Tell me some GOOD news.

And no, you saving money on your car insurance by switching to Geico doesn’t count. : p
Tell me about ANY good news that happened to you or that’s been in your life in the last 2 or 3 days.
Me, I won a free 1 liter Coke product.

Fire Emblem became mine. Bwahahahahah!

I lost another pound. 21 total. Go me!

Ooh, well done!

I found a good chinese place that delivers. Important because having recently moved into this town, I was at a loss to find a good one.

Random people at work keep telling me that they hear I’m doing well* at poker, which means that people are talking about the fact that I’ve been doing well at poker, which is kind of cool.

  • “Well” is a relative term, of course: I’ve only been playing for a little over a month, and it’s only been the last two tournaments that I’ve so much as won a hand. But in the last one I finished 4[sup]th[/sup] out of 9 players, and the one before that I finished 2[sup]nd[/sup] (again out of 9) – and even took home a little cash!

I just found a $2 coin on the footpath while I was out at lunchtime.

I made a pot I actually like in pottery class tonight!

My boyfriend told me he loves me.

He’s said it before, but I sure enjoy hearing it.

I just saw the new pay raise schedule for US Military. Not only do I get a 3% pay increase next year, but Jan 18th will start my fourth year and put me into a higher pay step!! So I will be making over 200 more per month next year. I’m happy about that. I like money a lot!

A new grocery store opened up near me, and it is vastly superior to the other major chains nearby.

I had a second interview to be a manager with a national nonprofit on Monday. Should hear next week. And tonight I got a call from the DA’s office of a local county- a job I interviewed for (but didn’t get) in victim’s services a few months ago has a second slot opening up, and I’m on preferential hiring status. I go for my second interview next week.

Either job would allow us to have my husband be a full-time dad.

I just started a great new job doing something I’m good at.

My SO just got called up for an interview for The Perfect Internship at an international engineering company.

Me and my friends invented this game called, on different occasions, Ultimate Rugby, Crewball, and Ravenna Rules Football. It’s played with a football. You line up like football, with a center, usually a lineman or two, and receivers. The quarterback hikes the ball and then throws it to one of his teammates or hands it off behind the line. Sound like football? Well, this is where it gets exciting. Each team only gets one down, and then its a turnover wherever they were tackled. However, forward passes are legal anywhere on the field. So basically, if you are about to get tackled, you just throw the ball away. There are no penalties for things like holding, pass interference, or anything like that. It’s pretty much the most fun game ever. So that made me happy.

Our new lounge arrived yesterday and it’s gorgeous.

My younger brother proposed to his girlfriend on Saturday night and she said yes.

My parents are stopping by for a night at the beginning of a week long trip (hubby and I get along great with my parents but they hardly ever come by to visit. We usually take a weekend to visit them since they’re 2 hours away).

I have the new George R.R. Martin book. Mmm…pretty, pretty book.

I didn’t get the axe when my company went on a layoff spree today.

<whew!>

I got a 20/20 on my last creative writing assignment, which was poetry. I hate writing poetry with a passion, so this was a real surprise. And one of my professors told me that she thinks that I have what it takes to “hack it” as a college professor, which completely made my day.

I received high scores on tests in two of my college classes, and I gained a perfect score on an examination I needed to take for graduation.

I got 42/50 for my Intellectual Property Law essay, worth 50% of my final course grade. That considerably lessens the pressure for next Monday’s final exam.
