Does anyone else hate this f’n commercial as much as I do?
I believe it’s a commercial for Samsung. Where in a phone is placed on a restaurant table and the lady starts screaming at it because it has a picture of a spider on it?
For fucks sake Samsung! Stop playing that damned commercial. She’s more annoying than Enzyte Bob. A task that I previously thought was impossible.
It’s an AT&T commercial. The phone is a Samsung Infuse 4G I believe.
Yes, it’s stupid and annoying.
I thought it was mildly amusing, myself, in that the older businessman, having crushed the “spider” repeatedly with his shoe, thinks he’s a big hero.
I thought the spider commercial was kind of funny the first eleventy bazillion times I saw it.
One of the YouTube comments points out an editing mistake - a plate that disappears from the table during the cut from 0:14 to 0:18, and I noted another one - a wine glass that suddenly appears in the woman’s hands, but on further examination it’s even stranger because the table never had any wine glasses on it - just the water glasses and the vase. The only wine glasses in the scene are on a cabinet several feet behind the woman, and they’re of a different style.
I like it. I’d like to dropkick the couple from that Chili’s commercial, though, where the boss is all, ‘‘Why should I hire you?’’ and she’s like, ‘‘Cuz I’m your wife, tee hee!’’
I love that ad. Especially at the end, where it’s very clear that the older guy has killed a phone, not a spider, but he gives it one last whack for good measure.
That’ll teach people to put pictures of spiders as their background.

It’s especially annoying when my local cable provider significantly increases the volume on commercials, causing me to scramble wildly for the remote’s volume control.
You think that’s annoying? At least it’s funny and the scream lasts only about 5 seconds. I have to watch this shit for 5 times a day for the last 2 months. Its the commercial for the local Universal Studios theme park with a new 3D King Kong ride. The scream is practically the whole god damn commercial. Its on all the channels and all the shows that I watch. :mad:

That one, the sexist,ageist Time Warner one and the little girl calling Waffles are the top three hate hate hate commercials for me!

That commercial is more than annoying. I hate hate hate screams. However, I am so tired of women being portrayed as brainless twits that I could scream. Our society keeps rewarding those who are good at it (that’s you, Stephenie Meyer) so I guess it’s not going to change soon. Whatever happened to the Women’s Movement anyway? Oh, and get offa my lawn, too. </grumpy old lady>
I was going to start a similar thread. My complaint is with this trend in cell phone adverts that basically say, “Hey, I’m a douche bag. Don’t you want to use this same product so you can be a douche bag, too?”
Currently, the prime offender is Rogers here in Canada. I wish I could find a video of the ad, but in a nutshell, some guy is borrowing his younger nephew’s phone so he can play Bruce Lee’s Dragon Warrior on the new Nokia whatever whatever. The kid asks him if he can have his phone back now, to which the uncle (who is appears to be in his early 20’s) reluctantly hands it back… only to snatch it away just as the kid reaches for it. “Two more games.” He then turns to the nephew’s friend and does some half-assed karate movie noise. Like “Hi-YAY!” but more douche-baggery.
This might be… Verizon? At&T? Also Rogers?- girl breaks up with guy at the restaurant table. “You texted that you’re breaking up with me?” She replies, “It’s okay- I’ve got unlimited text messaging!” Yay. Or not.
I don’t know if the companies realize that it makes me want to NOT buy the product.
I believe “douche-baggery” is the noun. “Douche-baggily” is the adverb.
So noted in my dictionary of douchy terms. 
I agree the scream is annoying, but damn if this commercial isn’t funny as shit. The actors are brilliant - from the gormless spider phone guy, to the overcompensating shoe-hitting daddy figure, to the girl. They say so much in their facial expressions. And the final smack with the shoe seals the deal for me.
As long as it isn’t douche-buggery. :eek:
