I feel asleep on the couch last night, around 8, woke up before midnight, so when I went up to bed I couldn’t get back to sleep.
I’ve been lucky with Ripple, he doesn’t seem to mind any weather too much, and no matter how muddy it is, he comes in with clean feet.
Something is leaking under the kitchen sink, I’m going to have to pull everything out to investigate. There’s no puddle, but the box of borax is wet. Something told me to put the borax in a plastic container.
Catching up on laundry today. I doubt I’ll catch up today, will probably take two days to get it all done.
When I used the hair dryer trick, the ice maker loosened enough to eject the ice that was in it. I haven’t heard it refill yet, but it could be because it’s not up to temperature yet. If it’s not making ice tomorrow, I’ll call a tech. I saw some videos about how to troubleshoot the control valve, but it would require me to disassemble the back of the fridge, and I’m not that brave. So I just cleaned the floor behind it, refilled the freezer, and turned it back on. We shall see.
Morning all. Rescued the Sunday paper between rain showers (more is coming) and added to my list of stuff to shop for. Now have 41 girls and 80 boys signed up for the divisions I’m coordinating, all I have to do in the next two weeks is evaluate and divide them up into teams, while recruiting coaches. Oh joy.
It’s raining again in middle Tennessee. The ground is saturated enough that puddles are back and, likely, some things are underwater again. I’m glad I took Nelson to the dog park yesterday.
Today is the usual Sunday chores. Paella and roasted green beans for supper.
We have a lot of snow on the ground, but it is very dry, no ice on the car windshields. A little was still coming down at 8:00AM but now it is sunny outside. Go figure. I am so tired of the cold this winter. When I was younger I could handle it better but now I am just miserable.
When it was snowing the last week or so I put the old plastic patio table on the lawn just off the patio for the pups to get under and do their bidness. They ignored it, except to pee on the legs. :dubious: They love coming into the house dripping wet. That’s why we keep a couple of old towels on the floor in the back room to wipe them down with.
Today is Wifey’s Birthday. For the next 3 months she’s older’n me.
Garlic Taters and eggs, with bacon sides, for brekkies today.
When I was at the dented food store the other day I found a big bag of frozen mango bits. We kept buying fresh mangos to make mango curry and they’d always go bad before we’d use them, so I was excited. Anyway, I had everything out to have a go at it yesterday when Wifey texted me to not make dinner, she was bringing it. It was Mango Curry. So now I’ve got the fixins in the fridge and have to think of something else.
I know what you mean Cupcakes. We used to laugh (quietly, behind our hands) at the snowbirds who went to Arizona every winter. Now we’re thinking that a nice little condo down in the desert might be nice.
N. Ali-bama is 40F and rainy…so of course it was the perfect time to go out to eat and then do some shopping…sometimes I wonder for my sanity.
Still, new watch, slippers, pillows and blankets now reside in my house and a chopped steak with gravy and french fries resides in my stomach, so at least I accomplished something for being miserable.
Now some resting and internettin’ will take place (oops, forgot I have to go out at 3Pm to pick up some soccer equipment for the practicing).
Sunday morning about 11am. Our cold snap persists. I find it refreshingly brisk, although many folks are expressing extreme discomfort at the 60s temperatures at night. Just now poked above 70 degrees, and a warming trend is expected this week, so the nightmare may be over.
CoasterBash yesterday was fun; I ate too much. We had corned beef and cabbage for dinner today; I ate too much. May just go into a food coma until tomorrow.
Howdy Y’all! I was over at the church house from nine-thirty this mornin’ until two p.m. OYKW is glad he took me up on the suggestion we take separate vehicles as he bugged out right after brunch. We have a group of students from Wittenburg University stayin’ in the Parish Hall this week. They are on Spring break and doin’ their annual project with The Fuller Center. We have hosted 'em for the past several years. This year eight students are here. I stayed there to welcome them and help ‘em get settled in. ‘Tis been a rainy, dreary afternoon so been glad to be in da cave. The rain was thoughtful enough to wait until I got back to da cave to start. Seriously, I pulled in the garage and the rain started just as I did. Still rainy/stormy out so I shall wait until mornin’ to haul the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Also, a cool front is movin’ in that shall drop tonight’s low to 42 Amurrkin. BRRR!
Alumni Game was fun, and my Cawlidge Hawkey team won, and is going to the National championship for the first time. But since hockey is over for the weekend, and it is starting to rain, and is Monday Eve, I have a blurf.
Sunny, weather is not too bad (bad is when the tornado siren starts, and that won’t be for awhile yet). Just not too good. Good Blurf Weather.
Soccer equipment pickup and Monday and Tuesday practices have been cancelled due to the wet and cold (under 40F next 2 days). Dinner has been consumed. Nappage completed. Life is good.
Swampy, good on those kids, albeit many may be looking wistfully at what other kids are doing for Spring Break…
All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
