The American Thanksgiving MMP

Blurt Up, dog walked, suitcase semi packed. No motivation at all.

My sister where I will spend the first two days is an awesome cook so I know we shall not go hungry. I requested collards. She said Ok. She will also have all the usuals including the cornbread dressing and chick and dumplings.

Just dread that Atl Traffic. Tis crazy up there.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I will take my IPad so I shall be keeping up with all youse.

Doggggiooo In Key Weird there is laundromat/ restaurant combo.

Nada much here. We try to live low stress.

75 & sunny on the way to 80 and sunny. No breeze for once. Coffee’s on board and breakfast is next. I did buy a new pot yesterday, so no cowboy coffee for us today. While out yesterday saw the gathering signs of the retail frenzy that will begin in earnest on Friday. Glad I’m not part of it.

Major project of the day is to bake savory pumpkin custards for tomorrow’s desert. Basically pumpkin pie in individual ramekins without a crust, without sweeteners, and with tangier spicing to make up the difference.

21 degrees this morning, but sunny. I actually enjoy this weather. Crazy me. Irking today and I have a feeling it will be quiet, except my boss will be around to hand over the yearly bonus. I don’t care about the amount, as long as it’s enough for cookies for me and Ariel. She gets special horsey cookies. Thanksgiving Eve, while not a traditional holiday, is one of my favorite evenings. A quiet night, watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Eating popcorn, knowing I don’t have to get up tomorrow at 5:30. I’ll probably nod off at 8:30pm…

Flyboy. I believe that is LSLGuy nick. Where are you in South Florida. I live on Big Pine Key. Work on Key West.

Not a fan of nicknames but that was what somebody here decreed, so as a newbie I guess I’ll live with it.

I live in Broward county near the beach. So “Fort Lauderdale” for the folks from out of state.

Or, as Travis McGee called it, “Fort Lauderdamndale”.

Collards are cooked, dressin’ is made up, sweet N.O.T. side dish is ready for bakeage tomorrow, and sweet N.O.T. pie is baked and coolin’ as I post. WHEW! Now chillage ensues. I am munchin’ on popcorn and sippin’ on diet Poopsi. All is good. Oh and the kitchen is all cleanded up.

I like the pumpkin custard ramekins, flyboy. I shall steal that. We are having a small Thanksgiving this time, and everyone would like something different. This will make it easier.

'Beamer is home again with the lung crud. 'Beamette is off to school for her last day before the long weekend.

Today I get some shopping done and continue my epic laundry fest. Whee!

Up and enjoying the OWs week off by going out for breakfast. Went shopping for some supplies to fix a really old plastic double-bucket. Ours has a heavy handle between the two sides and a lighter flip-handle over the whole thing — they don’t make them like that any more. So it gives me a fun project to find a way to reinforce and repair the heavy handle which is starting to crack. Should be a fun hour or three pointlessly used.

I made a country ham and cheese omelet for brunch ,did a load of towels ,and walked Gordie. Gotta make a beer run, and get some gas before game time.

Sunny, home Beemer feels better.

swampy, hope the rash clears up. Prednisone makes me jittery and antisocial. Essentially I turn into Flytrap.:eek::eek::confused:

After I dragged myself home from work, we went to Waldork for lunch (Famous Dave’s) then to Babies-R-Us to look at cribs and stuff. Shortly after we got home, daughter and SIL left for his mom’s house, **FCD **crawled in to bed, and I’m thinking about plopping down in front of TV.

Good times, good times…

Evenin’ all.

Somewhat silly evening today; irking as a ‘student ambassador’, today we were at a different branch of the college, which teaches 16-18 year olds, as part of an ‘encourage kids to go to University’ event, for kids who the college thinks would benefit from it, but who aren’t currently sure if they want to go. There was free food, and a couple of info stalls with stuff from the local universities and similar. 17 families had said they were coming, as in they’d replied to the invite, then confirmed a day or so ago by phone.

Guess how many showed?

One. One kid, two parents.

So I got free food, and takeaway boxes full for tomorrow. So did the cleaners, the security guy, and anyone else passing.
The weather was awful, windy enough that some roads in the county are closed, but these were all very local families…

It appears Cozmo’s favorite spot is next to me on the recliner. At one point, I had him and Taz keeping me company. Can’t wait till we have 3 more cats in the house… :stuck_out_tongue:

I just ate an apple. It was crunchy. I’m still hungry…

After taking the scenic route through Ettlanta I am at Sisters house. She lives in the boonies in Silver Creek, Jawja up near Rome. On the flight the kid in the seat in front of mine was air sick to the point of making a huge mess. Not very pleasant for me and even less pleasant for the flight attendants who had to clean it up. But the plane did not crash so there’s that.

I have a Nissan Versa Note. Cute little car but a tad smallish. This from a Toyota Corolla driver.

I have no cell service out here. None. Apparently there is no AT&T service here at all. Probably the only place in the world.

Happy Thanksgiving All.

Butters I can confirm that many places in Orygun also lack AT&T. I would think that Atlanta was somewhat more interesting to AT&T than rural ol’ us.

Did some grocery shopping, and have used up the spoons. I will sit here and computer for a while.

Howdy Y’all! We et Mexican comestibles and have been chillin’. I just took the night time meds and will shortly turn in cause I’s tahrd and one of the meds makes me drowsy which is why it gets taken at night, duh!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Toss the rug rat out the door. :dubious:

One can find no fault with your Nocturnal Logic.

A fine Indian meal across the street, some pre-recorded NFL on the telly, some good reading, and so to bed. Yawn. For tomorrow is a busy-ish day.

The biggest!

Up, sheveled, off to irk. [del]Happy day, Turkeys![/del] Ummm, happy Turkey Day (though the first one applies to some of you. :o)
