The Big Bang Theory, April 24, 2014 -- "The Anything Can Happen Recurrence"

I’m sure a lot of people heard Leonard say, “Anything can happen.” and mentally added, “and it usually does!”

I’m sort of surprised by this and the other comments. A running theme on the show has been the brainy chicks being somewhat diabolical. Bernadette regularly implies she’s engaged in unethical experiments on humans and Amy’s research is all about killing monkeys in different ways. Beverly Hoffsteder’s treatment of/research on Leonard has always be shown as abusive. Emily will fit right in.

Has anyone else noticed that the scenes seem to be getting shorter, and there’s a lot less bantering dialogue nowadays? They don’t do an awful lot to set up the jokes anymore either. :frowning:

True. I consider Beverly conceived, birthed, and raised Leonard as a test subject, not a son. And don’t forget Penny seems quite aware that she can dress a certain way and not have to pay for drinks or meals.

Well, yeah. In this episode alone…

Sheldon: “Have you EVER paid for a meal?”
Penny: “Not with money.”

Per Wikipedia Wednesday was Anything Can Happen Day, which matches my memory -but TBBT had their ACHD on Thursday (which I noticed during the episode as a slight annoyance)

And a SD cite What were the daily themes on the old Mickey Mouse show? - The Straight Dope

I thought so! Almost pointed it out, feared I would be proven wrong.

Well, I’m 31 and I’m mostly thinking “Why should I care who or what a Mouseketeer is?”

Season 4 Episode 2
“The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification”

*Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?

Penny: I’m cute. I get by.
