I’m going to use for my sig.
Yay me.
Joe K, that stuff looks so cool!
But why would the crucifix at the bottom be coded as a “dagger”?
It’s not a crucifix, since it doesn’t have Jesus hanging on it. It’s arguably a cross. But the most common purpose for that symbol, in text, is as a dagger, which is used in the same way as an asterix to indicate a footnote. In some fonts, it has more of a daggerish shape, with a handle, hilt, and blade, but some fonts simplify it to a cross shape.
Yeah, I was a bit surprised by its cross-like nature…
Heh, Aslan, I saw that on your sig an hour ago, and was wondering if you got that idea from here…
testinations…
What is this thing anyhow? I just chose it for it’s “S” appearance, so if it’s a satanic symbol, or anti-someone or something, do lemme know so i can change!
§ is used in legal writing and means “section”. It’s related to ¶, which means “paragraph”
Disclaimer: IANAL, and this may be wrong. I don’t know if I used the correct American expressions.
Where do you get all those symbols from?
Thanks for the info, Chronos.
I just opened the Character Map, in Windows. You get them by holding the Alt key and pressing various numbers on the keypad. Once you release Alt, poof, there’s your symbol.
Fun!
more coding practice…
[ul][]This is a test.[]I sure hope it works.But if it doesn’t, i’ll just try again![/ul]

Oh, and I use the HTML code outlined somewhere on Arnold Winklereid’s site.
I had to misspell his name…:smack:
I mean Arnold Winkelried…
Sorry.
Yep, you’re right.
You can generate them by pressing the [Alt] key while typing, from the numeric keypad, “20” for ¶ and “21” for §.
I, too, must practice…
…a spoiler.
What happened to
…my sig?
Ah, there it is.
sig test.
How do you do the spoiler?
I’ve searched and searched and other peoples’ tests are the only hint.
Type This:
Everyone loves the Homestar Runner
To get:
