We found a new breakfast place down in Leonardtown. I read about it on our local message board and since I had to drop of a prescription at the CVS, we went into “downtown” Leonardtown (all 2 blocks of it) to eat at Linda’s Cafe. They won me over when my ham-swiss-mushroom omelette was made with fresh mushrooms! YUM! We shall return.
My new cabinet is assembled and my wet work is inside it. I’ve got a load of towels in the dryer and some jeans in the washer. When the next load goes in the washer, I’ll get back to work in the studio. And sometime later today, I’ll go back to Leonardtown to pick up my meds. Oh yeah, I know how to whoop it up on my day off.
That’s where Papa Tigs ate lunch the day he came down to visit us at the craft show, FCM – he had a burger, which he said was very good, and he noted them seem to specialize in breakfasts. Which would make sense.
Hello again Cool Kids! Though I haven’t posted in a few months I hope that I still retain a little bit of my former Cool Kid status.
The puns have been great so far. I have a perverse love of puns (especially bad ones), but unfortunately I am not very good at coming up with them myself.
Last time I posted here I think it was about my mother and father’s… displeasure with my life style choices. Well my mother came around a little bit, and though she still thinks that I am sinner bound for hell (she is tactful enough not to actually put it that way) she at least is willing to talk to me and we have occasionally had dinner together. She still seems more comfortable pretending Meli doesn’t exist, but I am slowly trying to work on that.
As for my father, we still have not spoken in the last 13 weeks, which I believe makes it officially the longest we have ever gone without interacting. I just sent him an email to hopefully break the ice, but I know that he has not changed his position one bit so the best I can hope for is a truce.
On a lighter note I get the day off today because it is Columbus Day! I had forgotten that there was even such a thing as Columbus Day, but there is nothing like a day off to remind you to celebrate the heroes of our collective history, so today I celebrated the life of the famous explorer by staying in bed until 10:00.
gt, I have to admit that the paper shredders at work are still fun for me. You have to understand that I grew up in a very low-tech home in the middle of nowhere (we didn’t have satellite or cable until I was in my junior year of high school) and even though I have lived on my own for five years now I still forget that I have things like paper shredders and garbage disposals available to me now.
You know what? I haven’t even looked at the first page of the MMP. And it’s not because I hate swampy, but because of the reported rampant punnage happening in there. So I ain’t gonna look.
I opened up my email account this morning, and had about two dozen Friend’s Requests for MySpace. And yep, they were all tarts looking for me to take a look at their webcam page. I marked them all as spam and rejected them outright, but I noticed a few things. Firstly, they all had a variation of this as their “Who I’d Like To Meet” paragraph:
Pretty damn obvious that these aren’t real people.
But what I really found intriguing was the guys that had already added them as friends. These appeared to be real people, with real profiles. Who are these sad bastards that they feel that Lola would take time out of her busy cam schedule day to send them the typical MySpace inanities? You know, make sleazy comments about their own pictures, the 80-question quizzes that seem to be on eternal recirc, and offers to visit their page to listen to their newest release?
So how y’all doing today? What did I miss from the first page besides the puns?
I like the second picture of him where he looks like, 'what’s up, dude? If he’s still there, tell him we said hi.
And happy thanksgiving!
Welcome to the MMP to all the newbies!
I’ve been surprise invited to the dentist (just for a routine cleaning–I guess they had people cancel on them due to the holiday) So beat that for pitiful things to be doing on a holiday!
Have a great day!
Ya know, it occurred to me that I only have to work three days this week. Nice!!
Today is a holiday and this coming Friday is my RDO.
My dog is lying on the floor, right next to my feet. He’s my pal.
I don’t have a MySpace account, Sean. Both of my kids do, but really, it’s all I can do to keep up here. There’s no way I want to try keep up that too.
Howdy new folks! Glad my puns got ya to come on in. The MMP is well, about nuttin’ in particular. It’s just where we come in to post MPS instead of startin’ new MPSIMS threads.
I believe our motto goes sump’n like this:
“The MMP keeping MPSIMS all neat and tidy cause we’re nice dammit!”
Yay for all the added puns! I knew I could count on y’all! Oh and Sean they’re really sophisticated haikus, not puns at all in my OP. Really. Would I lie to you?
Ok I slept about six hours which is good I guess. Maybe I can catch a quick nap around sevenish just to make sure I don’t get sleepified at work. I still don’t like this one bit. However, I shall deal.
Rebo one time to many is one time to many, so I don’t blame ya. Sometimes ya just gotta let people know how they stand in your life.
I first got mine about six months after it got popular. A lot of my friends are in bands, and they use it to keep people informed of their upcoming shows, and new releases, etc. And that’s what I use it for. But over the years it’s gotten more and more of a chore to use, and now I rarely do anything except add some pictures every now and then, and check the band news.
I have a Yiddish pun! So, in Yiddish, chrain means horse or horseradish. The joke is as follows: So, it’s spring, but the Jews in Spain have no horseradish, so they had to fly some in. The plane got stuck at the Madrid airport, so it was said: The chrain in Spain mainly stays on the plane!
Sean, those “hot babes” send friend requests to me even! Yes, I have a My Space page, and I even have a few music-oriented friends there. I don’t keep up with it very often though and admit that I mostly got it to try to stay current with my 20 YO son.
I’ve just been lolling about today, enjoying my day off - happy Columbus Day and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, btw. I was even able to squeeze a nap in (LOL) and what do I dream about?! An amusement park!! Strangely enough, it’s one I’ve dreamt about before, but I’ll be darned if it’s any park I remember going to. Once it was near the beach; today, it was in a large grassy field. It was kind of like one of those carnivals, but with bigger rides, and all spread out. I got hurt riding an airplane-style carnival ride once, when I was a kid, and sure enough, there was one of those rides in there. Very strange!
Where to start? We could poke fun at the newbie chocolate pie giving Kid, to make him/her cry. <evil smiley here>
(just kidding-I’m not that mean)
or we could beat some of these punners to death. Or not. (Mods-not a real death threat, really!)
I liked (and laughed) at the Ray Charles one–and the moire one (had to go to Wiki, thought it referred to litho like lithium as in pysch meds…)
I am UP from my post work nap. I could get an Olympic medal in sleep. We were very busy this morning, but I’m glad I went in. And now for grad school work…
Hello to all newbies. Glad to see McCello here again. Sorry about your Dad-his loss.
rigs, RDO stands for “Regular Day Off”. I have every other Friday off.
I work an alternative work schedule; four 9 hour days and one 8 hour day the first week, and the second week I work four nine hour days. My pay period is two weeks.
Well, I sold some more jewelry - $45 and a ticket to the exhibition game, and a salad for lunch. I am open to barter, and since she was going to pick up her exhibition ticket she’ll get mine too. It’s all good.
Now I need to empty the cat boxes and maybe think about a nap before the Board meeting. I lead such an exciting life!
Snakes here’s what I got out of your post. You sold some jewelry for $45.00, an exhibition game ticket and a lunch salad. Next time I suggest you go for the big bag of M&Ms as well. Who knows you might even work your way up to a plate of bbq ribs.
Ok, chicken pot pie is cookin’ and ol y’all know who shall be here shortly. I’m figurin’ on an early supper, some “appreciation”, then a little nap before work. Oh and tonight’s ensemble is a light blue pocket tshirt and blue jeans.
It’s been a long, boring day. I wish that I would get work to do. I’m leaving at the end of the month, and it’s like I’m already gone. But, we are “so swamped” that my manager wants to get a Temp person in right now. Umm…please let me do some of the work.
