Symbol font now available.

Quoth Shayna: “It’s probably not a browser issue, but rather, a matter of you not having the Symbol font installed on your computer.”

Good thinking, but it’s there. I use it all the time. I’m going to do some more investigating, but if anyone here has any thoughts, please let me know. Also, if anyone here uses Netscape 6, let me know if it works for you.

One of the characters you used does not have an assigned counterpart in the symbol font character set, and it seemed to be causing some slight weirdness in my browser. I deleted it, which solved the problem.

Thank you for this Tuba, the Koalas are most grateful
[sym]O{[sup]o[/sup]·[sup]o[/sup]}O[/sym] [sym]O{[sup]o[/sup]·[sup]o[/sup]}O[/sym]

bibliophage, thanks for the explanation.

and

Mangetout, you’ve my vote so far for most creative use of the new symbols. [sub]and for most spare time on one’s hands ;)[/sub]

Spare time? what’s that then?

(it’s been so busy around here that the Koalas are all tuckered out now)

[sym]O{[sup]È[/sup]·[sup]È[/sup]}O[/sym] [sym]O{[sup]È[/sup]·[sup]È[/sup]}O[/sym]

Crap. I could barely understand those as it was. Now I’m gonna feel like Grampa Simpson all the time. I’m all for fighting ignorance, you understand. I’m just depressed that so much of it is mine.

::kisses Tuba’s feet::

If Q is the set of rationals and Z the set of integers, then

q[sym]Î[/sym]Q [sym]Û[/sym] q=m/n, with m,n[sym]Î[/sym]Z and n[sym]¹[/sym]0.

The cardinality of the rationals is [sym]À[/sym][sub]o[/sub].
Hot shit!

So sez you. Frankly, I’ve never found the college of cardinals to be all that rational.

You know, if you can add whole fonts, maybe you could add one with smiley faces, which I’m sure I’ve seen in the freeware/cheapware bargain bins at the font shops.

That would forstall the need for the smiley threads that keep popping up.

UncleBeer, don’t confuse the cardinality of the rationals with the rationality of the cardinals. If we do that, then we might as well conclude that the cardinals’ integrity, oddity, and primacy are each equal to their rationality, but less than their reality.

Yay! Thanks ever so much.

Of course, stuff is going to be unreadable if people forget to use the [****/sym] tag near the beginning of a long post or something.

[sym]ó[/sym]³[sym]Ö[/sym]3[sym]
ô[/sym]z²dz×cos(3[sym]p[/sym]/9) = ln³[sym]Ö[/sym]e

[li]I think it would rely on any such font being installed on the local user’s machine, that may be why Tuba chose Symbol, because it comes as default with Windoze (though Wingdings would work, if this is correct)[/li][li]I still think we need some new smilies; font ones would be monochrome only[/li][li]The koalas are angry with you now [sym]O{[sup]>[/sup]·[sup]<[/sup]}O[/sym] [sym]O{[sup]>[/sup]·[sup]<[/sup]}O[/sym] [sub](You have no chance to survive, make your time)[/sub][/li][/list=1]

You think you are strong, because you have used your technology to create a new weapon against me?

Bah. You are not so strong. I have stolen your technology, and warped it to my own evil purpose!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thirty-five replies, almost all of them by people having silly fun with the new tag.

TubaDiva, doesn’t it feel good to be able to create so much happiness with so little effort?

Oh, lord, you’ve killed the koalas by abusing them so!

I think it’s only a matter of time before someone uses Symbol characters to construct a Bin Laden mounting a koala from behind, the way this is headed…

It’s all Greek to me.

[Sym]esti moi ellhnikon![/Sym] I’m just going to assume that this works, even if I can’t see it.
