It is part of Fox’s Animation Domination block and it is absolutely hilarious. The animation style is a bit…off, which I know can bug some people, but I think the writing is top notch and the voice acting is wonderfully hilarious!
I love it, but I also tend to love most shows Loren Bouchard puts out, which is why the animation doesn’t phase me as much. I’m just happy it’s not Squiggle-vision. Bob’s Burgers is the best show on that block, imo.
I don’t think I’ve seen every episode, but I watch it from time to time. Some are pretty funny, some are less so. I liked some bits of the hostage one from two weeks ago (Robot College!), but I wasn’t that impressed by the synchronized swimming one from last week.
Bob’s Burgers is genius. As was said above, it’s by far the best thing on the whole Animation Domination schedule. H Jon Benjamin is a superior vocal talent, and Kristen Schaal’s really good, too, but I think the whole cast just constantly brings their A game every single episode.
I think it’s a brilliant notion. Who ever thought that an animated show about a not-very-bright working stiff guy in a dead-end job with three loser kids and a wife with a screechy voice could ever possibly become a hit? Yes, Bob’s Burgers definitely fills a yawning chasm in Fox’s Sunday night line-up.
not sure how snarky this is supposed to be… but it brings up a good point. How is every animated show that features a family automatically a copy of The Simpsons, or of Family Guy? Wow, they both have a family, and are animated. That’s it. How many live action shows feature a family? Are they all clones of eachother? well, a lot are, but they aren’t by definition because they’re live-action and feature a family.
When it really comes down to writing a good script for a show/sitcom or whatever, does it really matter if it’s animated or not?? I see the success of Greg Daniels, moving from writing The Simpsons & producing King Of The Hill, then smoothly moving to The Office - as a pretty fair illustration of this. King of The Hill could easily have been done with live action actors. Same with Bob’s Burgers.
