Just In: Campaign Now Making Children Cry

I think this video is so precious and that poor child looks so traumatized by the whole election cycle.

So, if that link didn’t work, try this one:

Do you actually think there is a debate here? Four-year-olds have been known to cry about pretty much anything.

I think the idea under discussion is whether we should sell a whole variety of “Bronco 2012!” tee-shirts online, or if “Bronco” should just be a low-key, cool nickname for #44.

That video was bullshit. There’s no way a four-year-old knows what the hell is going on in the election. It was obviously staged by the parents or some other adult.

The video only shows that she knows that there’s two people named Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and she’s sick of hearing about them. If her parents listen to the news in front of her, then that’s not so surprising.

As I mentioned in another thread, my four-year-old knows there’s an election happening. In her case she knows this from our dinner-table conversation, not from the news (which I don’t listen to around her because too many stories start with “50 people were killed today …”)

The fact that they were filming it is a little suspicious, but I could say that about 90% of the stuff on youtube.

I don’t think Elections threads have to be debates, do they? The sticky says “Discussions of electoral strategy and tactics, political parties, individual races, poll results, political news, and U.S. politicians and public figures”. I imagine “look at this cute video I found of a kid mispronouncing Barack” counts.

IIRC, the point of the forum was to keep election discussions from swamping the other forums every four years. I assumed that included threads from IMHO and MPSIMIS as well as GD.

Humor:
a : that quality which appeals to a sense of the ludicrous or absurdly incongruous
b : the mental faculty of discovering, expressing, or appreciating the ludicrous or absurdly incongruous
c : something that is or is designed to be comical or amusing

HTH.

Yeah. Obama I can see, because he’s scary and black and foreign, but no kid has ever cried about Mitt Romney. His very visage lights up children’s faces, like Santa Claus or SpongeBob or Vincent Schiavelli.

Yes, it’s for serious debates as well as some of the more pointless and ridiculous stuff.

Whew!

I for one can not get enough of Bronco Bama. He’s an exciting and wild character. Now Mitt Romney? That’s a stupid superhero name.

That kid needs a good old fashioned smacking! I’ll give her something cry about!!

I was so hoping someone had done it and the Internet comes through again. Thank you Internet.

I give you Bronco Bama.

Poor kid. Just 4-years-old and already used up her 15 minutes!

She’s now destined to be a burnt-out junkie by the time she’s 12.

I agree that this kid is probably pretty familiar with the names from hearing them on the news or hearing adults talk. I doubt that she’s having this reaction because she’s heard one too many political ads, though. When I saw this video, the first thing that popped into my mind is that she’s probably been witnessing the adults in her life have some pretty heated arguments about the whole thing and that’s what she’s crying over.

Or she’s sick and tired of missing her cartoons because the adults have election coverage on.

Maybe its Gary Johnson’s daughter?

Of course the alternative to Obama is a president that morphs into whatever is most expedient at the moment.

The words that are written by the journalist under the video say that the girl was driving in the car with her mom with NPR on when she started crying because they started talking about the election. NPR apologized to the little girl,
