I had cheesy grits with breakfast yesterday. Delish. Still needed butter, though. Cinderella agreed. The pot was a bit of a bitch to clean, though.

No tie. I’m wearing navy Cords and a checked button-down shirt. I wore a suit to the first interview, khakis, blue botton-down w/tie to the second, and no tie to the final round.
It’s a good thing there aren’t many more iterations of interviews. I’d eventually show up in a Swim Suit.

I forgot to say I went to Target today at lunch. I needed to get out and so I was entrusted with a mission of the utmost importance… go get a printout of a baby gift registry. See, our CFO’s wife is just before birthin’ up a little baby girl. Like any time now. That means they’ll have one of each cause they already have a boy. So, I went to Target, printed out said registry, bought this little three pack thing of baby body suits (pink and yellow with little butterflies. AWWWWWW… it was on the registry), bought the official office baby card and bought a gift card. Total price of the mission… $43.89. Pretty good huh! See, what we’re doing here is people are coughing up a few bucks each and the power shoppers (my pet name for three of the ladies here. fits ‘em well!) are going to make up a baby basket full of little stuff on the registry. The baby body suits are my contribution, since I was there and all, I just decided to purchase rather than chip in the bucks. The gift card is an extra gift from me cause CFO and his wife live in my neighborhood so we all kinda know each other outside of work, so I wanted to do somethin’ personal and I figured a gift card would come in handy a little ways down the road.
I also had some KFC. I wish I hadn’t cause somebody called me a bit ago to say he’s making dinner. Chicken and rice. So, he has deloused a bit now. I mentioned how I want cookies. Betcha he goes to the store and gets me some cookies. So, it’s gonna be spend the night night at his house tonight. YAY for spend the night night!
OK, here’re the pix of me at the office (lovely file cabinets, aren’t they??) in the gown. I really need to learn to stand up straighter! I think it’ll look better with low heels than barefoot.
Do you think I should look into getting a pair of disposable contacts just for the day and for pix? I always wear glasses, but I’d kinda like my wedding pix not to have glasses in them. I don’t want to look different from “me” but I just don’t like the dressed up look with glasses. What say you MMPers? (I’m also thinking I should have a pair of contacts around then anyway so when we go snorkeling on the honeymoon cruise, I can actually see! So I may have some contacts anyway. But is it wrong not to be me and accept that I wear glasses and that’s just the way it is?)
Beautiful dress, taxi. I say do whatever makes you feel happy regarding whether to wear glasses or not. If you don’t want to wear your glasses, get some contacts.
Frankly, sometimes I wish I had contacts. I get really tired of seeing my face behind specs.
the dress looks great. I wouldn’t worry about the glasses - but if you’re going to get contacts anyway, then yeah, I’d do that soonish so you can get used to them. (Wearing the for the first time on the honeymoon may prove to be distracting) Can you go snorkling with contacts?
How will you wear your hair? In an ultra modern up-do? or something classic? I’d like to suggest, with that dress, you go for a turn of the (20th) century Gibson Bun like this
