Thank You, Glenn Beck; Buh Bye, ACORN!

<Shodan>
See? You said it! Right there!
</Shodan>

:wink:

And you, sir, are funny as hell! I just about spilled my left-wing latte mocha with extra non-fat skim!

A person who isn’t stupid might note that employees doing something shady against the companies directives is different than doing something as an assignment from the company.

But you’re a fucking jingoistic sack of pig semen, so I guess you wouldn’t appreciate that.

Oink. :smiley:

The bombshell has dropped!

Over at Breitbarts Big Hairy Ass Government site, the source for all truth and especially truth about the dark and sinister ACORN conspiracy…

http://biggovernment.com/

Note: I include the link as a formality, but cannot recommend it, I have already bitten the bullshit, and have tighty-righty cooties nibbling on my hard drive even as we speak! So, you have been warned, proceed at your own peril!

Exclusive: ACORN Illegally Operating in Maryland

(We are not advised as to how this is “exclusive”, perhaps in the same way that a properly run swimming pool is exclusive of riff-raff…)

Now, take a breath, here it comes: grit yer teeth. Ready?

I reel. I swoon. I clutch my pearls and faint dead away. And then, of course, I gasp in horror! Any ACORN office in Maryland is “potentially” operating illegally!

And what fresh hell is hidden in that word “potentially”? Could it be operating methadone clinics in day-care centers? Could they be installing death panels in our finished basements? Could they be offering fashion advice to clueless, pasty-face preppy scum who want to pretend to be “playahs”? We are not advised, no doubt this is discretion on their part, their readers are of delicate sensibilities and easily shocked. They draw a discreet veil over the outrage to protect the reader from confronting the full horror of the potential abomination.

I am, of course, shocked…shocked and sickened!…by this horrific news, and only hope I can see through the tears as I fill out this Republican Party registration form…

Hey Stephe, welcome back to the thread, I thought that we lost you there for a while. I was sort of hoping that you might be able to finally answer the question that Damuri Ajashi first posed, oh, back when this thread was still less than 1 full page; I asked 2 additional times for you to answer, and this is the 3rd, and I hope final time. In case you’d like your memory refreshed, here’s the query once more:

Good Og, man, pay attention! Its right in front of your face, they were “potentially operating illegally”! Right there in black and white! When they opened their doors in the morning and cranked up the Mr Coffee machine, they were an illegal conspiracy in operation!

And had been for years! And not merely a criminal conspiracy, but a “potential” criminal conspiracy, which makes it that much worse! Actual crimes can be defined and measured, “potential” crime has no such limitations! Were they in contact with Al Queda, conspiring to dark deeds of terrorism? Well, we don’t know that, now do we? But the potential is there, that much is undeniable!

Ask yourself: just how far from al Quran is ACORN, hmmmm? Wake up America!

Eh, er, never mind.

The bitch about ACORN is because mass voter registration increases the share of democrats in the voting pool. Repubs have an easier time getting registered. The poor have less access to transportation and have less of a history of voting. The ACORN problem is that they are likely not signing up as many repubs as dems. That is why they scream loud and long and make up stories to try and kill them.

Ah, I must admit the latest ACORN bombshell is no big deal. It’s apparently just an ACORN employee admitting that she murdered her abusive husband. Premeditated murder, mind you, but so what?

Theresa discloses that her ex-husband abused her and “beat the hell out of” her. She then continues to confess, “I killed him . . . . I shot him.” She notes that she had laid some “groundwork” beforehand.

Count me as one who hadn’t even heard of ACORN until last year. The amount of manufactured outrage over this group is so depressing to see when there are so many real injustices that are far more harmful that will never be granted the same forum.

ACORN made her do it!

Egotist te absolvo. Stay, and sin no more.

Eh, cheer up. Sometimes you get a fat man, sometimes a little boy.

Well aren’t you just so cute! I’m going to put this up on my fridge right now. Would you like a popsicle?

Well, OK, it wasn’t exactly da bomb, but you’re just fishin’ for a response!

Whores? Whores!!!

Why didn’t I think of that? :smack:

Some say because you were dropped on your head at birth, but I have $20 riding on oxygen deprivation in the womb.

Dopers should be advised that nominations for SDMB Straight Line Set Up of the Year Award for 2009 are now closed. It is not possible to beat that one.

<takes a bow>

This is a whoosh, right? I mean you’re surely familiar with the Fallacy of Composition, right? Because one part of ACORN (an employee) may have admitted to a criminal act in her personal life, it does not follow that the organization as a whole is responsible for the criminal act. This is not rocket science here Stephe96. You can grasp this, right?

And you’re also aware that nobody (except for a small fringe) really thinks that ACORN is some shadowy left-leaning conspiracy to corrupt democracy, right?
