Did I hear ems around? I could’a sworn I heard her voice… looks around
Congrats to Mr Rebo!
I am in here, trying to get ready for work and also trying not to cry because I just sent #2 son (who is 11) to the airport to fly to my parents for a 4 day trip.
I have noticed that I don’t seem to mind any of my kids going on road trips, but airplanes I get very anxious about. I don’t have a fear of flying, but…
I hope he’s ok. (I know he’ll be ok, it’s just…). Gack.
Yay for Firday!
Yay for Mr. Rebo!

My house is on city sewer, thank Og! Well worth the monthly bill. We had septic at our old house without problems but the neighbors had a house full of extended family and the tank would leak out onto the sidewalk.
Gosh, ems! It seems like it was just 20 days till hubby comes.
I am this → ← close to committing a career limiting act at my job. The people I work with are making me ill. No, I won’t do it but I can dream.

Good morning everyone. I was up waaaaaaaaaay too late playing with Wii and I’m very, very tired now.
ems, hope those six sleeps zoom by!
I love camping, but my kids just aren’t that much into it now. They used to love it, but when I bring it up now, all I hear is “Why should we spend several days pretending we’re homeless?”.
Sigh, maybe someday I’ll get to go again.
I need to get some coffee.
Thanks for the sympathy for my parents. They’re sadder than I think they expected to be. They’ve had pets before, but they were more of outdoor pets in the country. Not suggly, cuddly, in-the-house-all-the-time pets. And Pumbaa just had a really lovable personality.
Today hasn’t been very productive at work. The power was out when I got here and didn’t come back on until almost 9. Then the data was bad so we couldn’t run any analyses. And then my computer was doing an update install so it was running really slowly. Now I think it’s time to go home (half day Firday. Woo!).
Have a good weekend! I’ll report back next week if I try grilled okra!
I don’t think I can celebrate Firday - I may have to work this weekend.
About 10 this morning, they dragged a bunch of us to the Ops Center and told us there was a super-high-profile, super-short-turnaround tasker and we may have to do 24/7 till it’s done. And because of the nature of the task, I may have to go back to working my old area of specialty because so many who used to do that have quit. That part’s not bad. But if I get stuck on the mid shift, I will not be happy.
There was to be a meeting of the mucky-mucks at 2 today, and they said we should hear something by 4. Which is about 15 minutes… So till I hear, I can’t be happy.
Guess that’s why I get the big bucks.
Well crap, FCM. That sucks. I hope you aren’t stuck with mid-shift.
That stinks, FCM, but if it’s that high profile, then maybe it’ll at least be interesting? (I’m such an optimist!)
I was just wondering how many sleeps till hubby time, mmmmmmmmmmmm. (Actually, I was thinking that we hadn’t heard from you and then I remembered you’d been out of town.)
Hope #2 son has a great time with the grandparents, rigs. My brother, who is not little at all, travels lots. I don’t worry about him too much when he’s flying around the U.S., but when he travels overseas, I suddenly get antsy. I was very happy to hear from him this afternoon (he just got back from England and was waiting for a connecting flight home).
Lotsa stuff to do this weekend. Garden is in need of weeding and pruning all over the place. House needs a bunch of general cleaning. Also want to make a few things in the kitchen: turnip pickles and lasagna rolls.
But right now, I’m just gonna chill a bit.
Back later.

Well, I got the call - on my cell - why the heck didn’t they call the house?? Anyway, I work tomorrow and Sunday, 7-5. That’s 20 hours this weekend. I guess I’ll find out in the morning whether this will carry over to next week.
And I’m going to be working my new specialty, which I’m almost but not quite done in training. I found out who I’m going to be working with - ugh - a jerky coworker. It’s going to be a long 10-hour day.
I am not a happy camper.
Today, I have accomplished nothing, except to be banned from ever seeing my friend Bethy again by her ultraconservative fundamentalist genuinely-crazy OCD psychopath of a mother. You think I am exaggerating, no doubt, but I assure you this woman (and the father of the friend in question as well) are so far right-wing, they make the very worst of the Southern Baptists look left-leaning.
I’ve only met this woman once. Me and my friend watched Lord of the Rings. I guess I must have made a hell of an impression in that timeframe…
Other than that, I sat on my tail. I did make tonight’s dinner though - crab-stuffed flounder. So I guess the day wasn’t a total wash. Oh, and I’m thinking of taking up a tabletop game that my friend Ed recommended to me, which is sort of like Warhammer, except you make all the units in your tiny army out of LEGOs. So yeah… Using LEGO blocks to build a robot army and battle other people’s tiny robot armies. Nerdvana.
Sorry about the double 10-hour shifts, FCM.
hey
Oh my yes, TGIF … FIRDAY at that!
Sorry for your parent’s loss, Taxi; pets really are members of the family. Sending hugs their way. And sorry to hear that you have to work this weekend, FCM, esp. long hours like that, with someone you don’t like–sucks.
Sending positive vibes your way, though.
At least my work week is over with - and it was pretty much the week from hell. I definitely contemplated filling out those retirement papers! But … I did make it to the pool -twice- this week; today’s venture I spent about 40 minutes walking in the water and then about 10 minutes in the hot tub. Boy, the water in there was very warm, but it felt good, esp. on my lower back! It really does seem to be the best way for me to get exercise, because it doesn’t hurt my knees to walk in the water.
My son goes back to college next Friday, so this week coming up will be much running around and getting things together for him (clothes, dorm room stuff, etc.). I’ll really miss him, but at the same time, my food supplies will no longer be gobbled up right away! LOL
Oh yes, Moonie, sounds like you had an excellent vacation.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
Pulling bambilance duty. A fine night of butt picking so far.
There. I said more than BioRosie in her last post.
Sorry about your friend, Moonie. Amazing how awful some people can be (and how their kids can turn out to be perfectly reasonable). Game sounds like fun, though. My nephew loves Lego-based video games. I wonder if he’d like Lego-based board games too…?
Wow, FCM, getting to work with a jerk 10 hours a day doesn’t sound fun at all. Hang in there.
Not sure how it got to be 11:15. I watched a couple of shows online and knit some and… I really should fall asleep now.
Nitey nite, everyone!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. It’s Saturday and almost the weekstart! YAY!!!
Sorry about your havin’ to work this weekend MOOOOOOM. I trust you shall be compensated?
I made another two batches of cheese thangs yesterday for the anniversary do. JDD will be by this mornin’ to pick ‘em up and take up to that metropolis known as Parrot, GA where the do will be held. After work I’ll come home and spiff up and ol’ y’all know who and I will head up. Big day. Rah!
Ok, time for more caffiene and I need brekkies.
Later Y’all!
I’m up. And rather more awake than I wanted to be. (I was hoping to sleep in, but I’ve been awake since 6:30 or so.)
Guess I should get moving and get something done…
Happy Saturday everyone! (And happy anniversary to JDD’s parents!)

Up and caffeinating - have been since about 7:30 am, but having issues with the SDMB site, apparently! It keeps hanging up for me, no problems with other sites, so I’m guessing it must be something there.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, and sending soothing thoughts FCM’s way. Sorry about your friend also, Moonie.
Yeah, it’s been wonky for the last couple of days, tarra. I don’t normally have the issues that people complain about, but I’ve gotten data base errors every day this week, I think.
I’ve frittered away an hour and a half watching knitting videos (Estonian lace is cool!) and looking at shawl patterns.
Really got to get moving!

Have made progress. Lots of weeding. Some pruning. Lots of watering.
Sadly, still lots to go. I keep trying to make up reasons to go out to a nursery or Lowe’s or JoAnn’s, but so far I’m being a good girl.
Quiet here today.
Back with further updates on my exciting life.

ETA: Board really wonky. I can see that my post took, but when I go back to the Main forum page or the MPSIMS main page: nada. Weird.
ETA Some More: And now it’s there.
Good morning everyone! I’m up, but I don’t want to be. However, I promised my son I’d take him to the credit nion before he had to work today, so here I am up, showered, but still groggy. Need coffee, dammit.
I am hoping against all hope that tomorrow I can sleep in, not have anyone come over, not have to go anywhere, or do anything. I am TAHRED.
Seems I’ve been running and doing all week, I’ve been staying up waaaay too late, and now it’s all catching up with me. Good thing I still have another week of vacation, but next week promises to be even more busy.
I skimmed, but didn’t retain. Sorry. Nothing is sticking, so hugs and kisses to all.
