Taaa daa! Here's yer spankin' new MMP!

**BBBobbio **- I’m OK with the house at 77, as it is now, but **FCD **would drop it to 70 if he had his way. So we keep it at 75-76 and turn on lots of fans. I seems to be a good compromise most of the time. Altho he’d still like it super-cold for sleeping…

We just want to be comfortable, but a combination of insufficient capacity and insufficient insulation mixed with excessive heat means if we set the AC for 72, it will be 72 at noon, but by dinnertime, the temp will have crept up to 76, and hopefully by 10 PM, it will get back down to 74. Running continuously for 10-12 hours can’t be good for the machinery or the electric bill.

Mooooom, this is yet another case of gender role reversal in VunderLand. I like 77, and arrived at that temperature after observing the heat pump cannot chill the house below 76 on a hot day. Hell, to reliably hit 72 inside, the ambient temperature has to be roughly 65 outside. Yet she sets the thermostat at 72 whenever she walks past.

Gets damned cold in the house at night whenever she does this. Plus there is the sound of the electric meter sucking the money out of my wallet.

For other examples of gender role reversal, I am the NFL and NASCAR widow, she owns all the TV remotes, and I do the cooking and cleaning.

County water guy just stopped by - our last water test was good. Yay! They need 2 consecutive clean samples in order to issue a certificate of potability so he took another sample. I expect we’ll have our cert soon. Huzzah and all that!!

Two loads of laundry on the lines, third in the washer. **FCD ***might *get home tonight, depending on how quickly he finishes up in Rochester. We’ll see how that plays out.

Not even 9 and already over 80° here - definitely gonna be a warm day. ugh. On the other hand, I brought a hunk of catnip in - Taz and Ziva are getting mellow…

Still no laptop. Motherboard will allegedly arrive at 11ish Dell tech at around 2ish. Fun.

Haha mom has stoned kitties!

Nava I wish it were that easy. Unfortunately, it’s the act of sitting, not the seat that causes issues. The more horizontal or vertical I am, the better it is. I figure that if I keep swimming for 2 weeks and it doesn’t get better, I can go to an orthopedist and honestly say I did do the swimming the ER doc told me to do.

Spaz I love my Logitech wireless keyboard. It wasn’t a combo though because we use Logitech thumballs. It’s white with black keys and it seems smaller than usual even though the keyboard itself is standard sized. We got it at Radio Shack. It’s model K360.

Moooooom One of the vet techs grows catnip. I keep wanting to ask her to bring some in for the stowaway kitty but that could lead to psycho cat which could lead to unhappy vet so I’ve been restraining myself. However, I will get some for my sister when she comes to visit next month. One of her cats goes absolutely apeshit when on catnip and it’s hysterical.
So far it’s not too hot or muggy in the house. It’ll be horrible around 2pm though and unlivable about the time I get home from work. The dogs will be locked up in the spare bedroom with the AC until I get home. We only AC the bedrooms because the rest of the house is too open and the ceilings too high for us to be able to afford ACing it. We have a window unit in our room and a portable in the spare bedroom. The portable only gets used when the dogs need to be locked up (because we don’t trust Iggy to not eat our bed). We just deal with it in the rest of the house.
Oh! Did I mention that the scale at the gym (regular doctor type scale, not electric) said that I weigh 12 pounds less than I did when I went to the ER!! I’m actually closer to 200 than 230 now!

Sweetie is off to Nantucket until tomorrow. There’s some roundtable thing going and they hired his truck. He has no clue what the roundtable is about but apparently Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, and Jim Carrey will be there. He couldn’t sleep last night because he was wicked paranoid about missing the ferry this morning. He hasn’t called in a bad mood so I’m assuming he’s not stuck in traffic. I think he’s most looking forward to the 2 hour ferry ride.

Gotta work today. I’ll make sure I only sit when I actually need to use the computer. I didn’t clean the bathroom on Tuesday so I’ll do it today. It’s poop patrol day too. I had a dream last night in which I was trying to save a house full of abused horded kitties. My psychotic dogs woke me up before I was able to get them all though. Oh well, when I get to work I’ll snuggle with our stowaway kitty and it’ll make me feel better.

I just did a search on Nantucket roundtable and actually found what I was looking for. Apparently it’s part of the Nantucket Film Fest and it’s called the All-Star Comedy Roundtable.

Well, at least it should be more entertaining than college sports, which is what he usually does.

“Good morning Mr Tugig, this is Verizon wireless. We’re trying to collect payment on a phone previously used by your soon to be ex-wife with whom you are on the account. The total outstanding balance due is $1300.00. How will you be paying that sir?”

FML

“In pennies…”

Aw, geez, **tugig **- that doth well and truly suck!!

My spousal unit is on his way home. According to his GPS, he’ll be here before 6. Of course, it depends on traffic. But he’ll be home tonight barring anything blocking his route, so yay!

Guess I’d better do some quick cleaning… Yeah, I’m not Suzy Homemaker, and when he’s away, the house gets sorta… messy. Off to de-messify…

Got the same nasty surprise from the power company because of my ex, since when did tel cos and utility cos let people run up such outsized bills? If I am late on my phone in 5 days I get the text message “Capt according to our records you communicator bill is in arrears. Please pay by teleporting credits to *2. If you have already made a payment please disregard this message. Than you for being a valued customer of Intergalactic Telecom LLC. Out.” $1300 ouch sorry.

Hello everyone, sorry haven’t had much to say I have been very annoyed and felt no need to rain on the Mumper parade.

Cheers

JIM

Well, that was interesting… I got 3 emails in rapid succession regarding a federal job I’d applied for. All 3 were for the same vacancy. One said I fell below the threshhold for qualifications, too bad, so sad. The next one said I was qualified and my application was being forwarded to the next step in the process. The third one said I was unqualified. All three were sent within seconds of each other. Very amusing.

Vacuuming is done, kitchen is swept, dishes are all loaded. I need to tidy the kitchen counters and hang some fresh towels. In another hour or so, I’ll go out and bring the laundry in - that promises to be a sweaty chore. There isn’t a breath of air out there - that only makes the heat and humidity that much more oppressive. Yuck. Happy freekin’ first day of summer. :stuck_out_tongue:

**JIM **- go ahead and rain all you want - goodness knows, none of us show any restraint in that area…

Well I’ve just set up a payment plan that will keep it out of collections, so it can be dealt with. Just another reason to stay very, very single in the future. Going to head over to the beach in an hour or two with the kids and take it out on the waves.

MOOOOOM Just the joys of being self employed, no one feels any hurry to pay you. Retards from last week, told me they would pay Thu-Fri of last week, still haven’t and I have some bills to pay, like my communicator.

Next gig with the Tards, I am making them all wear red shirts

That is all

JIM

Tis Firday for me. I’m off tomorrow and Monday. HA!

In other just as exciting news, the heat wave is over. It’s cloudy and in the low 80s. Now if it would only rain.

JIM, your TOS reference made me laugh aloud! And you should know by now that if you’re self-employed, that means you’re a gazillionaire who just works for the fun of it, so late payments are not a biggie…

Just finished bringing all the laundry in - I just wanted to stand there and sniff it! But it’s hot out, so I got it all folded or on hangers and brought in within 40 minutes. It’s all put away, and I’m having an icy beverage to counter the sweat. Have I mentioned how much I hate summer??

Guess I should think about what I’m going to make for supper. I’ve harvested 2 more 'maters, but they’re too small to feed 3 people. Maybe I’ll do egg salad sammiches and assorted raw veggies.

OBL had a granola bar for breakfast while I was upstairs getting ready for irk.

Okay, I get he doesn’t have thumbs, but maybe use your snout to push the remaining 20 or so pieces of wrapper under the coffee table & out of sight. The correct course of action is **not **to stand over said wrapper pieces with an “I’m a bad, bad doggy” look…especially after I just vacuumed less than ½ hr earlier!

Last night, DH said he wanted chef’s salads for dinner tonight. Mo problem - at lunchtime, I pop down to the grocery store and load up on all the needed items, then once back home, boil some eggs. Not two minutes after the eggs hit the boiling water, he calls and expresses a desire for chicken soup.

The only ingredients I have on hand for soup are tap water and salt. So, back to the store…

Man, I wouldn’t do that…not to Mrs. Plant V3.0 or any…version…

When I left work, one of our drug reps was falling in love with the stowaway kitty. I have a mixture of very sad and very happy feelings about the possibility that she’ll be gone when I get there in the morning. Sad because I love her and want to take her home with me (3 psycho dogs and an allergic Sweetie being the only things stopping me) and happy because I know she’ll be in a good place. When I walked out of the office, he was snuggling her and the doc was telling him that there was a carrier right above his head if he wanted to take her home. His response was, “I can’t reach that far.” (it was about 6" so it was the same kind of silly-lame excuse Sweetie gives when he really wants to do something but is fighting the urge).
