Wow, I just heard some people on the radio musing yesterday about whether he might show up for the health care vote. I guess he was a lot worse than we/they knew. He was a powerful force and I’m sorry he’s gone.
just saw this in msnbc website !
R I P.
Is it too soon for jokes?
Well, what a pity. R.I.P. A truly remarkable life.
The man devoted his entire life to public service. No jokes for now.
RIP Mr. Kennedy.
Not exactly unexpected, but sad nonetheless.
Ted was still working hard to get a health bill passed up until the end, and I truly hope his legacy is to unite enough people to get something worked out soon.
Yes there were personal scandals aplenty, but Teddy never wavered in his commitment to his political beliefs. The Senate has lost a strong voice and a good man. This is one case where the phrase “he will be missed” is very, very true.
I’m only sad to see him gone because he wanted the same things I do regarding government. Personally, I think he was an awful person.
it is always sad when one passes before getting to the goal they tried for so long to reach.
this year has been a bad year for endings public and private.
To be honest, I can’t think of one good thing to say about him.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
He killed a woman and got away with it because of his name and influence. He should have died in prison and in disgrace.
I am glad to see that, even in death, he can still make the tighty-righties crazy. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say after the next two weeks of eulogizing. By the time Ted is in the ground, he will have been canonized even by his political adversaries, and your heads will have asploded several times over. Thanks Ted, for making the puppets dance one last time.
I posted my farewell to him in GD.
So here I will just say to the OP title…
No, no, no, no- he’s outside… looking in.
A true Lion.
I pity those who can find only scorn for a life dedicated to serving us.
Maybe so, but I have yet to see any tighty-righties hoping that he suffered.
Has anyone here seen my old friend Teddy?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
I thought I saw him walking over the hill
With Joe Jr, Bobby & John.
Well, no, not in MPSIMS. The thread you referenced was in the Pit, and I fully expect there to be a Pit thread about Mr. Kennedy where people who didn’t like him can make such remarks, and which I will avoid reading.
R.I.P. Edward Kennedy. We’ll miss you.
I’m not a tighty righty. You and I are probably pretty close on the political spectrum, but I still think Ted Kennedy was an awful person. He definitely doesn’t make me crazy, any more than other dead awful people do.
Well, at least he avoided the death panels.
