The 2005 Canadian-American Candy Exchange

I suppose I could help out another unfortunate American or two.

You can match me up with someone else as well if you do not have enough Canadians to participate. I would be happy to help.

This would be me. Sorry for the delay. Emails have been sent.

Nope, actually, it would be silenus. Your email was in the thread.

Thanks to the generosity of 2 Canadians, 2 new pairs have been formed:

Canadiangirl - Magic Eyes
Dr. Paprika - Survivor

Thanks!

Wow, what a nice surprise… I didn’t think I made it in… It’s so great to hear I get to participate!

You just made my day! (Yeah, it doesn’t take much, what can I say?)

Survivor

Short of a few social reasons, Smarties are really the driving force behind my move to Canada.

 Thanks, Canadiangirl! I’ll send you something extra-special!

My package to Anonymous Coward is In The Mail !

Woo Hoo. Go Me.

I’m feeling kind lucky since the Easter candies are out now and there was lots to choose from.

We (kids and I) didn’t sent any Mexican candies- we went to the local mercado, and everything was old, dusty, or otherwise unappealing looking.

Instead, we sent…

ha ha … tricked ya…not telling!

I know it is a little late… but if you need another Canadian I am willing to participate.

Do you canadians get our type of smarties? The multi-colored ones? What about creme savers?

And what about the “Take5” candy?

I’d like to thank tat2bear for his shipment of sweet, sweet candy. I hope he got mine and it wasn’t eaten by some hungry customs Jabba.

My apologies for not writing sooner… I got all the delicious CHOCOLATE last week… Just getting over the diabetic coma today! :stuck_out_tongue:

My candy package was mailed weeks ago and has not arrived. I’m beginning to suspect some overly zealous border agent with a sweet tooth might have seen it as a threat to national security.

We received our package from Anonymous Coward a few days ago!!

We have enjoyed two “Kinder Eggs” (these were a BIG hit…one had a small car and one had a small figure), a “Big Turk” (which has been my favorite so far), and still have many others to choose from including three different flavors of “Kit-Kat” bars (who knew they came in flavors?), some “Charleston Chews” in two flavors, a “Coffee Crisp”, an “O’Henry” (maple), a “Crispy Crunch”, an “Eat-More” (the name cracks me up for some reason), and of course, the famous “Smarties”.

This was a very fun exchange and I want to thank Anonymous Coward for partnering with me. We (myself and two kids) are parsing out our candies at the rate of one a day and dividing it into somewhat equal shares. The kids are treating it like tasty gold!

I also got a nice letter (which I didn’t think to add in our package) and a fabulous special Canadian quarter with a red poppy on it.

Very nice!
