the usual weekend things. shopping trip, very muggy, ick. no wild life. too humid for them, i reckon. i found an old british cozy mystery series to watch, around 2003; rosemary & thyme. the deaths happen while the duo are rescaping gardens. so far so good.
sad about norway, they did have good run at the world cup. it was nice that the norwegian royals came to the games.
today is monday the 13th. i’m staying calm yet wary.
koritza is fully back to herself. so far, the lid on the tank is working, she has tried to figure out a way around it. Spec Aquarium Kit, 5 US Gal / 19 L - Fluval USA
there is an open area under the light that she tried to put her paw in. that get covered when i’m not “on guard”.
mollie, the new hair is fantastic! looks great. i’m not the best at make up. it is my understanding that once you figure out if you are warm (look good in peach) or cool (look good in pink), then you have a good idea of what colours work well for you. How to Identify Your Skin Undertones, According to MUAs once you figure that out, keep your best colours near your face. if your absolute favourite colour is, say, orange, and you are a cool, you can still wear it, just not near your face. it is a minefield!
Walked to work; it was a comfortable 72 with the slightest of breezes. There was a bit of a kerflooey with the software; didn’t process the credit cards starting Friday so I was unable to complete my work, was only there an hour but by then it was starting to get hot, not quite uncomfortable yet, but I would likely have been sweaty by the time I got home. As I was walking across the parking lot, one of the guys pulled up and asked if I wanted a ride home. Yes, please.
Thoroughly watered the garden. Hubs is furious with the critters; they’ve been pulling off the low hanging 'maters, taking a bite or two or three and leaving them on the ground. although he found one tomato wedged at the top of the fence with several bites taken out.
I really need to get away. Would like to go to the beach at the nearest state park. Daughter says the week is going to be a little tough and while she would really like to, she doesn’t think she’ll have time. Ask my BF and she’s prepping for a colonoscopy today which she’s having tomorrow so she’s out. Heck.
BrightTree fingers crossed that pond repair guy shows up and does a good job fixing the pond.
Anyway, taking a break. I finished assembling the trellis, but I needed to move the native clematis before the trellis could go in place. And I need FCD’s help because of the size of the trellis, so when he gets home from the boat, we’ll tend to that. Meanwhile, I’ve been moving liriope and the few remaining iris and lilies so that I can smooth out the dirt for seeding. But that has to wait till I have lunch. And so I shall.
My favorite knock-knock joke is when you tell someone “say ‘knock-knock’”. They say ‘knock-knock’ and you say ‘who’s there’. The confused look is priceless.
Exercise was a real slog today. Too damn humid, even in an air-conditioned space. I need to hit the grocery today, but it’ll have to wait a bit.
Still no appetite for Sadie, but she wants to play, so I’m betting on the heat being a problem with her appetite. I caught her trying to nibble on the chives in my indoor herb garden. A quick check online shows that any allium plant is very toxic for cats, so off with their heads.
No knock-knock jokes come to mind right now but I remember most of those posted. Thanks for the grins. Have made it through Seneca caverns, it is a ‘primitive’ cave with all stone steps, some rather perilous, and lots of ducking and twisting. And I loved it, made it through without too much trouble but no pictures as I was too busy not falling. Getting ready to go back to Cedar Point for my last visit, I am glad I came but think I can do without mega-a amusement parks after this. But then again…
Best to everyone and will continue to read the jokes, groaners or not.
A priest, a pastor, and a rabbit walk into a blood donation clinic.
The nurse asks the rabbit, “What’s your blood type?”
The rabbit replies, “I think I’m a Type O”.
Monday fun - I might (probably) have to move to a different desk, after 10 years in the corner. Bummer.
Lessee - I did about 2 hours of labor this morning and another 90 minutes after lunch. As soon as FCD gets back, we’ll install the trellis and I’ll train the clematis over it. Then that’s it for today. I’ll post a few pics in FB and include a link for non-friends.
I want a shower, but not till I’m all done. So grubby I shall remain.
Why did the pony lose the singing contest? He was a little hoarse
Not too bad here today for a Monday, except for coming home to discover what appears to be sewage running down the street. Luckily on the opposite side of the road, and due to the slope it won’t be coming into the garden, but still. Ick. The drain clearing people are here with a big truck, and they’ve got it stopped for now and are hosing down the road- hopefully it’ll be fixed properly.
