There will be an episode airing right after the season premiere, so we can discuss it in this thread.
“The Junior Professor” is the title?
How does that fit into the TBBT modus operandi of naming episodes?
It looks like the episode title is “The Junior Professor Solution” which fits their episode naming convention.
How come you started the thread three days before the show?
It’s the sort of thing I can see Sheldon doing.
I was giddy with anticipation.
The premiere and the next episode are one right after the other. My damned DVR tends to clip off the very end of one episode in favor of recording the beginning of the next show, no matter how I finesse the timing.
Can you do what I do… cancel the recording of the second one, and adjust the end time of the first to a half hour later? That solved my problem.
Hmm, the writers seem to be repeating themselves. Second time they’ve used the Fig Newton/Newton, Massachusetts reference.
So Penny does a Keri Russell with her hair. How much grief is she going to get about it? (I like it)
I know this is a matter of subjective opinion but… her hair looks terrible.
I think it looks sharp.
The flow-pipe question with Sheldon’s illustration was pretty clever, but otherwise a solid C-.
Penny’s hair is awful, but hair-cutting was bound to come, both in sitcom tradition and the fact she’s getting older.
This second episode was better, like they got back in their skin, except Penny’s “people” Tourettes wasn’t funny. But the guy from News Radio took the scene to better heights.
Howard versus Sheldon wasn’t stale.
Amy is just delicious in her plebian yearn for Queendom.
She still looks good with the current haircut, I think, but I prefer her hair longer.
Oh, he was from “NewsRadio”! I couldn’t place the actor, but I thought that his exchange with Penny was very funny.
Geeky math nitpicking: Integrating x^2 times e to the negative x is pretty simple - you don’t need tricks other than integration by parts, which is routinely taught to freshmen.
He pops up all over the place and every time I see him (as I did last night) the first thing I think is “Jimmy James!”.
I question the title “Junior Professor”. Isn’t the progression Assistant Professor then Associate Professor then Professor? Never heard of the term “Junior Professor”.
I may have blanked out at a moment there; why was Howard the only one in his class?
And couldn’t they have had him teaching some regular courses in physics, perhaps for undergrads?
