Even funnier: he praises the first fight as the best that lolAeschines has been complaining was the worst. lol.
I think it was just to create a symbolic contrast. It showed that Natasha’s background not only taught her how to cause deaths, it also made it impossible for her to create life.
I don’t think it was quite that far. He phrasing was something like “The doctor was…efficient.” I’m guessing that the procedure was short, nasty, and brutish. The memories of it are probably awful and half suppressed, hence her reaction.
Oh, you just had to go there, didn’t you?
And which two characters had their roles expanded in this movie?
Hawkeye and Natasha.
Think about it.
Now stop thinking about it. It’s ridiculous.
This could be your theater being frugal. The bulbs on projectors are expensive and theater will use half power to make them last longer which makes the movie appear darker. Roger Ebert used to talk about that a lot in his writing.
Maybe he thinks that some people who, as far as he knows, were kidnapped by Hydra and used as living weapons, deserve a chance at redemption? Like the chance he gave to Black Widow, for instance.
or Cap gave Bucky, or Black Widow gave him, or Thor gave Loki… Really, they’re all about the redemption in these movies. Tony Stark giving up ironmongering, Hulk hulk everything…
So the gauntlet that Thanos has during the mid credits scene is not the same one in the Asgardian vault. One was the right hand and the other the left. I wonder if that means something or if it was just an oversight.
It means something. What would happen if each gauntlet only had half the stones? How would they interact with each other?
It means Marvel Studios had no idea how successful their movies would wind up being and didn’t even know they’d be doing an Infinity Wars plot until well after Thor was filmed. They put the original gauntlet in there as an Easter Egg for fans.
I think that was just carelessness in getting overexcited about planting Easter eggs for the fan boys. The momentary satisfaction of getting a handful of people to squee “Oooh! I saw the Infinity Gauntlet!” now screws with the longterm storytelling. Nothing leaves Asgaard’s weapons vault without going noticed. The Gauntlet in the vault in the first Thor movie is going to have to be retconned as “Ummm, not the Infinity Gauntlet, that was the, ummm, Pi Holder! Yeah, that’s the ticket!”
If they were still making the One-Shot short films as extras on the Bluray releases, they could explain it away the way they explained away Tony Stark’s otherwise inexplicable cameo in The Incredible Hulk and the way they doubled back on their Mandarin fake-out from Iron Man 3, “Don’t worry, kids, the real Mandarin is still out there somewhere!”
The screenshots I’ve seen weren’t clear enough to tell which gauntlet Odin had locked up. I’m comfortable assuming the one in the vault is the same one Thanos has.
Heck, Bruce Banner’s physical appearance changed completely between the events in his movie and Avengers. :dubious:
There’s a strong part of me that thinks that this was, literally, all planned in this much detail from the beginning and that the second half of these quotes isn’t right…but I believe that this is actually the case since Thor was the SECOND of these movies made.
IIRC Fiege has come out and said “oh no, the gauntlet in Odins vault is still there, and that question will be answered in future movies.”
So either he’s really good at fanwanking, or maybe there WAS a plan
Huh. Were there two gauntlets in the comics?
No. Only the left one.
yes and no. It was Thanos’ own glove that he mounted the gems on. He did have another one but it was just a regular glove.
Given that the one in Odin’s vault appeared to already have all 6 gems in it (when we know that couldn’t possibly be the case) I’m inclined to believe that it is a replica being stored there for reasons unknown.
Interesting. The head scratching Thor/ Pool of water scene was inserted due to Studio demand.
The prop gauntlet Marvel had on display at the 2010 Comic-Con was the right one, with gems. This appears to be the one glimpsed in Thor.
