We need to invent a time machine so **Jah ** can just skip from September right into November next year
{{{Jahdra}}} You’re doing good. Thanks for talking about it a bit; it does help understand your pain. And sharing pain really does help in some unknown fashion, in my experience, anyway.
Is it bedtime yet? I just want to lie down and put my feet up and not move. But I can’t till I finish this stupid job. Stupid, stupid man. Aargh!
Checking in – rather late. Busy day, but the warehouse manager has been back and helping out again, which is cool, and one of the outside sales guys is also fielding tech calls, so some of the pressure is off us grunts. I can now happily redirect those tech calls and not have to deal with them, which I am quite unqualified to do in most cases (though I can answer a few things). Next week we should be more or less back to normal, at least for a few weeks until our main tech guy goes off gallivanting around the country teaching his annual dealer update schools.
Rosie - Now there’s an explanation of Jewish food I can get behind. I’m still not likely to eat most of it, but at least I have a new understanding of it.
Dotty - Well, look on the bright side. It sounds like you’ve fulfilled your annual quota of “those days,” so you can probably look forward to escaping the remainder of the year with less hassle.
BooFae - Twunt? I like it. It’s twice as twattish! As for the Uni – welcome to Bureaucrasy! Before registering your complaint, please fill out this form and have it copied and signed by the bureau ombudsman, Grievance Department administrator, and the sad old man who sits at the desk on the third floor whose job it is to sign things on Fridays between 3:30pm and 3:45pm. Then have the form faxed over to the Department of Forwarding, who will fax it on to the Review Board who will look it over, put a little blue checkmark on it, and then fax it back to you at the Communications Facility across town no later than Tuesday of next week. Just bring that form back to us within fifteen minutes of its arrival and we’ll be glad to consider your grievances.
One hour left, more or less, then I go home. Can I sleep for the rest of the shift?
I have added ears, snouts, and tails to 3 doggie jars. Later on, I’m going to put handles on the mugs and bowls. Then it’ll be time to underglaze.
busy busy busy…

Yep, Grandma can be fun. And she can be awful. And she can switch between the two between two sentences, so you never know what’s coming next! I just go along and deal and bite my tongue really hard because, well, she’s 87, and she’s not going to change now. And I really do think she means well, but (for example) harassing me about what I eat/don’t eat isn’t going to make me eat what she wants me to eat when she wants me to eat it. I worshipped the ground she walked on when I was little, like you’re supposed to, but I’ve grown up since then, and I see things more clearly. Oh well, I can deal. I just go complain elsewhere. I do love her. I just want to get through without killing her!
I was a good girl, I got a flu shot today. They were having a clinic at the “town hall” of the development, so we both went. My arm feels a touch weird but it wasn’t bad at all, there wasn’t even a line. Watch me get the flu now, for the first time in my life!
Tomorrow I head out, and I’m glad. It’s been nice seeing people here but I really want to get back to my own life. I’m going to miss the shopping, though my bank account won’t!
Arrrrrgggghhh! It’s a wonder I am not blind after working on the press releases I had today and yesterday. If this keeps up I am going to go put my application in at Target. I can hand out carts.
{{{{Jah}}}
rigs, have you ever read Stumbling on Happiness by Daniel Gilbert? It’s not a self-help book at all but it really gives you an insight into why people make the choices they do in their lives.
We are due for our lovely Fall weather tomorrow. Highs in the mid 80s. Sweeeet!
Appropriate comments to all. Must get back to work.
ETA: I got my flu shot today and now my arm is owie! I’ll take that over the flu any day.
Tupug
Howdy Y’all! How’s everybody? I slept really good today. I was tahred this mornin’. That’s Why I didn’t post. I came home, took a shower, was gonna mess around a bit before goin’ sleepy bye but could hardly keep my eyes open, so I took a melatonin and went to bed. I slept til 3:30 this afternoon too. So, I am well rested. The big news at work is the proposed MillerCoors merger or whatever ya wanna call it. This should make for an interestin’ few months as this all plays out.
Roo all my ts are pocket ts. I have them in black, dark blue, light blue, gray and purple. They are f-aaaaaa-bu-lous but then again since they are mine they naturally would be.
I wear a pocket t and either blue or black jeans to work every day (or night as the case may be as of late). Tonight I’m thinkin’ light blue with black jeans.
Ok, for those who asked, this is Country Captain. I am not a big Emiril fan but this is a good CC recipe. The secret is to keep the chicken warm. Also, if you don’t want to use a whole cut up chicken, you can use like just chicken boobs, laigs, or thighs or a combo of all three which is what I do cause those are my favorite chicken pieces.
OK, gonna go tidy up and go meet ol’ y’all know who for dindin. We’re goin’ to the good Eyetalian place which is good cause I’ll have some leftovers and will prolly take ‘em to eat tonight. Can y’all imagine eatin’ Eyetalian at 3:30 A.M.? I’ll be hungry enough by then to do that. Last night I had fried chicken cause it bein’ Wednesday and all, it was fried chicken day in the cafeteria. Gotta admit the cafeteria at work makes pretty dang good fried chicken.
Alrighty then, purtification and dindin time.
Later Y’all!
I can’t believe I forgot to mention this earlier. Today, when I arrived at the courthouse, I (brace yourselves) ***parallel parked!!! * ** Oh yes I did - got all parked first time. You may stand in awe.

Of course, a full-size parking space is way huge for a Scion xA, but still, I did it just like I learned in driver’s ed in 1971. Go me.
yeah, it’s pretty pathetic that that was the high spot of my day…
VERY COOL BIT OF MUNDANERY
I just found out that Nikki Blonski (star of Hairspray the movie musical) is (drumroll please) the daughter of one of my old highschool classmates! I’ll be signing autographs over by the squid tank.
And to think that I envied my Jewish schoolmates their peanut butter and jelly matzoh sandwiches (I still say nothing beats a PB & J matzoh sandwich when you’re 9).
I am home from work-took a nap. It’s cold outside! I love it, but I am a bit chilly.
Jahdra–I am sorry for your loss and for your pain. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Take this week one day at a time…
Tupug–I’m somewhat leery of self help books at present, but I’ll look into. Thanks.
MT-hope you’re foot is better soon. I don’t know how you listen to drivel all day. Can you talk back to the machine? I sure would…
BooFae–I like twunt. Is this the same person as Tin Knickers or do you have the misfortune of working with two such stellar examples of humankind?
Off to waste time, probably by reading murder mysteries. A nice hot bath sounds good, too.
Geez, rosie, you couldn’t let me bask for more than 11 minutes, could you? Just had to steal my spotlight. Fine. Be that way. Draw the admiring throngs away from me. If your life is *that * pathetic…
uh… yeah…

I just finished putting handles on the last 4 pieces - 2 coffee mugs, and 2 big soup bowl/mug things. No more assembly for this batch. Over the next few days, I’ll be doing underglazing/decorating of all my stuff, and letting it dry out. This time next week, I should be able to fire it all, then next Saturday, I’ll price and pack and get ready for the next show. I was hoping to have a couple of Christmas items, but there’s no way. Maybe next show…

Tomorrow would have been my mother’s 72nd birthday. The 19th will be 19 years since she died. I miss her.
I just finished the newsletter for the Booster Club; I’m glad that is done. Now I just have to take it to get copies made, fold it and mail it. Grrrrrr.
I went to the chiropractor today and she gave me “THE LOOK” for overdoing it on Saturday. My back hurts, but not as bad as it did when I went in this afternoon.
I picked up my season tickets today. Training camp starts Monday! Hockey season is almost here!
Hugs for Jahdra and SCL. Hope the rest of October passes less painfully for both of you.
I am extremely proud of your parallel parking prowess, FCM. (Do I get extra points for alliteration?) I became really good at parallel parking on the left side of the street a while back. I lived on a one-way street and all we had was on-street parking.
rosie almost knows someone who’s famous.
On that shooting.
I think I have a sinus infection. Not what I needed. It hit me really quickly today at work. I’m feeling a little better now, but I’m thinking I might see if I can get in to see my doctor tomorrow. Ick. At least it kinda explains why I’ve been feeling so tired the last couple days.
Yes, Haze attended our Dopefest, LiLi, although she didn’t stay terribly long, if that helps.
I’m vegging yet again tonight.
Back after a while, maybe…
GT
FCM - I do salute your conquering of the elusive parallel park, but you already have everyone’s (including mine) admiration for your clay creations. I have to scrounge for my celebrity
Greetings everyone!
I’m going to give a big hug to all. Seems like quite a few of you are sad, not feeling well, or have to deal with rude/idiotic people.
Bobbio, I’m glad your son is okay. I think I would have been uh, slightly worked up if that happened to one of my kids.
Work, has been…well…work. Still working on some computer issues there, but things are slowly returning to normal in that department.
Tonights chop-chop will be Tatertot Casserole. Mr. Taters asked for it, so I’m indulging him.
I’m tired and feeling somewhat discombobulated. I need to get the ol’ dinner going, I guess.
My first fireplace fire of the season is tonight!
:: confetti ::
I got a load of nice firewood from a nursery here a couple weeks back. Nice price and they deliver.
Mmmmmmmm, cherry.
That’s the one thing I miss about my woodstove. The actual smell of the woodsmoke.
I have a gas fireplace now. Pretty, warm, easy, but sometimes it would be nice to smell the wood.
::jealous over MBG’s fire-too lazy to do my own fire::
Does anyone else find a strange, poignant irony in that Dotty lives in the desert, but seems to be under water? Whichever, but crawling baby and water on the floor=disaster. Hope it clears up soon. And MIL is a lousy landlady. Just sayin’.
I’m all bathed and in a warm glow from it. I loves me a hot bath when it’s cold outside. The only thing to beat it is a hot tub outside when it’s snowing–a favorite memory of mine. Don’t look so shocked–I used to be young and adventurous and free spirited! Tis true.
off to bed soon. Another day of work awaits. this one without cool, great coworkers–the crabby, bossy one is back from vacation as of tomorrow. Someday I’ll tell you all stories about her. She’s a piece o’ work.
I hate parallel parking. It’s the main reason I refuse to drive in the city.
The job search trudges on. You know what annoys me? The only college I can find with an English adjunct opening right now is the one That Guy is going to be teaching at next semester. The instructor for my Teaching in the Community College class (back in grad school) said he could recommend me to the college he teaches at now, but they don’t have any English openings at present. I really don’t want to end up teaching with That Guy at the same college again - plus the college is a hell of a commute - but it pays so much better than what I’m doing now. Even with the extra commuting expenses.
Well, there’s also an opening at the college right next to my apartment (it pays crap though) so I’m going to apply to that too and see what happens. Hopefully some more positions will open up before long.
