When Howard and Bernadette decide they want to be married before his NASA launch, the gang rushes to put on a wedding.
Good grief—these are GEEKS we’re talking about here. Have them get married while Howard is in space, with Howard being represented by a virtual device. He can even kiss the bride from orbit—they’ve already demonstrated that. I mean, how cool would that be? And they’d make national news, too.
Nitpick- this would be a Russian launch, not NASA. Anyway, I’m hoping this is the day that the Sheldon/Amy cherry gets broken and Penny proposes to Leonard.
that was so so i can’t find the words. the whole show would have been better in Klingon.
Sheldon’s obnoxiousness almost ruined an otherwise adorable episode!
I loved the final scene (and the card). Very sweet.
For those of you (like me) missed teh card, it is here:

The final scene was sweet, but overall a disappointing finale. Sheldon was a bit over the top, but I do find it amusing when he uses “coitus” for what we might call porking. The guys in the spaceship looked like Buzz Lightyear and the whole launch dialogue seemed a bit hokey. Penny didn’t seem to have enough to do and it looked like she phoned it in. Raj seemed to be able to talk in front of females without the obligatory alcohol visible in the scene, unless I missed it.
One wonders how many people looked at the Pasdena area on Google Earth searching for the heart on the rooftop.
The last scene was sweet. AFF getting all ticked about not getting to fulfill her MOH duties was funny.
Getting married on the rooftop when the Google Earth satellite was overhead was brilliant. All five of them getting ordained to perform the wedding was over the top and stupid.
Leonard and Penny using Howard’s wedding as a platform to indirectly take shots at each other was out of character.
Bernadette’s mother was MIA, so I guess she is dead…
No, she was there, though maybe it was her stepmother. Hubby grabbed his laptop and wanted to check out Google Earth images to see if this was an actual satellite photo of Pasadena (sort of–it was an actual satellite image with a nonexistent neighborhood edited in). As the camera pans out, you see Bernadette’s father sitting with a woman toward the bottom edge of the screen. Howard’s mother, wearing all bright pink, was seated against a wall in the center of the roof, to the right of the screen.
Arrgh - DVR switched over to 30 Rock during the final scene when they were watching the launch - can someone summarize?
I thought it was odd that Sheldon reached for Amy’s hand. Seems like it should have been the other way around, with her flashing the “I’m gonna boink him sooner or later” grin.
can’t watch episode - so are Leonard and Penny on the outs again?
I liked it. It shows that even Sheldon is moved by space flight. Underneath that totally obnoxious exterior, Sheldon wishes it was him going up.
eta: whb: Define “outs.” They’re still boinking, but there is residual tension from Leonard proposing during the last said boink.
I didn’t think they’d go through with launching Howard. I figured that they would work out a way for him to back out at the last minute.
Does anyone have a screenshot of this?
Now the question is: How long do they leave him up there? They could have him back on earth at the start of next season, like they did when they went to the magnetic North Pole. Or they could have him get stuck up there for a few episodes and play out the Raj/Bernadette angle for a bit.
The bigger question is: When is this show going to be available on Netflix.
It’s already available on CBS.com.
