What, no one’s mentioned “Strokin’” by Clarence Carter? Kind of a vulgar song, but I have heard it in strip clubs before, (plus it has a slow tempo, very easy to strip to.)
Can I put in a plug for Everybody knows? Both the original, and the cover by Concrete Blonde are extremely sexy.
Uhh, it’s on the list, dude. Close to the bottom, but CreaseMonkey suggested it, so I put it on there.
I’m absolutely shocked no one’s mentioned Her Strut by Bob Segar.
I used to hang out with a dancer from one of the clubs in town. She was a dance and music major in college, and had great taste in music overall. I once asked her what song she liked dancing to most.
Feeling Love, by Paula Cole.
She’d have the DJ put it on in the afternoon, (it’s slower than most club fare) and go to town. I saw her once; impressive show. So, if you’re looking for something she’ll like dancing to, that might turn her on, give it a shot.
Sample lyrics:
You make me feel like a candy apple all red and horny
You make me feel like I want to be dumb blonde
In a centerfold, the girl next door.
And I would open the door and I’d be all wet
With my tits soaking through this tiny little t-shirt
That I’m wearing and you would open the door
And tie me up to the bed.
Insanely sensual.
If I were you, I wouldn’t ask your lady friend to use “Closer”. She might not have a problem with it, but I think plenty of women (like me) would.
To add another Bowie song to the list, I suggest “Suffragette City”.
Definitely some good songs here.
I particularily like the Paula Cole song. Nice call.
A couple that haven’t been mentioned yet-
Slower ‘slinky’ kind of songs:
Fiona Apple - Shadowboxer
Garbage - Crush (Kinda creepy, dominant, tune)
Faster ‘slapping’ songs:
Monifa - Touch It
NIN - F*ck You Like An Animal (Probably mentioned, but needs another nod)
I’ll get some others later today.
FYI: Randy Newman wrote “You Can Leave Your Hat On.” Joe Cocker’s version is no more the original than te Tom Jones version.
Check out the original - it’s flavor is much less ‘sensational’ and more ‘seedy.’
