As you can see on Hama’s page, I have a butterfly (with my ex’s initials in it - shrugs Oh well). It’s not able to be shown in polite company, so few people have actually seen it.
I’d like to get another one, but someone [sub]coughCrunchycough[/sub] was supposed to be working on it and keeps forgetting. When I do get it, I want a stylized pisces symbol, either the fish themselves or the symbolized version or a combination of the both. I’m not picky. I haven’t figured out where to put it if I get it done, though.
I can’t do the actual drawing, but how about the fishies done stylized in the yin-yang motif? That is to say, one dark facing left with a white eye, one light(an outline?) facing right with a dark eye?
Well, there’s this, though I would simplify it (more barracuda like?) and color in one of them.
Oh, for the record: no tats, no desire. I just like egging others on.
Only 1 tattoo, but I’m starting to feel the urge to get another.
Mine is a daisy-like flower with leaves and vines on each side on the top of my foot. Like others have mentioned about the ankle, the foot is a very painful place to get a tattoo.
Oh, the petals on the daisy are purple and the center is blue. None of that white and yellow stuff for me!
Two. A set of US Army Air Assault wings (101st…huaaa!), and a black Japanese kanji character on a red sun, from a favorite book of mine, A Book Of Five Rings, written by Shinmen Mushashi.
Right bicep, two Chinese characters. One for knowledge, and the other for teaching. Had them done at the very first DopeFest I attended. I’m going to add the Superman symbol on my left bicep, but I just haven’t done it yet. maybe at the next DopeFest.
I’ve got a Ouruborus, in green, in the circle shape (rather than the infinity shape) on my right deltoid. The eyes are read, the scales are green. To make the green stand out more, he filled it in with wihte - and the white hurt. I got that one about two years ago.
I’ve also got a 4" high Arrow of Chaos on my left shoulderblade. I got that one, under truly chaotic circumstances, about 5 years ago.
Ooh ooh I have two! (I never pass up a chance to brag about my ink) A palm-sized Celtic knot double pentagram with an Ouroboros outer ring on my left calf, and a native American armband with a red-tailed hawk on my left bicep. Both custom designed (the first by my friend, the second by me – some may recognize the hawk from the cover of the latest Sibley’s Guide to Birds). Love 'em to death.
Just a moment of spousal pride, but if you are talking about the Tattoo FAQ that started on rec.arts.bodyart, then my wife wrote that (some of her tattoos are on Hamadryad’s page under baglady). I think Doob already knew that, but I feel compelled to point it out for everybody else in the world.
Me too. I’ve been working for a long time on my own design of an 11-circuit, 5-spoked labyrinth, but I don’t know where I want it. I want to be able to see it without a mirror, so that narrows things down considerably.
Also, a tattoo that glows only under a black light would be cool too **

I’m not sure how this would look under black light, but I once saw a young woman in Atlanta who had white tattoos. They were very stylized and artistic - just beautiful swirling lines curving up in a sort of “V” shape around her belly button and around one arm. She said that they were even more visible with a good tan.
Yes, Obfus’ wife did indeed write that. I would have linked it, but was in a rush to write a post. It’s easily found anyway, just type “Tattoo FAQ” and you should find it (the file is presented as a text file i think). It’s very good and comprehensive. I suggest you newbies to tattooing should go and give it a look (well, even those of you with several).
I have four. #1, the oldest (about 20 years now) is a small blue rose on my left hip. I also have a sunrise on the right breast, a purple butterfly on the back of my neck ust under my hair, and a big ol’ crescent moon on my right calf/ankle. [sub]Holy cow, that one hurt.[/sub]
I’d like another one, but I’m going to wait until I can get a unifying design - if I just add one more small one somewhere, I’m afraid I’ll have a goofy “sprinkled” effect.
