Heeerrrrrreeeee’s [del]Johnny[/del] dogbutler!! Thrak just erased my post.

Good night, slothbear!

That’s some color scheme, FCM.

Bumba, dinner sounds good.

Did you look in Room 304?:smiley:

Spaz, tomorrow is the Red/White scrimmage, I got my season ticket package today. Oh, and Go Wolfpack!!!

gt, Thrak approves of your desktop.

{{{{{Pie}}}}}

Thrak has good taste, doggio.

I’ve been doing a Bones marathon. Hulu is dangerous. But a great escape.

Nice relaxing Saturday.

Hope everyone else is having an equally relaxing evening.

GT

Oh, shuddup! :mad:

:stuck_out_tongue: :slight_smile:

:Sigh: I had a seriously over-busy Saturday. Started at 3 AM – got up to take wife to the airport (she has since arrived safely in Prague for her conference).
Got home at 4:30, managed to crash until 10.
Started working remotely on a new rush assignment I inherited last week (from an external guy who’s contract was up – dunno if it was him, his agency or us who pulled the plug; don’t really care.) This filled in my time when not doing other things until 1:30 AM today :eek:
In the mean while, I was playing single parent to 3 children (and 2 dogs and a cat.) Which can really add up… (hence why I ended up working until late.)

Oh, forgot to mention – had to take little girl to a Bat Mitzvah, and stay there for 3 hours, in the afternoon. With a bunch of people I don’t know (And she didn’t know any of the kids except the birthday girl.) That was fun. Not :rolleyes:

At least I managed to hit the gym twice over the weekend, so I feel somewhat righteous about that :slight_smile:

I think I’ve ironed out all the wrinkles on that assignment, and pretty much finished my regular (and also always rushed) assignment – got it prepped for installation tonight or tomorrow night (not by me, thankfully!)
So hopefully today and the next few may be back to normally hectic rather than break-neck-frenzy hectic… :dubious::smack:

Enough rambling.

Blurf. Need coffee. And I just finished my first coffee! :eek:

================================================

Barely skimimed, retained even less than I read. Mostly what I remember is {{{Pie}}} :frowning: :eek:
Unfortunately, it’s a part of life… I’ve seen some bad accidents before (and barely avoided becoming a statistic myself, a time or a few) – it never gets easier to take. It only seems like you react less after the first time. It comes out eventually.

What else? **FCM **-- you make me feel like I was a lazy bum yesterday!

**Taters **-- I had an aquarium as a child; managed to keep it clean and alive for the better part of 3 years, I think (pretty much on my own). Of course it was more like a 15 gallon tank (I think? I’m trying to remember… about half a meter long, 30 cm deep, maybe 40 cm high… so 60 liters. Yeah, that’s about right,) so definitely much smaller than yours. I could still watch those fish for hours, though…

**Lili **-- hope Nat’s sleep schedule sorts itself out soon.

I have relocated to the couch so as not to keep waking TVMan up with my coughing. But now, even though I’m still tired, I can’t seem to sleep anymore.

want to play cards? Cause, apparently, I’m up. :frowning:

Wow, I actually slept in till almost 7 - I never do that! :eek: I did wake up around 5, but I managed to turn over, adjust the pillow and my covers, and doze back off into a bizarro dream where I was being arrested from coming thru a gate that someone else forgot to lock. There was a lot of yelling and gun-waving and no one would listen when I tried to tell them that the gate was unlocked, so technically I didn’t break in. Then I woke up.

So the critters have been tended to and **FCD **just got up. The newlyweds are still crashed, but they were up well after we were - I almost came out and told them to turn the TV down, but I fell asleep…

I need to find something breakfast-like, then don some work clothes and start being constructive. Yeah, that’ll happen… Well, it will, eventually.

Incidentally, I’ve read everyone else’s goings-on, but my brain was too fried to react much. So take a hug or a smooch or a grope from the pile and remember I love you more than the other one. No, really, you’re the best. :smiley:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ and all dressed even. We’re goin’ to brekkies in a bit then head on over to the church. I am curious to see who shows up for confirmation class. Well, I know of at least one cause I’m draggin’ him in. :smiley: Plus I’m takin’ ye olde laptop with me. For the next two weeks the Diocese has a survey online concerning the search for our new Bishop. It’s one of the ways the search committee is getting input from people. There were some “town meetings” in the different Convocations in August. I like the fact that the committee is seeking input. Anywho… in an effort to get as many members of the congregation as possible to participate, several of us are bringing in laptops the next two Sundays so that anybody who wants can complete the survey which is supposed to take about fifteen minutes and does not have a puter at home can do the survey. We’re all nice like that. There will also be pen and pencil surveys available if somebody just absolutely insists on doin’ it that way. Plus, pictures are being taken for the new church directory. I usually do my best to avoid the picture thing, however, it’ll be kind of hard to escape bein’ as I’ll be right there. Le Sigh.

To sum up… I’m goin’ to church for a loooooong time today! :smiley:

Later Y’all!

I’m back. Somebody called the house at 7 this morning and woke me up. Now I’m just sitting here contemplating what to do with myself. Perhaps a nap.:smiley:

Feeling better today, knock wood.

Did have an awful nightmare around 5 am that woke me up. It involved Phil Collins some how and my being killed.

Creepy and oddly strange!

Lunch- you are one busy guy!!!

I on the other hand, am on my OWN until about 1:30!!! Little girl has religious school followed by choir practice and TimeKiller and my son are off to Costcovia to do the big shopping without me. I’m sure one or two unexpected purchases will make it back…

I’m throwing some laundry in, turning on the dishwasher and crawling back to bed for a little while. Showering and getting some work done for next week’s classes should fill the time nicely.

It is morning. I am awake. I was productive. I wonder how long I can talk in three word sentences–not very long apparently.

I got up, tossed my hair in a ponytail and read some of the off-board mafia game since Hawkeyeop is playing in it. It’s nice to know what he’s talking about.

Unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher; it is currently running. I don’t know how the dishes pile up so much from one day to the next. :rolleyes:

I’m going to make death chicken today; I think I’ll try it in the crock pot/slow cooker. Why does that appliance need two names? I don’t get that. I think I’m also going to make banana muffins today. I made some last weekend, and they were a big hit. The grocery store had some bruised (aka perfect for baking) bananas on their discounted rack, so we picked some up for the muffins.

Obligatory recipe:

Banana Crumb Muffins

INGREDIENTS

* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 3 bananas, mashed
* 3/4 cup white sugar
* 1 egg, lightly beaten
* 1/3 cup butter, melted
* 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
* 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 tablespoon butter

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.

Off to start laundry.

Morning Mumpers! I’m working the Booster Club tableCaniac Carnival today.

Soapy, Phil Collins executed you? Wow.

remember I love you more than the other one. No, really, you’re the best. Thanks, MMMMmmmmoooommmm!

gt, I was watching [The Sarah Connor Chronicles* on Hulu until 0200.

Lunch, sounds like my usual work day. My condolences, and a Yuengling.

Yeah, weird. haven’t listened to Phil Collins since college. He wrote my (then) boyfriend and my “song”.

mousie- Crock Pot is a brand name for a particular brand of slow cooker. Probably not for long, though!

Muffins sound nummy. I think I have some just overripe bananas hanging out in the fridge…

doggio, you must work on your coding-fu :smiley:

Coding ninjas wrecked my post.

Good to know. Ignorance fought. Thanks!

One of these days I’ll make Death Chicken - like when I buy chickie parts and bacon. And cream of whatnot soup. I need to grocery shop.

Fambly is taking a breakfast break. We tidied up the basement, took a bunch of tools upstairs, and set the cabinets in place. I was off in my calculations - I thought I had one base cabinet that I don’t have, so **FCD **will be building a pantry using parts from a couple of wall cabinets. Once they’re done, it’s back to work.

I’ve got ground beef thawing for meatballs for supper. We have gravy leftover from our British dinner, and that inspired the meatballs, and smashed N.O.I., and some sort of vegetable substance. 'Twill be num.

I want a nap. Maybe later. Maybe not. We shall see.

Awww, poor SO. Hope things slow down soon.

I’ve been up for a while and decided that I’m going to church tonight because I need to feel like I’ve accomplished something at home today (since I was such a slug yesterday - although it was really what I needed).

Do not tell me what you’ve been watching on hulu, doggio. :dubious:

Need to get stuff painted and then I’ll be doing laundry. So, of course, I’m hoping that my today is something like your yesterday, FCM. Also, I need to edit a document for work. Big fun.

Turning off the computer now and getting to work.

Not Our… Insects? Not Our Infants? Not Our Ivy? Not Our Iguanas? :smiley:
Glory hallelujah, Nat slept from 9 till 3, woke to eat, and went back to sleep. I feel like I got eight hours sleep, which I did. Yay! On the bad side, although we don’t feel any teeth, we think he’s finally teething, so it’s off to buy him some painkillers today.
I also want pics of this apartment. It sounds dizzying.

Good morning. I’m up, barely, and drinking coffee.

We’re supposed to go work out today and we probably have more errands to run. My son wants to be driven over to a friend’s house to work on a school project, my daughter’s boyfriend is coming over to give her driving lessons, and I’ve got a ton of laundry to complete.

FCM, I get tired just reading the posts about all the work you’re doing on the apartment. I want to see pictures as well.

Your daughter’s bf is giving her driving lessons, Taters? I grew up in Illinois and IIRC, the person giving the lessons had to be over 25. The theory was that the teacher needed to be an experienced driver.

So, laundry loads 5 &6 are in the dryer; loads 7&8 are in the washer; loads 9&10 are ready to go when it’s their turn (why yes I am doing my blankets, mattress pad, sheets etc.); muffins have been made though the second part of the double batch got a little more done than I prefer; death chicken is in the crock pot (I even checked the brand to be sure!)–I’ll let you know how it goes; 2nd load of dishes is drying in the dishwasher with the third load waiting to go in; apartment needs some picking up, but I’m out of energy for now.
