I liked this. The Penny/Leonard scenes on the rooftop were nice. Almost felt like a season finale.
Howard’s a whiny little bitch. I mean, I know he always has been but that limo scene was over the top.
Exactly - a mild tattoo, not creepy at all. Given the animation love of nerd culture, it would get lots of nerd cred. Her response of why she chose it was the part that was supposed to be creepy but it was delivered in a way that sounded like the character was yanking a chain rather than serious. Especially given the follow-up comment about the Grimm’s version of Cinderella. (Really? These nerds don’t know how nasty the Grimm stories were?)
They’re looking for her odd edge to play with and so far this one is just dull. She’s likable, sure, sweet even, but nothing funny about her yet.
Oh, good point!
I like Emily, as well.
I think the Leonard/Penny interaction was about the most genuine (as far as TV characters go) it’s been since they started going out. About the only other moment like that I can think of was that whole scenario when her car blew up.
Another step closer to Shamy coitus. Which will mean the end of the show.
I agree. For this reason I don’t want it to happen. Besides it makes me uncomfortable.
I’m sure Sheldon knows, and possibly some of the the others. Bernadette (and to a lesser extant Amy) is a woman who loves the Disney Cinderella story (well established in other episodes). I’m imagining that she watched it over and over as a kid. Why would she necessarily delve into it to find out that there were other versions?
Plus, she’s always been a mixture of sweet with a side of nasty (her being a doppleganger of Howard’s mother, and the off hand comments about various bio-hazards and adverse drug reactions).
All in all I liked the episode. Amy should have worn her tiara.
I agree. I was surprised when she wasn’t wearing it.
Since when are girls not allowed in Sheldon’s room? Sure, he doesn’t like anyone going in there but Penny has been in there – alone and with Sheldon’s blessing. And that’s the room Amy stormed into when they were teasing her while playing Dungeons and Dragons.
I know, I know. It’s that very predictable thing the writers do on the show where Sheldon moves a great leap forward emotionally and they immediately take it back-- usually with the last line in the show (not counting the 10 second sting they do after the last commercial).
Which will give Sheldon ever more ways to emotionally abuse Amy.
For that matter, there was that female scientist (Dr. Plimpton) who slept in Sheldon’s room with his permission - Sheldon took the couch.
Simple answer: Its a sitcom!
When the choice is:
- a minor continuity break
- a (alleged) funny joke/punchline
Continuity is going to lose!
Writing for Sitcoms had to much easier pre-internet. They didn’t have to worry much about Continuity
The Dick Van Dyke Show had a flashback episode to the day when Ritchie was born. Rob and Laura were living in an apartment.
Later Rob and Laura have a flashback episode where Rob thinks they brought home the wrong baby. They were living in their house on Bonnie Meadow Road.
I don’t think that Sheldon and Amy having coitus would necessarily end TBBT…I would love to have them copulate and it be a revelation to Sheldon who then becomes a quasi sex-maniac.
I think that it would be funnier if he did it once, didn’t care for it, and never wanted to do it again. But maybe that’s just me…
And Penny sure doesn’t get to act affronted by that, after all the stories she tells about her teen years in Nebraska.
Totally. Maybe even TWO tiaras!
“Well, that was messy and unhygienic - we won’t be doing that again.”
I loved Sheldon telling Amy he loved her - I thought that was a lovely moment.
My husband has been noting that Penny and Leonard don’t kiss any more, since Kaley got married in real life - I think he’s onto something. And in other news, I love her new hair, too. It’s just beautiful.
Ugh, not me. Her pixie cut is hideous.
I was sorry to hear that the woman who did Howard’s mom’s voice passed away. :(. Only 62.
Seriously, fuck cancer.
