I hope we don’t have to deal with 2-hour queues when it opens up.
Are there any restrictions on having different faction toons on the same PvE server? I’d probably go ahead and roll any Imperial toons there as well I guess.
There were no restrictions in beta. I don’t think there will be, since the legacy system is cross-faction. I plan on rolling my Imperial alts on the same server. (I’m probably going to roll all my alts as soon as I have access, to have a decent shot of getting the names I want.)
Their slow ramp-up of head start players is supposed to reduce queues. We’ll see.
I still don’t understand what the legacy system is.
I also still haven’t decided what class to start with. I guess I’ll roll a Consular for the BRW, but I also really want to play an Inquisitor and a Bounty Hunter. Not sure I want to level all three at once but it may come to that.
There’s been very little info about the legacy system. As I understand it, as you level characters, you gain legacy points/levels. This is account wide. You can get rewards with the legacy points/levels.
I’ll probably be leveling multiple characters at the same time. I’m certainly not in a hurry to reach max level.

In a way, I hope we don’t get in until Thurs or so. We still have some Christmas shopping and wrapping to do. It won’t get done if we get in the game on Tuesday.
I’m not sure; I think the website still says 12/15 last I checked for early access but the email last week said 12/13. I’m just hoping to get in by Friday, although if they don’t start until the 15th I probably won’t get in until later in the weekend.
Dammit I wish they would send out a schedule. I got a couple days of vacation I have to take before the year end, and cocooning with some SWTOR sounds pretty vacationy to me, but I don’t know when I’ll be able to play.
I’m no expert on MMO backend technology, but it wouldn’t surprise me to hear that there is no ‘schedule’. They may have a rough idea of when they want to let people in, but I’m guessing that they’ll throttle things based on how well the servers handle the rush.
Let’s hope for some really robust, overbuilt servers!
Just got the guild assignment email. It says to check the guild page for our assignment, which Pleonast has already helpfully provided us with.
It’s good to see that if we DO like this server and stay on it, that it’s a ‘free’ guild creation; otherwise it’s 5,000 credits. :eek: Which…isn’t much really 
So that’s nice, too. Don’t have to level toons to 20 to be able to afford a guild.
I’m thinking we should start an Imperial guild on the same server and designate each other enemies 
I just got my early access email! I rolled a Jedi knight on your guy’s server named Amaranth (some of you may remember me from BDL) and will be looking for a guild invite at some point!

I have my email stating I can play I ordered on 21st July so this was as expected. This afternoon is going to be very slow at work.

I validated my pre-order a few hours after pre-orders became available 
I didn’t validate until the beginning of November, so I’m just hoping to get in by Friday…

Lats names are permitted via the Legacy system which allows for you, at a certain point, to claim a last name as your own on your server. This last name is shared across all of your toons which, to me, doesn’t make much sense for my Chiss IA and Human Jedi Shadow tank.
jealous of those who are starting today! But maybe it’s for the best. I’ve committed to raiding this week (and every week) and play SW other times. I plan on going pretty slow.
I’m not 100% sure I ‘validated’ I pre-ordered and got the code from Amazon and used it (I was in one of the Beta weekends) Does this mean I’m validated? If so that was around early Sept.
Using Bird as a last name may actually be acceptable as both factions. Or something similar: Talon or Beaks, etc
I’m in! Thank the maker for a late schedule today. The first character I created was “Chee’yleh” a Twi’lek Jedi Knight. I’m making all my alts now, just to reserve their names. Then off to work. Hope to see you all in game.
There’s like 50 North American servers up right now, so I’m thinking queues won’t be a problem.

I preordered the game in July, but I didn’t do the email validation until December 8. (I didn’t read the email closely enough. I thought it was just a receipt and product key code.)
Looks like I won’t get in until the regular release date.
