SW: Clone Wars - Best kept secret in the universe

That was pretty cliche, but it still worked for me, too. It also did more to establish their relationship in 2 seconds than Lucas could do in four and a half hours. Go Genndy!

I liked it, although I was a little disappointed that each episode is a chapter in a bigger story. I thought they’d each be little independent plot arcs, focusing on periphreal characters from the movies. Still, I’ll keep watching. Loved the preview for the next episode!

The only thing that annoyed me was how Palpatine was portrayed. His character is one of the few that has really worked for me in the prequel films, and this was primarily due to his powerful charisma and appearance of honesty and wisdom (despite the audience knowing his evil within). The cartoon, on the other hand, does everything but put a “Hi, I’m a bad guy” sticker on his robe. When he actually did the Mr. Burns finger tapping thing, I nearly burst out laughing.

Other than that, the cartoon was very well done. I liked the stylized character designs, especially for Obi-Wan and Anakin, and the action definitely had that distinctive Genndy Tartakovsky flair.

That’s the exact same thing I thought when I saw the show. So short! Especially the music snippets and the clip of next week’s show at the end.

Overall, I liked it. It’s not amazing, but it’s pretty cool for what it is.

They replayed Ep. 1 Saturday just before Kenshin but it’s not on their schedule.

I’m not sure how they’ll work in the other episodes for repeats. Or maybe they’re planning on having two streams. One 5 days a week on weekdays. And a second on their saturday SVES programming spread over 20 weeks.

Or maybe the saturday showing was just this one time. I can’t find any info on this saturday showing.

How?

Com’on, what happen?

Huh?

Oh, the Separatists launched a chemical attack on one of the moons of Naboo. (Seems that Boss Nass had the Gungans relocate there after Episode I.) They would have attacked Naboo itself, but were stopped by the efforts of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Alpha the happy clone.

(Actually, they may not ALL be dead–I know that Boss Nass is alive in the time of the Empire, as he appears in the Star Wars Galaxies game. But it’s safe to say that you shouldn’t expect many Gungans to appear after Episode II, unless Senator Jar Jar gets a cameo in Episode III.)

AAAAAAAGH!!!

It’s dubbed! Dubbed I tell you!

cleans out ears with paint thinner

Where was I? Oh yes, I saw the first episode today (CN Europe). As I may have mentioned, it was dubbed into Dutch, which is a decidedly negative point in this case, but overall, it seemed promising. Not overly so, and I agree on the whole “foreshadowing of evil” thing: while better done than in ep I and II, it wasn’t very subtle. I’m gonna keep watching it.
