Hmm…anybody mind if I tag along? Looks like I should be free that day.
Okay. Well, Pioneer Square isn’t exactly tiny, so someone had better point me in the right direction. AND…as anyone who has ever met me knows (and this should include several of you) I am extremely directionally challenged, so I probably need more help along these lines than most. Apparently, I’m cuter than I am bright. [sub]and I’m not all that cute, either…[/sub]
I also don’t have a clue where Chinooks is located. Well, the sad fact is, I think I can get my self to Pioneer Square, but from there I’m clueless.
Oh, and…I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we would love to have you join us!
I am with ** Scotticher ** I would be there in a heart beat – just a trip over the bridge man! Maybe an address would be in order – you know – for Map Quest and stuff? But I would LOVE to be there. In fact I will be there. that is if I knew where THER was. If I am not mistaken I suggested this in December but it was too cold then – now spring has sprung – and we got “outta-towners” this ought to be a blast! Count me IN!
Oh – BTW – Hawk has to come! It wouldn’t be the same without him! Trust me.
Dinner at Chinook’s 6:30
Chinooks is at fisherman’s terminal. At the south end of the Ballard Bridge (15th Street) turn west its at the second light.
Jason and Walter (the recluse) are both excited about eating in public…
Aguecheek If you e-mail me please be sure to make a SDMB reference in the subject line, or my spam dog might eat it.
YAY Scotticher is coming! Here’s hoping JohnnyLA can join us too but I can understand the work thing. Saltire, Hunter Hawk and Janx I’m glad y’all are coming too.
I feel so special, being the one to unite all you Seattle/NW Dopers and gettin’ to see everybody too. The underground tour looks to be a lot of fun. Aguecheek has done a fantastic job organizing stuff. He’s been really busy at work but still understands that organizing a Dopefest is top priority.
A week from tomorrow! WOOHOO!!!
Ack! More people! Augh!
Alright. Getting busier here, so it’s gonna be a quick post.
Saltire, unfortunately, I will not be at trivia night, as I will be in D.C. for a meeting. I’ll post that to the thread after this one. I don’t know if Lady Cheek will be going or not. Don’t worry about getting me ahead of time, we can settle up on the Day; it’s no problems.
All right:
We’ll meet at Doc Maynard’s, which is right above the ticket office to the underground tour, located at 608 First Ave in Pioneer Square: http://www.undergroundtour.com/ I will send around my cell phone number via e/mail if you can’t find it.
picunurse is correct in that dinner is at Chinook’s (1900 W Nickerson St.) As mentioned earlier - beer/buy your underground ticket at 3, tour at 4, dinner at 6:30.
Janx, Hunter Hawk, I’m assuming you’re in for Underground and dinner? If so, make sure you’re there in time to by your tickets (that goes fer allaya!) If it’s just dinner, no worries, I’ll add you to the ever growing list of dinner attendees. Scotti and Johnny L.A. will also be added.
Uh-oh!
Okay, I tried to make reservations yesterday. The bad news: they don’t take reservations that far in advance, and even if they did, they don’t take reservations for “peak hours” which start at 5:00.
Good news: the nice lady who answered the phone told me that she’d expect a wait of about 1/2 an hour (which isn’t bad, considering…). And, that’ll allow for last minute additions to the ever-expanding group of people we’re collecting. Seems we’ve got a good knack for picking reservation-less places, doesn’t it?
At any rate, I’m getting packed up to go to DC, and hope to have an e/mail to all participants tomorrow evening sometime. swampbear, I’m sorry I haven’t responded to your e/mail, but I have been reading them and incorporating them into what we’ve got going so far. We’ve got so far to the point of busy that I don’t even answer my wife’s e/mails or even (gasp!) my mother’s. But I do read them.
1 week to swampfest!
swampfest. I like that! Six days and counting. WOOHOO!!!
I checked the Warwick hotel website and their check-in time is 3pm, so unless we can finagle them into letting us check in early, we’ll be a mite late to Pioneer Square, but we’ll be there.
Bumba I’m counting on the fact that since it’s a Saturday the hotel might not be all that busy. Usually one can check in early on Saturdays because all the business folks and such check out on Fridays so Saturdays tend to not be that busy. Then again, The Warwick could be a really popular place with lots and lots of people there. If all else fails, I’ll just look at em with sad puppy eyes. Gets em everytime! HAH!
Since there aren’t any reservations, please put me and my husband down for definate maybes, most likely yes. I’m not sure how late he is working on Saturday but we definately would like to come, although I dont know if we can make it for 6:30. I’ll post later in the week, if thats alright, when I have an idea of his schedule. It would be great to meet everyone.
Yay cherry is a definite maybe! Aguecheek is out of town on bidness this week so he’s probably too busy to respond but I’m sure it won’t be a problem showing up last minute even, especially for dinner since we won’t have reservations. The bigger the crowd the rowdier the dopefest I always say!
I am suddenly not available on Saturday. Sorry!
Even though check in isn’t until 3:00 almost all hotels have accomadations for early arrivals. They will store your bags and take them to your room when its ready, they may even have a room where you can shower and primp in the mean time.
In his e-mail, Aguecheek said you sent a picture…With neither real names nor visuals, how will I know who to eat dinner with? I mean, besides my two, cute, gay, friends? (No, I’m not!)
Dang Cervaise! I was really looking forward to meeting one of the Masters of the Pit! As everybody knows, “The Telemarkerter Speaks, I Respond” is one of the great classics of all Pittendom.
Meh, he’s a cranky sumbitch anyways. Sorry, Cervaise. I’ll see you next week at trivia, anyways.
E/mail sent so all whose address I could find. Cherry, I got a bounce back on yours, but from what I saw of the…address, I figured you were probably funnin’ me anyways.
So anyone who got one, if you could forward it on to people whose address isn’t listed. That’d be great.
Gotta go, I’ll follow up later.
Oh I have to check what email I have listed, it’s probably not active. I’ll send you an email asap.
