the Survivor Pick 'Em! Yee haw! You may all bow before my superior judgement. (not)

Exactly! If Sumbubu (sic intended) loses the next immunity challenge, what is to stop Teresa or Frank from telling the other tribe that Lindsey has 4 votes and Silas has 3? Is there anything in the rules against that? I remember Kimmi spilled the beans in Survivor 2, but that was unintentional. Cause, let me tell ya, if I were Frank or Teresa, I’d be DAMNED if I’d go down without taking those bratty youngsters with me.

Now, about the rumored rule change. Remember when Boran won the reward challenge Jeff told them that they now had enough water for each of them to drink one gallon a day “until the merge.” 1) It seems the rule change happened AFTER that. 2) If they do switch the tribes around now, it would be very unfair to the Boran members who won the water (which, face it, is the most important factor right now given that Sumbubu broke all their water jugs…) to take that water away…

“Even if you’ve watched every episode of Survivor, next thursday, get ready for a Survivor first! Every Friendship, every alliance will be shattered. The Survivors thought they knew the game, But the game has changed forever! Don’t miss the first 15 minutes of an all new Survivor!”

Sounds like the game’s gonna change to me.

I missed a part if this scene. Did the oldies deliberately not wake them up in time? Was the challenge earlier in the day?
What would have happened if a team didn’t show up for a challenge? Would they forfeit, I guess?

How are the Sambooby-heads boiling their water now? Will Jeff ask for their luxury items in exchange for another pot?

CHEATER! Oh sure, we’d all be kicking your ass, Sunshine, if we had started on time, but nooo-ooooo, you had get a 30 pt. lead!

Ugh. I liked Samburu at first. But what a bunch of morons! I was also rooting for Lindsey, 'cuz she’s from my town. But I now officially renounce my allegiance. What a clueless bitch! What was the deal with her “laying down the law” to the oldsters after the TC? Of course, the oldsters aren’t much better. Deliberately sabotaging the team out of spite!

However: Yea! Linda is gone!! I think she was even more annoying than Jerri was.

My pick for the winner: Lex.

Ha! I knew there was something to be said for punctuality!

Well, yeah, but the game could change in all kinds of ways for all kinds of reasons aside from rules changes. I just don’t understand why it’s automatically assumed the rules will change.

The game would be “changed forever” if:

[li] someone died[/li]
[li] an area became overrun with wild game or other danger[/li]
[li] something happened to MB[/li]
and lots and lots of other things.

If someone had died on Survivor, don’t you think it would have made the news?

Not necessarily. A crew member or beloved native might have died, causing problems for the game. Honestly, are mine ever the only handy ankles?

Okay, I’ve read that about eight times now, and I still have no idea what it means.

Inside joke for my favorite little Chihuahua.

Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee…
