The best TV show ever out on DVD

Murder One – inarguably ( ) the best TV show ever – is about to be released on DVD.

I don’t have a DVD player, but I’m adding it to my wish list.

Nuh uh.

It’s…

Monty Python’s Flying Cir-CUSS!

<large foot comes down and whoopee-cushions Doug>

Ahem.

By inarguably, I meant inarguably.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, obviously.

Hoshi won’t like that, Aes.

When Moonlighting finally gets here. The first three seasons should bring back some fond memories.

Hmmmm. This is kinda like asking “what is the best album ever released on CD?,” but anyway…

Comedy: Fawlty Towers, The Office
Drama: The Sopranos
Specials: HBO’s Band of Brothers, John le Carre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley’s People

People, we’re losing track of the point here.

Murder One is coming out on DVD.

Stanley Tucci, Daniel Benzali, Patricia Clarkson, Jason Gedrick.

Brilliant writing. Brilliant acting.

The Best TV Show Ever.

Murder One is indeed a great show. I doubt that Anthony LaPaglia would have been offered Without a Trace if it had not been for his performance in Murder One.

But, IMHO, the greatest TV show to have been released on DVD so far is The Best of Ernie Kovacs.

I just checked with the board and it’s actually HBO’s Oz. Sorry guys.

I bet Murder One will be good on DVD. Over the course of the season I completely lost interest and stopped watching (this was in the days before TiVo, of course). It’d probably be easiler to keep track of everything over the course of a weekend. But I do remember that I loved the acting, especially Benzali and Tucci.

I also watched the first two or three episodes of the season with Anthony LaPaglia and D.B. Woodside. I think that was S2.

P.S. Whatever happened to Bobbie Phillips? It looked live she might be a breakout star there for a while.

Aw, man, why’d you have to go there? Hoshi’s my one and only but I can’t just forget Sisko and the rest of my friends and family like that.

She’ll understand. I hope.

Sport’s Night. Great writing, excellent chemistry within the cast, and Sabrina Lloyd.
How can you argue with that combination.

Personally, I am waiting for Cop Rock. I missed it the first time around.

I want to see “Cop Rock,” too.

Failed shows sometimes never make it to DVD, but occasionally one breaks through. “Wonderfalls” is out on DVD already.

I’d give a lot for a DVD set of “Captain Nice.” I was one of a handful of viewers, and I’ve maintained an odd fondness for this flop across the decades.

Firefly.

Well, actually there’s a lot of damned good competition. The Simpsons, Futurama, Band of Brothers, etc. But I haven’t mentioned Firefly in a thread for almost a month, and I’m in danger of losing my fanatic’s card.

All these posts and no one has mentioned Blackadder or Red Dwarf.

Y’all really should watch better TV.

What sort of Best Show on TV has its lead fired at the end of the season, causing the second season to fail?

I hereby nominate HBO’s From the Earth to the Moon.

Sorry to end the discussion so soon, but the correct answer is “The Office”.

Yes, it is and I just bought it. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, though. Maybe a couple episodes today while I fold a mountain of laundry. Yay!
I don’t remember Murder One at all, and the description sounds quite intriguing. How did I miss it?
I think I’ll add that to my list.
