Manny, I haven’t been online much recently and when I have it’s usually been just a MPSIMS drive-by so I didn’t know this was going on but I DO want to voice my opinion.
I think you’re doing a fantastic job. You mods are easy targets and I’m sure people don’t realise what a thankless job it can be. But some of us (ie MOST of us) do appreciate it, even if we sometimes forget to tell you.

A Thank You Note To All (You too Manhattan)
First things first: (The Praise I Give You All Is; In My Humble Opinion)
To all dopers: Thank you for your participation in my threads. This means all of you, whether you agree with me or not. This is free speech at its finest.
To all moderators: Thank you for your guidance and occasional corrections to my thread placements. From all that I have seen, you do a really fine job. I especially appreciate your admonitions to the flame prone when they flare up in an inappropriate forum. (Doper Hat Off)
To the webmaster: Great job. These boards run very smoothly. Out of a hundred posts, only one ever had trouble registering in its correct forum. That constitutes a pretty fine track record of 99% on target. (Poster Hat Off)
Last but not least. To Cecil: What a great place to encounter minds that are still firing on most of their cylinders. Thank you for this wonderful cyberfamily.
To you dopers who are about to read this, I salute you:
I have posted some funny threads like “How to tell you’ve cut a winning fart”. I have posted some nostalgic threads like, “Favorite Mel Blanc quotes”. And I have posted some downright inflammatory threads like, “A SUV and a BMW almost collide. Whom do you laugh at first?” Your responses to all of them have ranged from very supportive to downright obnoxious, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I can’t take it, I sure as heck better not dish it out. It gives me great pride to see how many of my threads have gone on into multi-page extravaganzas. Some, very funny, others quite contentious. The food for thought that I have served up, is well met by the same exact fare that has landed on my own plate. As a scientific person of artistic bent (keyword: Bent), I can only give my heartfelt thanks for all the fun that I’ve experienced and shared.
