I called Olympus this morning to ask about the power. I said that the batteries die when the camera is just sitting in the case. I asked if this is because the light meter is on, and how do I turn it off so the batteries don’t die. Well… First, he didn’t know what an OM-4 is. Then he couldn’t find the answer to my question and put me on hold so he could ask. When he came back he said, 'So the problem is the red light is on on top of the camera, but the batteries are dead? :smack: I didn’t say anything about any lights being on – certainly no colour was mentioned. I explained it to him again and then told him I’d find an online community that knows about film cameras.
It’s been a couple of nutsy days at work yesterday and today, and I don’t see it dying down anytime soon. Ugh.
The tooth is still a bit achy, but compared to the pain I was in earlier this week, it’s better. They said it might take a few days to a week to get feeling normal.
Tomorrow starts the bathtub repair. The plumber is coming in to redo the plumbing tomorrow while I work from home and the handyman comes on Saturday to remove the rest of the old surround and install the new surround. I’m so looking forward to it.
I shall plant a lawn just so’s I can tell him to get off it.
I keep meaning to have another play with my old OM-2. Every time I use it, old guys appear out of nowhere and get excited about it.
We had 8 people show up to class today. I was close.
Now I get a few weeks break. Aside from the car stuff. And the paid job. Oh, and the two coursework deadlines the day I get back.
That happens whenever I drive my MGB. One time I parked in the first spot next to the doors at Rite-Aid. Three guys came up to talk to me before I could make it inside.
I just had a makeshift lunch (leftovers) and now I’m being interrogated by a small dog who is convinced that I have some more food hidden about my person. :dubious:
Wifey has a couple of big fancy digital cameras she uses to take pictures of houses (she’s a real estate broker) and scenes she wants to paint. (she’s also an artist). I have her old digital camera that I use to take pictures of stuffs I want to post on the innerwebz. ![]()
Other than that , we’ve got an old Polaroid instant camera somewhere, and I’ve got an old film camera that says ‘Continette’ and ‘Zeiss IKON’ on the body and ‘Zeiss’ on the lens. Did Zeiss used to make camera bodies? It hasn’t seen use in probably 30 years, but I used to be pretty good with it, so I keep it out of nostalgia. (or senility), who knows?
The only people who ever got excited when I drove my MGB were my mechanics.
Different times I suppose.
I got my car back!!!
The adjuster got things changed by 8:30, I headed down to the body shop, paid $200, dropped the rental keys and made it to irk by 10:30. When I got home, I loaded up Nelson and took him to the dog park where he wore himself out with a white poodle, ironically named Blackie, a chihuahua mix puppy and a small terrier/chihuahua mix about his size and energy level. We all left with worn out puppers.
I’ll likely put in six hours tomorrow and if it’s nice Saturday (TWPTB are calling for cloudy in the seventies), I may go out on the bike.
Forgot to mention that I got all caught up at work, so I’m off till Tuesday. YAY!!!
FCM, Great news, 4-day weekends are the best.
Red, Good news on the car.
Juliet, keep track on the calendar, if a week passes and it’s still not right, march back down there and tell them to make it right…don’t let the b****** wear you down, get what you need. Then write them up and never see them again.
Spent nearly two hours in a soccer meeting, our Commissioner is a good guy, but has no idea how to run a meeting, so very little ever gets done–it gets pushed to another month or we decide something on-line. At least it’s done until May.
No soccer tonight due to rain–no tunder-boomers, just a steady more-than-drizzle-but-less than-showers wetness. We’ll have to see what tomorrow brings.
Ate early so may go snack-hunting here in a second.
All y’all take care.
Not just laugh, point & laugh. :o
Each brand of camera? Sometimes they vary between models of a given brand.
I really wish I could afford to standardize all of my bodies; however, there are some lenses (& a P1000) to get first before any new bodies. Besides the special sale ended on the body that I want. ![]()
I couldn’t brain/time last night; set my alarm wrong. :smack: Left the house at dark:30, drove just over a mile, looked at the clock on the dash; ummm, I don’t think I can make it there. Pulled over, checked times. I should have left at 30:dark. :smack:
Went with Plan B, but ‘police activity’ was causing busing & delays. Didn’t see an outbound train for 20 mins…& I chose this over an even closer location. :smack:
Yup, I couldn’t seem to get on track this moaning. ![]()
A hella great tailgate, and the Canes make the playoffs 10 years to the day they last did. Not a bad day off.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug a bed.
‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark) with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon and evenin’. TWPTB now say this will continue all night and tomorrow (planned irk day at the church house) will be an eighty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse. So, that might not happen. I picked this particular day because it was the only Sattidy durin’ Lent there will be no mornin’ activity at the church, so of course, it would rain. Le Sigh. If we do we do if we don’t we don’t I reckon. We shall sup on shrimpies 'n grits with vegetative matter TBD.
Red yay for gettin’ the wheelz back and yay for Nelson gettin’ to have doggie play time!
Doggio a great tailgate and no plea for bail money. You calmin’ down in your old age?
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Roxy woke in the wee small hours, and I hardly slept since then. So I’m breakfasting and getting ready to start my day. The guys are here to pour the shop floor which means we’ll have to keep the dogs in all day. Or walk them out front. Great fun, huh?
I need to make a grocery run and I’m sure there are chores to do. Oh, yeah, and it’s a rainy day, so overcast and gloomy. Such is life…
Happy Firday!
Happy Firday!
It’s a rainy 45 degrees outside.
Poor Ripple, we haven’t been to the park since Moonday, and today isn’t looking good either.
He got a good run at my mother’s though, he darted out the front door and we had a nice chase through the neighborhood.
Dr visit went well. I said you aren’t going to fire me too are you? He said no, he likes patients like me, and his receptionist actually pulled up my insurance, found a doctor in my area who accepts my insurance, and printed out a packet for me with all the information and the new patient forms. Very helpful, unlike the doctor’s office who fired me. One receptionist suggested the doctor down the hall, and another said he wasn’t taking new patients, but there was another doctor over on abc street, but she didn’t know if he was taking new patients. They were so helpful
Calling the new doctor is on the agenda for today, along with paying some bills, and working on taxes, and a few other things. Since we won’t be working outside today, I will be doing inside stuff.
The tilling is mostly done. I wish I had bought a bigger tiller, it would be done. Then again, I do have a small yard and once this area is done there won’t be much else to do.
Up and getting ready to go get my reservation for the weekend. I will get home from irk around 10pm and then get up at 05:00 in the AM. Last time I got up that early five shots were fired and four animals ended up entrees. Lets hope I don’t get confused this weekend.
(We are dead-damn-serious about thinning things down. And those who know how much I hate getting up before 7am will admit this is really extreme for me.)
The floor in the shop is almost all poured - they were a little short, and the last truck just showed up. I guess they’ll be done within an hour.
I ran to Food Lion and the dollar store - where they don’t sell egg slicers, of all things! But I got some stuff to clean the dog pee stains on the carpet (from daughter’s dog) and after I vacuum-packed some chickie tits for the freezer, I scrubbed a couple of areas. When they have a chance to sit, I’ll vacuum, then get out the carpet cleaner and do half the room. Once it’s dry, I’ll move the furniture and do the other half.
Do I know how to spend my day off or what???

FCM, Day off of what? Sure, you’re not at your desk, but damn, you’re working.
The plumber is working hard on redoing the plumbing. Of course, about 20 minutes after he shuts off the water, I have to pee. I think he’s getting close to being doing. We’ll see how long I can go without going…
I still have a ton of work to do, but at least working from home allows me to do it in my leggings and sweatshirt. And to get kisses from Romeo Jr. before he goes off to day care. And see some sunlight when it peeks out from the clouds. And I can watch a half hour of TV on my lunch break, curled up on my couch.
Nah, just wizened up just enough to run &/or blame someone else. :o
Piker! Yestidy, tomorrer, & Sunday will all be up before 5am for me; three different reasons/activities, too.
Juliet, don’t forget there’s water in the tank; you can flush each terlet once. You could also refill the tank with bottled water iffn you need to go again.
That’s it exactly! Thanks Johnny.
It was and prolly still is, a great little camera and gave me much pleasure in it’s day.
More likely he’s finally figured out that this lot ain’t got any money, so why bother?
There should be enough water in the tank for one flush. It just won’t refill until the water is back on.
Art Walk is tonight, tho it’ll be a wet one. I’m gonna go sell some of my soap at my friend’s store so I have to make myself presentable.
In other news, those damned ants are back in the kitchen. I need to figure out some way to kill 'em that won’t endanger the pups.
Dam! ninja’d. I’m not re-writing tho, or I’ll never get done.
