It wasn’t visible in the wedding scene but they were drinking something when they were getting ready in the apartment before the wedding when Howard gave them their groomsmen gifts of the comic books and Sheldon went into that whole bit about the prices not matching.
I thought the ep was a lot of fun. Loved AFF’s expression when Sheldon took her hand.
We know Bernadette has (had) siblings - odd that they weren’t there (or course, they did say the wedding was “just friends”, and I suppose they have to draw the line somewhere)

What’s that thing on top of Howard’s head? He looks like a Princess Peach from Mario Kart.
I think Amy insisted his yarmulke match her bridesmaid dress.
I thought that was quite uncharacteristic of Sheldon!
and shouldn’t AFF have been holding Bernie and Sheldon’s hands?
If my wedding had been like that, some friendships would have ended permanently. Arguing right in the middle of the ceremony?
Plus Howard’s vows do not contain any vows.
Why did they put on suits and dresses for the one on the roof but not the one at the town hall? The latter seemed a bit lazy to me - only takes a few minutes to at least throw a suit on.
Meh. Sitcom weddings are sitcom weddings I guess. They always seem trivial, casual and meaningless to me.
Both Leonard and Penny have long been known to not know when to shut up.
The town hall idea was spur-of-the-moment on a Friday. They had two days to prepare for the rooftop.
Just as they should be! (Says the guy who got married in Reno, after waiting in in a lobby with other weddings waiting to go, only invited two people (though three showed up!), went to a casino buffet for our “reception,” then drove home because we had to work the next day.)
+1
As long as the wedding means something to the two getting married, everything else is tertiary at best.
-silenus, who got married in Vegas at the drive-up window, while wearing a Hawaiian shirt, to the sexiest woman on the planet
I guess. It doesn’t matter what I think if course. Personally, I have trouble believing marriage means much to people if they can’t be arsed to make a bit of effort; but I realise my opinion on someone else’s marriage is irrelevant to them.
I dunno. If I’d got married on the roof by my friends who grabbed qualifications off the internet the day before and argued throughout, or they’d not even bothered to change their clothes, I’d personally feel it was devalued. But that’s just me.
And yep, I know we’re talking about a sitcom!
Plus I still think the vows should include actual vows! Aren’t the vows the whole point?
I think “From now on, she’s the only woman who’s allowed to yell at me, ma!” is a pretty sweet vow.
Oh, I put plenty of work into being married. I just didn’t put any work into getting married (and as far as I’m concerned we were married years before we bothered getting around to asking the government for permission).
As for the episode, I haven’t seen it yet so I’m hoping the countdown to rocket launch as stopped at 4 seconds with an announcement by Mission Control that the launch was scrubbed because it was suddenly realized to be the one of the stupidest story arcs in live action sitcom history (I’m ok with it on Archer because it is Archer).
Good episode. I to was NOT a fan of all five friends getting ordained. And that last bit where all of them started chanting at the same time? Jebus! I literally cringed. Horrible gaff on the writers part.
That was the point!
It wouldn’t have been a big deal if AFF took Sheldon’s hand or if it had been characteristic of Sheldon the entire point of that scene was that Sheldon was the one who did it. It was a season finale tease.
Because they were going to be on Google Earth.
Of course, Google Earth doesn’t quite work that way. Though Google Maps Street View does.
I was surprised Mr. and Mrs. Koothrappali weren’t on a chair somewhere.
Heh.
