Tell me some GOOD news.

My motorbike started first time this morning.

I completely screwed up a recording session last night, but my teacher said it’s natural and completely ok and we’ll do it right next time and bwah ha ha ha ha ha you are human after all.

We’ve had good rain.

A tree fell over and knocked down a part of my wall, but it didn’t kill the cat.

Another tree fell over and took out the power supply for the entire street, which resulted in me meeting neighbours I’d never met before.

I bought the right yarn.

I had my offer accepted on a flat/apartment the other day… happy happy.

I joined the [bragging] Straight Dope Message Board[/bragging]

Now, can anyone tell me how a person with no credit card can get a permanent membership. I dont have paypal or anything. Can I send a check? Money Order?

I’ve been seeing someone for about six weeks. I believe that I’ve acquired a boyfriend!

On Monday, the CEO of our company sent around an email that said, “You guys did such a great job this year that everyone gets an extra day off. Have fun.”

I got my copy of The Movies yesterday, and it’s as much fun as I’d hoped.

After sleeping on the couch for two months due to a herniated disk in my neck…I am finally able to sleep back in my own bed!!! The little things can mean so much sometimes…

I got to take a parents-only tour of the school my daughter will go to soon. The tour guides were two 12 year olds who were impressively bright, articulate, and charming.

I’m heading off tomorrow for my vacation in Australia.

All the propositions on the California special election ballot that I opposed got voted down.

My mom agreed to adopt my step-sister, so now we’ll be REAL sisters!

I just discovered the goodness that is Korean tofu soup. It’s delicious, comforting, and cheap - and just in time for winter! There are many Korean joints around San Jose, so I now have another inexpensive yummy lunch option.

I just saved a bunch of-

Damn!! :smack:

Hmmm…what else…
I made a leek and watercress soup for the first time, and it turned out quite nice. And I have enough left over for 3 more meals!

At parent teacher conference I learned that my son is so good at math that he gets to go to enrichment come January.

Do you have a recipe, perchance?

I’m pretty sure that the recipe in this link is the same thing that I had. If so, it looks pretty easy; the version I had included bits of shredded, stir-fried beef.

Oo, that does look good. Thanks!

I got a 4% raise today - which makes for an overall increase of 11% this year!

Monday, my wife of 10 years was diagnosed with a type of thyroid cancer that could have been much, much worse. This is very beatable, apparently.

This is, indeed, good news.

Yeah, but like most good yarns, it is probably an urban legend.
I finished a huge proposal for work yesterday and got it FedEx-ed off in time. With any luck it will drum up some business for the firm so I won’t be fired in January. And for doing it, I got some good pats on the back from the upper mucky mucks, so I guess that is good too.
