terryobrien80, get fucked

Be careful about that language. It might get you banned.

It just illustrates that most christians don’t take the entire bible literally. That’s all.

Er, really?

Well, it’s a ‘tongue in cheek’ example, but I do believe that most christians really don’t take the whole bible literally.

To be crystal clear, I accept that my choice appears irrational to an outside, neutral observer, and that it’s a perfectly appropriate reaction to call it irrational.

Obviously, I believe my choice is rational. But I recognize that the basis for that belief is experiential evidence that I cannot convincingly share or demonstrate, so that an observer attempting to discern the reasons for my belief would correctly conclude, based on the information available to him, that my choice was irrational.

On the other hand, they don’t go on and on ad nauseam about the difference between irrational and rational but unjustifiable beliefs, either, so they’ve got that going for them.

Just kidding.

If you weren’t so niggardly, you would have made that bet.

Except the part about Noah slaying the whale that swallowed Moses after he departed the Red Sea.

I’d argue that NO Christian takes the whole bible literally. (No one thinks there’s a physical “firmament” holding up the water in the sky, for instance. And yesiknow young earthers explain that the firmament went away during the flood, to which I say, where in the bible does it say that?)

Since the subject of the OP is no longer with us, I’m going to close this thread.
