Take a look: a cool site MMP

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate it. Still leaking a little bit, and a little crampy, but doesn’t seem to have progressed so far into Really Bad. I’m going to call my midwife tomorrow, if everything’s still the same, and see about going in on Monday, and getting an ultrasound in the next few days.
Muppet, you have a smoker. I need you to smoke meat for me. I need it. Pulled pork is a dietary requirement.
[bTaters**, I don’t envy you your fun kitchen cleaning.

The zoo is walked, beerverages are poured, 23 hours till next Cool Bar. I’m working on my playoff beard. Nelly is 30 seconds from going medieval on Gordie.

Muppet, sounds tasty. This is my tailgating grill. It rocks.

swampy., it is all dairy product.

Hi all!

{{{Lili}}} - I hope everything chills out and stays sticky!

We had a crawfish boil at the sports bar today, so had a great appetizer! I just finished eating “real” dinner - King Ranch Chicken and sallit. I’m really stuffed.

The dogs are restless, and both nearby dog parks are still under water. They are located in a “runoff” area. So I took them for a walk arounf the neighborhood - leashless- and they minded very well! A little boy on his bike-with-training-wheels (with his grandpa) fell in love with Lucy! Usually she’s so exuberant she makes the young ones nervous. Not him! He was hugging her around the neck! So cute.

Today is the anniversary of Mr Rebo and my first date! Awww… Six years.

Later…

Still sending prayers and good, sticky thoughts your way, LiLi.

Spent nearly 4 hours in the garden, widening one of the front beds (lawn, be gone!) and planting the new section. Put in some of my divided daylilies, split out some dark coral bells, and filled in with a bit of ground cover. I’m trying to figure out what to use as ground cover in that section so that the sidewalk doesn’t become muddy when it rains (it slopes a bit). Started out with a couple of plants that I hope will spread enough to take care of things. But I might need to add more.

Went for a walk around the block, thinking that I’d get some ice cream. Line was way too long. I might go back in a bit to see if it’s any better. In the meantime, dinner is being provided by Lean Cuisine.

Think I’ll knit my camera cover in a bit. Should be able to finish it quickly.

Laterzzz.

Seeing Phantom tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Feeling unexpectedly down at the moment…

It’ll pass. I’m sure…

The Law has been laid down amongst my roomies and myself, like some sort of budget Superfriends in action. Troy’s party kept the rest of us up until the ass-crack of dawn (5 or 6 AM) and today we were all D.O.A. today, which sucks cuz its nearly finals and we need to study. We have politely but firmly informed Troy that if his friends ever commit such a grievous offense in the future, we are going to visit upon them such mindboggling violence that the Jigsaw killer from the Saw movies will look like a cross between Mother Teresa and Santa Clause in comparison.

Still, I got some significant progress made in studying for Monday’s Physics exam.

Also, I am prop-the-eyelids-open-with-toothpicks exhausted… But still feeling pretty good.

stickies for Li’l LiLi

Chicken and roasted NOT was Teh Yum. We devoured most of it, though there’s enough left for a lunch… our guests were rather amused that I wrapped up their leftovers in a tinfoil swan so that they could bring them home. (yes, I’m a bit strange… was that ever in doubt, though?)

LiLi, we haven’t tried anything quite as ambitious as smoked pulled pork yet (we’ve been slowly working our way up from beginner level). Be assured that when we do, though, you’ll be on the guest list for dinner. Glad everything seems to be ok, BTW… continuing to send sticky thoughts for now, though.

swampus, we did put some thinly sliced onions in with the NOT. No peppers on hand, but I’ll definitely keep it in mind for the next time. Even sans peppers, they were still yummerific.

Moonie, I’m surprised you allowed your roomie to live. Depriving your roommates of sleep during finals is a hanging offense where I went to school. Good luck with the rest of the exams, BTW.

ETA: Nice facial hair, doggio. Hope the beard can grow as long and luxurious as the accompanying 'stache.

Up. Youngsters up the street were talking. Now I can’t sleep.

Wish LiLi would check in.

Anyone else up???

Ughhh… Something the doctor didn’t tell me. Much like installing Windows applications, healing up after a microdiskectomy is not a purely linear process - it has fits and starts and sometimes feels like it’s going in reverse.

Two days after surgery, I was feeling fantastic. No sciatica and no back pain other than that what that was I expected after having someone cut a slot in my back to push aside muscles, drill a hole in the vertebra and chop off the bad piece of the disk. That was fairly short-lived though.

On Tuesday, I had a fllowe-up appointment and was feeling pretty good. Not perfect, but still better than I did before surgery. Wednesday evening, my back was starting to get sore, and the sciatica was cranking up, and on Thursday, it was almost as bad as before surgery.

I now know that there will be ups and downs over the next couple of months. Everyone who came to the party is a notoriously slow healer. Spinal discs don’t really have any blood circulation, so it takes them a few months to heal from where they were cut, and nerves are also slow to regenerate. Think I saw somewhere that it takes about a month to regenerate and heal one inch of nerve, and my sciatic nerve is about three feet long. It’s shorter in shorter people, but still is a long-ass nerve.

So, back on vicodin and antihistamines for now. It’s starting to feel like the desk is tilting so I should go to bed.

Sounds tough, Gotti. Hope you feel better, soon.

{{{Ivory}}} – 3 AM Sunday morning? :frowning: Hope you can get back to sleep!

**Gotti **-- hope there are a lot more ups than downs in your healing process

**Lili **-- still thinking of you

{{{Spaz}}} – just because.

Happy Sunday, y’all!

Hey, more company for me!

Hi SO!

Waddyamean, “more?” You realize **Gotti **just signed off for (his) night, right?

And that means… we’re all alone here!

Room 304 or the hot tub? You choose!

Wait, the tub isn’t in room 304 any more? I have to choose?

true, true!

Going to try to sleep…

Talking? Talking??? YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT TALKING?

Let me explain something to you… Mass at dawn made sense pre-Vatican II, because you had to fast for 12 hours before Communion. Now it’s 1 hour, and a lot of that is taken up by the ceremony itself. The rosary at dawn, before that early Mass, again made sense as a practice way back when. You know, before 7am on a Saturday was considered “ungoldy hours”! And I’m not even getting into the fact that it was a Saturday after a holiday Friday, mk?

Now, the Rosary through a megaphone would be bad at any hour, but I have a hint for both the Bishop of this Diocese and the Provincial of the Capuchinos: Koldo can’t sing, but he knows it, so he hints at the start of the song and lets the congregation carry it on; José isn’t any kind of great singer but he doesn’t try anything he knows he can’t do; Juan doesn’t sing as well as he thinks he does but he does know the difference between D and G… if Alfredo, who was directing the Rosary at Dawn yesterday, dies from being struck by lightning, it’s St Cecily’s (1) way of saying “cut it out with that godawful racket already!”

At least today it was the Auroros singing at dawn, no screeching megaphones and the music was nice. But Alfredo? Man, that guy can screw up the tune to “Mary had a little lamb”.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I woke up at six forty-five. Felt like I’d slept really late.

Today is brunch Sunday at church. I made two buttermilk pies and a gallon of tea. My inner churchlady is proud.

gotti here’s to fast and good healin’. Just remember that when it’s all healed, you won’t have any more of that constant back pain. It’s the end result that counts.

Hope you got back to sleep Soapy.

Tummy is rumbly. Guess I should go feed it. The smell of bacon and aigs should get ol’ y’all know who up and stirrin’!

Up at 7 - that’s sleeping in 2 hours later than usual for me - yay! It rained overnight - the yard is nicely soaked. We’ll be doing stuff around the house today - **FCD **plans to work in his shop on hatch boards for the boat. I’ve got 3 or 4 more loads of laundry to finish, and I’m going to start building my first climbing cat, hoping to make a mold of the final product.

Daughter will be home from her dog-sitting duties some time today. SIL is done with school till fall, so he’ll be getting more hours at work. All in all, it’ll be a fairly relaxing day, methinks.

But first, I may take my sweetie to breakfast. Yeah, that’s a good idea.
