Tales from the MMP - Influencing The Market

Good Saturday morning all! I’m up and caffeinating; I’ve had a slice of whole wheat toast w/peanut butter with my coffee this morning. Feeling some better today, I guess that rain helped some in getting the pollens out of the air, 'cause they were making me miserable.

A co-worker was at the airport in St. Louis (trying to return home!) when the tornado struck; he was able to post some pics to facebook, so he’s okay but still in St. Louis. Moooom, it’s right chilly outside, at least now–mid-40s here and still drizzly! Glad to hear that the gecko is still okay, well at least he’s getting some crickets, right? Hope the Easter Vigil goes well this evening, Swampy; I’ve never been to one myself but both parents participated in them for years. I don’t know if I could stay awake the whole time!

Hope that everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing Saturday, and Happy Easter/Happy Passover/Happy Spring, as appropriate.

The Fairgrounds in Leonardtown, but she’ll probably demand we go to Amoville while we’re out and about.

Coffee.

New dishwasher and maybe new fridge today.

Then Costco.

Then not buying anything ever again.

Happy belated birthday, **ems. ** I’m sorry it wasn’t a good day and I’m sorry about your MiL.

Whew! We had a busy two days! I worked part of the day Thursday, came home, threw a change of clothes for me and the hubby, along with toiletries in our travel bags, hopped in the car and drove nearly five hours to the “metropolis” of Colfax, WA. We stopped exactly once to pee and that was it.

We checked into our hotel, got some dinner, came back, watched some bad TV and went to sleep. I was up again at 4:30 yesterday, showered, got the hubby and son up so they shower, packed up our stuff again, checked out of the hotel and drove the remaining distance to Pullman, WA where Washington State University is located.

We checked in at the University Visitor center, drove the remaining two or so miles to the campus, found someplace to park and walked to the Union building.

The campus is HUUUUUUUGE and it’s beautiful. We spent the day on tours, and listening about the Engineering programs, financial aid and tuition, the nuts and bolts of living on campus, and then walked across to the campus to the rec center. It’s huge and beautiful. We then walked back across campus to one of residence halls my son is interested in living in and toured it.

All in all the visit was pretty informative. We left about 3:30 with the idea that we’d make it back home around 8:30. Alas, it was not be. We were about an hour and a half from home when we got stuck in traffic. It took us three hours to go 13 miles. I might add, this was still out in the boondocks and we hadn’t even crossed the pass yet. God, it was irritating. We finally got home close to 11:00 last night.

All in all, the trip was good, but jeebus, we were tired when got home.

I sort of skimmed, but am sending hugs as needed or wanted to everyone.

I didn’t know there was a flea market in Leonardtown! Gee, **BBBobbio **- what else do you know that I haven’t learned in 7 years here?

Heard on the news that the St. Louis airport is closed indefinitely due to storm damage. Guess whose return trip changed planes in St. Louis? Guess who won’t be home till way after midnight on Sunday/Monday? Guess who has to deal with the Pugasaurus for another day?/ Woe is me!! <insert dramatic pose of woe>

I just hope the weather doesn’t trap her there any longer - luckily she doesn’t have school on Monday.

**FCD **is cleaning his aquarium - messy job. I’m going to head to my studio for a few hours of glazing and stuff. It’s still wet and dreary and chilly and ick. Days like this I’m really glad we don’t live on the boat. Of in a cardboard box…

Up and coffee ingestion is ongoing. LibbyCat began bugging me at 5.30 this AM for her weekend soft food. This is because she has mr ems trained as he is normally up by 5ish puts his coffee on then feeds her her weekend treat of soft food. Needless to say LibbyCat did not get soft food at 5.30AM this morning.

The side effects of the chemo are kicking in for mr ems mom although not so bad. She is resting a lot but has some serious pukeyness feelings going on so they have changed her medication yesterday which helped. They are hoping to get the paperwork back from the lawyers on Monday which transfers the title to mr ems and his sister to get notarised. His mom is a planner. :frowning:

I have a bust day planned today of pedicure - I think I will go with slutty pink this time instead of slutty red that I currently have. Go get some new summer hanging out type pants as my other ones I can no longer wear out the house as I have lost so much weight they literally fall off me, go see if TJ Maxx has any nice sheets, Sears for a new water filter for the fridge, Sephora for some treats for me, Macys to look at pretty shoes and purses I can’t afford.

But first I must Skype with my parents! Later

Hope no one wants any beer today, cuz I drank it all last night. All gone.

The Kid and the fiance were here for the night last night. A few of her friends came over.

Pity the recycling man.

I got a little glazing done, despite having to stop an clean up CozmoPoo. Stoopit dog. At least the floor is concrete and easy to clean. Stoopit dog.

Swampy, why does Georgia insist on stealing city names from other states? Next you’ll tell me there’s a Philadelphia and a Trenton in Georgia.

Morning, or afternoon, all.
At the Public Market in McMinnville again tody. Been here for an hour and a half and so far we’ve sold one rubber duckie. Don’t know what’s going on. We usually do pretty well here.
The tamale lady just came by. We now have lunch, plus some leftovers material.

Can you tell it’s boring here today?

Rosie’s sig to all.

Later.

I’ve been very busy! My brother is visiting for my Dad’s 87th birthday, plus we’re going out of town tomorrow. I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off!

Thursday night’s homemade fried chicken (legs, wings and tenders) was awesome, if I do say so myself. Despite two disasters! The first one was when I opened the package of wings and I smelled a distinct sour ammonia smell. I called my husband and he brought more home. The second disaster was when I inadvertently melted the plastic bag that held the flour for the chicken, and flour went all over the floor. Arrgh! But it all turned out all right.

And then we all got shit-faced and talked until three in the morning.

Friday was a bit more subdued (can you say hangover?) and we went to dinner at a fabulous seafood place. I had pecan crusted rainbow trout, with ‘colossal’ lump crabmeat and grape tomatoes and spinach in a butter sauce, over rice pilaf. To die for!

Tonight we’re going to Nick’s Italian, a little mom and pop place that we love. Then we’ll come home and have Dad’s birthday cake which is actually a peach cobbler. That’s what he asked for! Somehow the guys will set up the new flatscreen TV we got him while he’s distracted eating dessert.

Off to the grocery store!

*:zoom:: *

Yay, it’s my** Firday**!

I present to you all the Twirl-a-Skwerl Champion!

That is all.

That is the funniest video!!! I’m dizzy.

A few pictures.

I saw this little guy while mowing the yahd today. Since it’s Holy Saturday, this must be the Easter Bunny.

At the local BuyALotOfShit Club, a Fail

I saw this in the local Wally*World when LiLi was having so much trouble getting Gnat to sleep, and I forgot to post it then.

VBob - send that MassQuantitiesStore sign to failblog

Howdy Y’all! Home. Napped (we bugged out a little early cause it was booooooring!). Fed. Postin’.

Rosie there is, indeed, a Trenton, Jawja. It is the redneck capitol of northwest Jawja and there is absolutely no reason ever to go there.

I’ve also gotten part of tomorrow’s big Easter feast ready. N.O.T. sallit is made. Butterbeans are cooked. Squish casserole is already to get baked. Ham is ready to get baked. Easy cake which shall be served with strawberries and whipped cream baked. Strawberries sliced and sugared. I shall bake the ham tomorrow mornin’ when I get up. I’m fine with it settin’ out covered up durin’ church. Sqush casserole shall also get baked and refrigerated. After church it can be nuked to warm up while rolls are bakin’ and ham is sliced. This should be enough to get everybody fed and happy. Plus there’s champagne chillin’ to sip upon and I’ll put out some cheese and crackers to nibble upon.

I’m the host with the most, am I not?

I would not go to the Vigil tonight if’n I didn’t just have to go. I’d rather stay in the nice cool cave and relaxate. Alas, our attendance is commanded.

ETA: I will also nuke the butter beans to warm 'em up. Butter beans should never be served cold.

Bwahahahahaha! To cute!

I am back from The Crazy that is the mall. And it wasn’t even to busy but man The Crazy was strong there. Got some amazing deals on towels and sheets and comforters I am figuing I got over a $1000 worth of stuff for $325. And I got some new cargo pants, some pretty jewellery, couple of tops and some new unders as well. Good day really. Not quite the same as a weekend in Vegas but not a bad birthday weekend. I now plan to vacuum and dust the house and wash the new towels and stuff. I will clean the bathrooms and kitchen tomorrow methinks.

The colour of this weeks pedicure is indeed slutty pink

BUNNY!

:Dbunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunnybunny:D

Bert’s made supper. So I didn’t have to cook or do dishes. Yay!

I got all but one piece glazed - I’ll try to finish that one tomorrow.

That’s all. Veg-a-tron tonight. Chilling will be nice.

Nighty night, all!

Bunny!

Also, cute shirt!

Went to Easter Vigil - which was great, but 3 hours long. Exhausting.

Of course, that means that I’m now quite awake.

rosie’s sig to all.

Something more coherent tomorrow.

Hugs.
