"The Big Bang Theory" Moves To Thursdays

Probably not a good idea to admit this.

Thursday is my boardgame night, so I record any shows I want to see.
Right now that is only Fringe (and sometimes Bones)
I’m also gone Monday nights and currently record BBT (and How I Met your Mother)

I can only record one channel (long story), so if Fringe is still on I’ll have to either upgrade my DVR or choose between shows

Brian

How? I’ve never been able to find it online. . .

ETA: If it’s sketchy, I don’t want to know.

I’m curious about this one:

Have you seen the Twitter feed? It’s hilarious.

How are we supposed to pronounce that? Like, if the show is up for an Emmy, and Jane Krakowski and Dennis Leary are up on stage reading the list of nominees, what exactly are they supposed to say?

Lousy computer, no DVR, work Thursday nights. Too bad, I liked this show.

I’m heading over to the CBS upfront presentaion in a little bit. I think it starts at 3 CST (I’m at the Chicago live-feed viewing party, not the actual upfront in NYC.) I’ll get to see clips of all of the new shows and I’ll be sure to post my thoughts.

CBS is the last upfront of the week. Had NBC and Fox both on Monday and ABC yesterday. Nobody has shown anything that really grabbed me though. Not like Modern Family did last year. Any interest in me starting a thread w/ comments on all of the new shows that we’ve been previewed?

I voted “other”. I’d be happy to watch it on Thursdays but that’s one of the few nights the boyfriend is free and I don’t really see him digging this show. Maybe I can get him to try it.

This may be a premature statement, but I’ll go out on a limb and say that figuring out what to call it on the Emmys is unlikely to be a problem.

Though, I’m guessing it’ll be pronounced “Stuff My Dad Says” on commercials and such.

I’m one of those “who CARES when it’s on” people. It’s not like I watch this, or any other television show live, so the schedule means absolutely nothing to me, except when I’m waiting for a new episode to air so I can watch it within the next 24 hours. I’d think that most other people have gotten with the times (pardon the pun) by now too.

How many more seasons away are we from when all tv shows are just offered “on demand” rather than in a premiere time slot?

Absolutely - that’d be a great thread!

I watch it when it comes out on DVD, which means the original night it airs is completely irrelevant to me.

We’re pretty much already there. Some markets are testing it, and HBO has been doing it for a few years with its shows. Sure it has its debut night, but episodes immediately become available on demand.

Of course this works best for HBO, as they don’t care if you fast forward.

I suspect TBBT is being moved specifically to help out the Shatner show. Even though I watch it off my DVR, it was nice having a collection of shows all from one TV block (I watch HIMYM and Rules of Engagement, too). I think TBBT is strong enough to handle a move, but I think it’s ultimately a bad thing.

IIRC, I saw that TBBT does very well in DVR-based ratings.

Interesting – Mike and Molly is another Chuck Lorre show. He’s been a good earner for CBS, so it makes sense that they’d move things around to accommodate hiim. It’s about a couple who meet at Overeaters Anonymous.

Ditto. I love *Community *much more than TBBT. Sucks that they will be up against each other though. Must they pit two clever shows against each other?

Wait, actually, if *The Vampire Diaries *(my guilty pleasure) is on at the same time, then bye bye TBBT. Sorry, but they lost me with the whole Leonard/Penny thing.

I watch it on DVD so as long as the move doesn’t kill the show, I’m fine.

I do wish CBS would do on demand internet streaming of their shows on Hulu or whatever. I happily watch Community each week with my husband. Hulu has a lot of potential if more networks would use it.

I Tivo everything anyway, and have no idea when many of my shows are on.

It seems that many would’ve picked “Meh, I DVR.” had been offered. Me too. I DVR BBT and Doctor Who and the only other TV I watch is what the kids happen to have on (I do like “Phineas and Ferb”, and “Adventure Time”) or what my wife has on in the bedroom at night that I can’t bury my head from.
